Great campsite with fantastic views of the local mountains. The full hookup site we had was extremely nice, new, well setup with a clean picnic table and fire pit. The hilly area was fun to hike around and would be a terrific place for kids to run around and play. Weather was perfect with a nice breeze and clear sky’s.
I would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking to get away from the city and spend time relaxing with family and friends.

We had a wonderful time! The land was beautiful with views of the mountains. The campsite was beautiful, clean, spacious and had a clean bathroom with a HOT Shower. Awesome! We were only 2 people and we car camped but the site (#1 Elderberry Park) is a group site. What is cool is that there are little areas where tents could be pitched that each had a little privacy. We will definitely come back with some friends. There is hiking and a lot to explore. The icing on the cake were the folks at the farm. From David, who met us when we arrived and took us to our campsite and also gave us a tour of the land. To Rich who we met out in the olive groves harvesting olives. To Genine who prepared a wonderful tasting of the EVOO olive oils they produce and her Jelly/Jams. You could really tell that they had a love of the land and wanted to share it. Needless to say, we drove off happy (and some olive oils and jams). Until next time….

Beautiful place and wonderful host! I parked my Tesla Y and did car-camping. The site is tidy and well-maintained. Bathroom is clean too.

We (11 people, 3 big tents) loved the campground! Beautiful views and rather quiet. Some owls, neighborhood dogs, and coyotes but nothing truly disturbing. The grounds slope a little, so make sure that you put up the tent so that your head can be at the highest point.
Rich, our host, was great and was waiting for us to make sure that we would find the campground. Lovely set up and great bathroom. Rich and his ranch hand David gave us a tour of the grounds, explaining things about their working orchard. Thank you so much for all the personal attention!

We stayed at Macala Orchards in the Elderberry campground and had a fantastic experience. The site was clean, spacious, and well-maintained—perfect for our group of nine, with plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The newly built shower, sink, and toilet outhouse were spotless and thoughtfully designed, and the ground well faucet was a nice touch for easy access to water.
We were warmly greeted by David, who was an excellent host. He answered all our questions, both in person and via text, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The location strikes a great balance: it’s secluded enough to feel like a true getaway, yet only about 15 minutes from supermarkets and restaurants.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, private campground with great amenities and a welcoming host!

We absolutely loved this place—especially Site 4! It felt more private than the others, with plenty of shade from the giant trees and a refreshing breeze coming through the canyon, which made it perfect for summer. Our site had two benches, two fire pits, and even a charming little sitting area on the other side with a lovely view—great for eating or painting!
Everything about our stay was wonderful. The location is ideal—just 20 minutes from Temecula and 10 minutes from Hemet. The host, David, was amazing! He gave us a little tour on our second day, which made us appreciate the place even more. The property is full of beautiful pomegranate and olive trees—it’s so natural and peaceful.
The bathroom was a big bonus: clean, spacious, and very convenient to have on-site. We truly had a fantastic experience and would absolutely come back!

This was my second time in a month going there…it’s so beautiful and peaceful! David is so hospitable and knows how to make you feel welcome. It’s so much more beautiful than the pics can show. It’s truly my “happy place” and I can’t wait to go back again!

It was beautiful on Nina’s land. We were looking for an “off the beaten path” place to spend the weekend and had the best weekend ever! David, the host, was great and most accommodating. He gave us a tour and talked about the property like the heaven it was! It was peaceful and quiet, lots of trails to hike and lots of birds, flora and fauna to see! We will definitely be back, especially to see the olives being harvested and made into olive oil! We purchased some to try! 5 star weekend!

The camp host David was so welcoming and made it a wonderful experience! The camp site is so much more beautiful in person than the pics can even express. It’s easy access to your car and bathroom, but you feel so secluded in your own little world in this hidden gem among the trees. Gorgeous views from the site and more if you want to explore on a few trails. There’s an outlet and fresh drinking water at the site so you’re not going without. The tent pad was just big enough for my 5-person tent, you couldn’t fit any bigger. Two picnic tables under the trees for shade, a cooking fire stove then a fire pit for s’mores and hotdogs. I can’t wait to go back, a lovely place!

The hip camp at Macala Orchard was more than we could have imagined. The staff was amazingly hospitable, from the tour upon arrival, to the attention to detail for our accommodations, we were delighted. Our family enjoyed the views, the knowledge gained about the orchard/vineyard from David, the kindnesses extended to us and getting to purchase the award winning olive oil and jam, bringing a piece of it back home with us. The family was easy to work with and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

Site 4 - Oak Trees
I would highly recommend camping here! Our spot (oak grove) was very private and secluded and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The hosts are a down to earth, kind, and genuine couple who will welcome you warmly and make sure you have everything you need. They have several bath houses, each with a toilet, shower, sink, soap, shampoo, bee sting and first aid kits, literally anything you could need. I would highly recommend doing a tasting and trying their olive oil products as well as their jams and jellies, you won’t regret the experience. I will absolutely be returning here soon with friends, it was an awesome experience that was made even better by the most amazing hosts. They are a hardworking couple who are proud of what they have accomplished and it is so interesting to hear about their land, their products, and their family.

