Bliss Camp

A Rocky Mountain Glamping Experience!

Enjoy our mountain getaway in one of two unique, classy, handcrafted Gypsy Wagon Campers, The Shimza and the Sapphira. Towering rock outcroppings surround you in our private Bliss Canyon, the stream lulls you to sleep, the birds serenade you in the morning. Bliss Pond or the Heart Pool will tempt you with a bracing dip in crystal clear waters.  Explore the surrounding national forest or kick back and try some fishing or simply relaxing in camp.

The Shimza is 8’ x 10’ with a full-size bed for 2, counter and cabinets, lots of storage cubbies, Dutch door, table and benches which fold up to make room to sleep 2 more on a mattress on the floor or room for your dog. Solar electricity provides power for lights, your devices, and electric cooler (provided).

Relax in your private backyard or head over to the shared outdoor kitchen for your personal meal prep. After your day of adventure or kicking back, enjoy a solar camp shower. Share your revelations of the day around the campfire, roast marshmallows, or relish your favorite beverage or 4:20 treat. Game of Horseshoes anyone?

Kitchen has sink, fresh, potable water, kitchenware—pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc--4 burner propane stove, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic tables outside. We provide a convenient propane campfire for safety since our climate is dry and often windy.

There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Dot for guidance.) Several NF access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive.

Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon!

Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin National Park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles.Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails.   (Advance reservation required for entry 6:00 am to 5:30 pm due to COVID restrictions.)

Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask for details.

Let the world melt away; there is no wifi or cell service. In the event of urgent need, come to our home up the hill and ring the bell.

The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants,  bars, library with free wifi, and many quaint shops.

Dot and Byron look forward to hosting you in our spectacular Rocky Mountain Paradise.

This was a lovely place to stay. We really enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen to cook our dinners and breakfasts. It is about 30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, so it was so nice to go hiking and then escape the hub bub of the crowds at Estes Park. My kids loved playing in the stream, and the accommodations were great!! It was even more fun for us to learn that the hosts built the wagons themselves. A very nice and unique stay!

The land is absolutely gorgeous! Dot and Byron have a slice of heaven, and they have created a tranquil respite from the world. I came with my family, and my son was absolutely delighted with the pond and the creek, the chipmunks, the hammock overlooking the water. Not only is the land gorgeous, but Dot and Byron have thought of everything - there's a nicely stocked kitchen with utensils and everything you need to cook a decent meal (as long as you don't want to bake anything - but why would you bake something while camping anyway?) and a propane firepit for s'mores even when there's a campfire ban on. The wagons are fairly comfortable, and there's an electric cooler for your drinks. They stay fairly warm, even when it's cool at night. All in all, we had an absolutely memorable stay.

I’ve camped and glamped in most states, but this spot is definitely one of the top 3 finds! The pictures don’t even do this little slice of peace and heaven justice. The facilities are gorgeous, with everything you could need, and impeccably clean. It took my breath away. All night you’ll hear the bubbling creek and the road in alone is worth the stay! The kitchen is fully equipped, there are three perfect hammock nests, and the Gypsy car interior is surprisingly spacious and thoughtful to the last detail. Dot stayed up even though I was an hour and a half late and had great recommendations for the area. I highly recommend the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. I will definitely be back!

Bliss Camp Glamping in ShimzaRomantic interior and fairy lights I loved that the spot was perched beneath beautiful rock outcropping a. It felt very private and I woke up to gorgeous views. The gas fireplace was the perfect touch to a relaxing evening of stargazing.

Wonderful stay at this unique site with our two young kids and puppy. Dot provided greeting and excellent advice re accessing RMNP. A few things might make the stay even better: 1) exact odometer miles from Lyons might assist with finding the spot, esp at night; and 2) given COVID, important to know you may be sharing living space and kitchen with other guests.

Beautiful space with private creek pools. Everything you need for camping, just bring your clothes dogs, food and a swim suit. Dot and Byron are lovely. It is a tad close to the highway so there is some highway noise and the other wagon shares the space so you will make friends if its booked, but overall i loved it and definitely will return. Super dog friendly. If you are looking for a step up from crowded Colorado campgrounds this is it. Dot is also a great resource for some quiet private hikes nearby. If you have a family rent both cabins and c enjoy a private glamping spot.

Such a lovely place and Dot was a great hostess. We had some rain and Dot took care to bring us some extra towels and a table for under the shelter. The site was very clean, including the port-a-john! The trailers were fun and the kids loved it. The peaceful surroundings were a great escape.

We loved our time at Camp Bliss and will certainly return! We all said we had our best nights rest lulled to sleep by the sounds of the mountain streams that surround the property. Our daily adventures included 20 miles of hiking (including a summit hike on trails suggested by other Camp Bliss visitors and Dot), white water rafting, and horse back riding! We took the most gorgeous hikes in RMP and Brainard Lakes and both were scenic drives within 20mins from Camp Bliss.
We packed it in so waking each morning at Bliss and returning to Bliss to rinse up, make dinner and hang by the fire with our 3 kids made for the perfect bookends to every day.
Thank you, Dot and Byron, for sharing your little oasis with us. We have wonderful memories of our time at Camp Bliss!
Your happy campers,
Jessica, Jason, Saunder, Avery and Asher

Dot and Byron were very kind hosts, they took care of us and made sure we were comfortable when an unexpected snow storm came through after days of 80 degree weather.
