We purchased our 200-acre property after it was heavily impacted by the Summer 2019/20 bushfires. As newcomers to farming, we’re learning what it means to live and work on the land. The property came with a flock of sheep—who continue to teach us new things every day—and we share the farm with our incredibly friendly kelpie, Sage. There are plenty of walking tracks across the hilly landscape, offering stunning views from various points—especially from the peak, for those willing to take on the climb. The property also borders a national park. The nearest town is just five minutes away, where you’ll find food supplies and fuel.

We have 20 acres of lush river flats adjoining the pristine Brodribb River in the Goongerah Valley. Due to the pristine, clean water straight off the surrounding mountains and the rich fertile river flats, early settlers used this place as a market garden to supply fruit and vegetables to the local townsfolk. After our purchase in 2000, we turned it into a self-sufficient paradise, always welcoming visitors to come and enjoy the land with us. Our BYO campsites are near the river where you can reconnect with nature amongst the tall trees. Kanukadale is a working Nature Retreat Sanctuary, so additional to BYO campsites, we also offer our Bell Tents when the retreats are not running. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. We are using technology to create energy and resource efficient accommodation. Our 2 bedroom spacious cottages are spread out on our 30ac Snow Gum Parklands. Each cottage is private with plenty of area to expand and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hotplates and micro wave. There is a bath room with shower and toilet with another separate toilet and drying room. We are only 2klm to the centre of town but it may as well be 100klm away as there is many native animals and flora and no neighbours. We are located next to Jindabyne Airstrip. There are very few flights in and out of the airstrip which is a real novelty if you see an aircraft. Our unique cottages are powered by solar power with no grid connect and use rain water that falls on site. All our linen is washed in spring water by on site solar power and dried by wind and sunlight which is a huge saving to the environment. Our cottages are constructed using local granite so they can blend into the environment. The new cottages are built to be insulated from the Winter cold and the Summer heat. Double glazed and double insulated cottages which are orientated to make the use of the Sun where the hot summer Sun does not enter the cottages and in Winter the Sun flows in to keep the cottages warm. In Winter with the use of a wood fired heater the cottages stay toasty warm and if not regulated properly can get quiet hot. Our Snow Gum woodland environment supports native birds and animals which come and go as they please.

Fantastic glamping experience and Tama is an excellent host! The kids loved the activities too including crafting and Trails with Tails. The hot tub is nice and we had fun swimming in the river. Also enjoyed the beautiful farm animals especially the peacocks. The camp kitchen with fridge is handy. The farm animals make noises at night which some people like and other may want to bring ear plugs. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to So Good Farm

We had a wonderful time staying at the So Good Farm. Bec and Stuart were wonderful hosts who met us on arrival and made us feel right at home. It was the perfect stop for us on the way back from Sydney to Melbourne. Our A frame cabin was so comfortable and charming and we enjoyed just sitting outside with an open fire after cooking dinner in the beautiful camp kitchen. Our dogs enjoyed the property, too, with a walk around their property, it was so peaceful. We can't wait to come back and spend some more time there.

So Good farm is such a paradise!! Bec & Stuart are absolute born hosts. They are the most clever DIY geniuses and have a great design eye. We enjoyed our time there immensely. Bed was exceptionally comfy, cabin was private, and we loved the communal atmosphere with other campers in the kitchen area. Was great for us as a long time couple to have some romantic time while also socializing with like minded humans over a NYE bev. Would 10/10 recommend.

Tama's lovely property offers a range of great accom options in a gorgeous location right on the river. Beds in the glamping tents were super comfy though be prepared for a little noise from both the local wildlife and the farm animals. The lovely hot showers were a welcome sight after a few days in the bush.
