Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites. 3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring. A quick 15 minute drive into Picton where you can find our local club and shops. Short drive to Nattai lookout overlooking Warragamba water catchment. Spectacular view. Also Thirlmere Lakes. Nearby Camden township restaurants, cafes, pool, bike track along Nepean River and more. We are located approximately 1 hour from Sydney airport so a day in the city is not out of the question. Shopping malls a short distance away. We have 4 horses, two dams, nice outlook, Clean tank water is available and picnic table can be provided. Please note we can no longer offer bathroom facilities. As we have horses, dogs must be on a leash. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit.

This campsite was nice and green. Beautiful trees lined this area and gave instant cool and shade on a hot day. Toilets were a short walk away and were nice and clean. Directions were perfect and easy to find. A good spot for exploring surrounding beaches, a 15min drive away.

What a great little cost-effective place to stay. The kitchen and bathroom facilities and the cupboard shed area for wet nights makes it an excellent location to stop. Some people have mentioned the smell in their reviews, we didn’t get any of this. But there is so much space undercover where I’m sure you can hide out if there was a smell and still enjoy yourself. We will stay again

Fairly secluded camp sites, loads of shade, grassy & level base. A peaceful property that is close to Nowra, the excellent Worrigee Sports club a short drive away. Loved our stay, lots of interest around the property, including a handful of friendly sheep. Would easily recommend to anyone. Just bring your insect repellant, but that's a given with surrounding farmland.

This was the first camp in our new pod camper so spent a bit of time experimenting with the set up. Lyndall was very friendly and welcoming on our arrival and left us to settle in. We spent three nights at Melon Green and enjoyed it very much. Private and peaceful with beautiful views. Thanks Lyndall, we’ll definitely be back.

Paula's spot was an ideal spot as a base to explore the nearby Kangaroo Valley and surrounds. Close enough to town for any last minute supplies, but completely secluded in a quiet clearing amongst gum trees - with birdsong all around. The facilities were great and Paula was a wonderful host.

Loved this campsite. Even though it was only an hour from Sydney, it really feels like you’re away from it all. The facilities are awesome and the property is beautiful. We had the camping area to ourselves for most of the weekend but even with another group there it felt very private. Great access to Sea Cliff Bridge area. My dog also loved this place. I would love to come back!

The place is a nice option if you’re after a no-fuss camping experience without heading hours out of town. It’s close enough to the city to make a quick getaway feel doable, but still secluded enough that you get that proper “away from it all” vibe. The setup is simple and suits soft-core campers who just want an easy spot to pitch a tent without wrestling with the wilderness. There are plenty of amenities around — a kitchen with the basics, fire-compatible pans and kettles, and a great shower that’s a nice surprise after a day outside — so you’re not roughing it. The space has a relaxed feel that makes it easy to unwind. It’s the kind of place where you can switch off for a night or two without doing a full-on camping mission.

This was such a peaceful site to camp at. Even though it isn't far from a road it was very quiet. So many birds!! Paula is very warm and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with her. We enjoyed having a flushing toilet (site 1 is the closest to the bathroom). This was definitely a great choice for us and we would happily come back to camp there again!

Melon Oak is a peaceful campsite with the loveliest host. Only an hour from Sydney airport and you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere with barely a soul insight. Close by, Picton is a charming little town with cute cafe’s and an ice creamery. As always, pack the mozzie repellent!