We just returned from the most wonderful weekend celebrating our now 7-year-old son's birthday at Villa Macala! The property is so peaceful and beautiful -- boulders, olive and pomegranate orchards, wildflowers (in late April), hummingbirds, blue birds, etc.
Our hosts were so friendly, inviting, and helpful, and we loved their pomegranate juice, fruit jams, and tea.
The brand new bathhouse, just a moment up the path from our site, was clean and full of soaps and other supplies.
We'll be back, for sure, and highly recommend the property (Site 1 - Elderberry Park) in particular for those who want to tent camp.

Macala is a truly amazing campsite. The property is very well maintained and the views are outstanding. Nina and the entire staff are accommodating, friendly and considerate. I spent 2 days with my son enjoying peace and quiet. We spent the days exploring the property. I’ve been to Macala 2 times in the past month and can’t wait to get back there again. It’s really fantastic.

Macala was absolutely beautiful, our hosts were gracious, and the camping facilities were superior & very clean. The grounds were expansive with various farming endeavors including olive groves, fruit trees, & vinyards. Views of SoCal’s largest mountains surround this farm in the canyons heading into wine country. Highly recommend a trip here, and be sure to take home some of their internationally acclaimed olive oils as well as other delicious offerings.

Our stay at Villa Macala was great. It was quiet, peaceful and the site was well placed. We had awesome views from the "Bee Box" site. This site had a new table/bench combo, two extra benches, definitely plenty of seating. Our host David was really helpfull during our stay. I definitely recommend this place for someone who wants to get away from the city. Hope to come back another time.

Loved camping here! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly! Check in was easy and the farm was beautiful! There was only one other group there and the only time we ran into them was waiting for the clean bathroom nearby! There are plenty of spaces to set up the tent and the actual site was huge for 2 people! So much room for a group and activities around the site. Did not want to leave! The boulders provided great privacy from the other campers and everyone was respectful of the noise level. No complaints and can’t wait to return soon! Thank you for your hospitality!

Macala Orchards is a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired property filled with boulders of every size & shape, olive trees, purple sages, wild rabbits and coyotes yipping. My 13 year old daughter spent most of each days climbing the boulders. We watched birds & ground squirrels. Found a funnel spider. Tried to get close to a rabbit at evening silflay. Did the olive oil tasting (multiple award winners including a best of the world!) which was wonderful & luckily our two favorite oils were available for sale. When we first arrived, the property manager David met us at the gate & did a great orientation. Rich, the patriarch, took us on an inspiring tour of the property, zipping up and down hills in his golf cart. Our tent site was close to their new, bright bathroom, which had a decent-sized hot shower. I was able to park my SUV near the place we chose for the tent. There are lots of spots to park and/or set up one’s tent, s actually. I just chose a spot that was flat, under a tree & near a picnic shelter with a view for my morning coffee time. We didn’t use the bigger bathroom/kitchen area as we didn’t need the microwave, fridge or sink up there. (We are self sufficient that way.) My daughter wants to go back, as do I, but I think for vastly different reasons. She loved the rocks & building the fire. I loved the trees that came from Italian soil & knowing it Italian blood that build everything. Macala Orchards is a place good for the soul.

Let me start by saying we ABSOLUTELY LOVED Villa Macala Orchards campgrounds. The property is beautiful, majestic and grand. The facilities and campgrounds are immaculately clean. After booking the reservation, Nina then contacted us to provide detailed information and instructions about our stay. Nina is very friendly, considerate and accommodating. Upon our arrival we were met by David who is full of personality, entertaining stories and knowledge of the surrounding environment. He also shared a few of his favorite hiking spots to explore. We were also delighted and impressed by the olive oil tasting that was given to us by Rich, the owner of the property. Rich is very hospitable and inviting. His love for his craft and consideration of his surroundings is endearing. This place is enchanting. We will be coming back for sure. I highly recommend Macala to anyone looking for a truly wonderful experience. We already booked a few more days in April.

Site 1 - Elderberry Park
Loved staying here, the hosts were very generous and accommodating! We stayed at the elderberry park site. Very tidy and well kept. The site is surrounded by plants, trees and huge boulders, just beautiful. They just put in a new bathroom with a shower and flush toilet. Tankless water heater gives you hot water! There was a small problem but the hosts were on it right away. Would love to stay here again in the future! Thank you Richard, David and Nina

We had such a great time at the Macala villa.
The property is just insanely beautiful and we enjoyed the view in every second.
Especially the two bathrooms were incredibly nice and the host was really helpful.
After only three days we have locked Richard and Genine into our hearts.
We are definitely planning on coming back to this beautiful place.

We ended up staying at the Elderberry campsite and it was an absolutely beautiful spot nestled among the big boulders of rural Riverside County. The campground is well maintained with a great bathhouse and the hosts are super friendly and helpful. It was also great to see the olive orchards and other agricultural areas. There is a small playground for kids too which was really nice. We were there in November and it was chilly at night and very pleasant during the day. Very few bugs too, and the cute farm kitties were a nice surprise!
