This was a lovely place to stay. We really enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen to cook our dinners and breakfasts. It is about 30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, so it was so nice to go hiking and then escape the hub bub of the crowds at Estes Park. My kids loved playing in the stream, and the accommodations were great!! It was even more fun for us to learn that the hosts built the wagons themselves. A very nice and unique stay!
Glamping in paradise!
The land is absolutely gorgeous! Dot and Byron have a slice of heaven, and they have created a tranquil respite from the world. I came with my family, and my son was absolutely delighted with the pond and the creek, the chipmunks, the hammock overlooking the water. Not only is the land gorgeous, but Dot and Byron have thought of everything - there's a nicely stocked kitchen with utensils and everything you need to cook a decent meal (as long as you don't want to bake anything - but why would you bake something while camping anyway?) and a propane firepit for s'mores even when there's a campfire ban on. The wagons are fairly comfortable, and there's an electric cooler for your drinks. They stay fairly warm, even when it's cool at night. All in all, we had an absolutely memorable stay.
I’ve camped and glamped in most states, but this spot is definitely one of the top 3 finds! The pictures don’t even do this little slice of peace and heaven justice. The facilities are gorgeous, with everything you could need, and impeccably clean. It took my breath away. All night you’ll hear the bubbling creek and the road in alone is worth the stay! The kitchen is fully equipped, there are three perfect hammock nests, and the Gypsy car interior is surprisingly spacious and thoughtful to the last detail. Dot stayed up even though I was an hour and a half late and had great recommendations for the area. I highly recommend the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. I will definitely be back!
