Disappointing in all aspects
The campsite was quite disappointing. One big problem was that it was falsely advertised. It said there is a table, but there is none, so it’s difficult to cook. The pictures on the ad are misleading: the towers and yurts are not accessible to campers; all you have is a patch of bare land. The host was not on premises and was difficult to reach; I left a voicemail for Ryan, who then left a voicemail for me.
We had reserved campsite #2, which is a few hundred feet from campsite #1, so would’ve been private enough. But on the day we arrived, Ryan switched us to a non-advertised spot just 40 feet from campsite #1. The group at site #1 was noisy, blaring music late into the night. I couldn’t sleep all night, so at 5:30 am, I had to tell them to please turn off their music. I had to do this on each of the 2 nights that we overlapped. Luckily they obliged.
If you’re just looking for a patch of land to sleep on, then this place would be suitable. However, for us, we would’ve been better off finding a secluded spot in the wilderness, where there is no amenities but at least we would’ve been able to enjoy the desert without noisy neighbors.
The previous owner of this house clearly had a lot of fun with its design, as soon as you pull up you see two castles and the property only gets better from there. This site is located in Joshua Tree and is very close to the national park. The current owners are new to the property and have many plans on how they are going to develop it. We highly recommend staying here and checking out the park!
We stayed in the campsite inside the property. The property is pretty decent and well kept. I just wished they were a little more considerate with pool access for campsite tenants. We were only allowed to access the pool between 12pm-3pm, which I think is too harsh on the skin and would less likely dip in the pool in peak of heat of the day. Also, since it said luxury campground I wished they were able to provide a simple and clean toilet with running water to wash hands instead of just providing a portable toilet. Lastly, a shower with cover would be appropriate.
The host was super cool and hospitable! The site looked as it did on the website. The pergola was a life saver from the sun. If you order the OJ, which we did, it was the freshest of fresh squeezed. I know it’s nature, but our campsite was on top of a lot of red ant hills which was not good for us or the dog. Other than that, it was a cool oasis outside of the National Park.
This camp site is awesome; what a great concept. Ryan and Luke were very friendly and helpful! The site is close to town as well as to the park. Would definitely stay here again :)
