Places to see near Manzanita Village Retreat
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This is a great place to come for peace and quiet to relax or have solo time away to write and take in the quiet. Catriona and Michele are excellent hosts. Very helpful and accommodating. Clean facilities and a great communal kitchen to gather in and cook meals. Very warm and inviting. Breathtaking views. They have put a lot of creativity and mindfulness into creating their retreat center.
Silent, seclusion & synchronicity
Caitriona & Michele made me feel so comfortable upon arriving I felt like family. Their property exceeded my expectations, and the cabin where I stayed within Manzanita was perfect! I needed a weekend to recenter, reflect and focus on a branding project for my business. I was able to completely unplug, going from candles & silence to hopping on my computer when I was in flow to do more work. This place vibrates high with nothing but positivity and creative energy. Was PERFECT for what I was looking for. As amazing as the accommodations were, I’d have to say Caitriona & Michelle made my stay what is was. Their property ticked ALL the right boxes for a weekend away for work and some personal spiritual connection.
A place to simply be
With a desire to rejuvenate after the busy holiday season and use our vacation time to focus on deep rest and nourishment, Manzanita Village served as an incredible haven. The kindness of ample sunshine and rustic yet sufficient amenities allowed us to relax in the quiet aliveness this property offers. Caitriona and Michele offered us thoughtful conversation and ample space to enjoy our time. We picked this stay over a similar retreat property because Manzanita Village offered exactly what we were looking for: a simple place to sleep, a place to make our own food, and a place to connect to nature. This is a wonderful place for people who are mindful of living lightly with the land and being enthralled with her beauty.
It was such a delight staying in the Hermitage at Manzanita Village Retreat! Our hosts were kind and welcoming and the location was incredibly peaceful. My friend and I stayed only one night, but being on the property renewed me in such a beautiful way. We greatly appreciated the access to a full kitchen and clean bathrooms. Can’t wait to come again!
Story book nook
This is such a wonderful place. We had a lovely time. The dirt road leading up to the location is out of a story book. And the host's are so sweet and informative, and really hands-off. Which we loved. Definitely going to come back in the fall. thank you so much for letting us stay here. Really thankful that places and people like this exist!
Beautiful land and peaceful
Beautiful land around the property, and we loved exploring the hills. There's a nice overlook at the top of the path to the cabin as well, perfect for coffee in the mornings or contemplative moments. Things are bare bones and rustic, accurately described. No electricity or lights around the cabin, and the way is hard to find in the dark, so I would bring a flashlight and stationary lights next time visiting. Loved being able to let my dog off leash and roam around the property, and the kitchen and bathroom made things easier than traditional camping.
Peaceful private solo retreat
I stayed two wonderful nights at this hermitage. If you’re looking for a simple, quiet, private place to recharge, I would start here.
There were no other retreats when I was there so it was very quiet. There’s a mediation path and sitting area as well as a labyrinth. A hammock under the trees to take deep naps in and a lovely open air dining patio area.
The solar powered hermitage itself is made of adobe including the floors. Simple twin futon beds with ample bedding. I loved the sitting spot out front and it truly is private. The stars at night are unreal!
Keep in mind: a flashlight is helpful when going to and from the hermitage after dark and with no electricity be prepared for the heat during midday. The trees and dining area provide cooling but I love the heat so it all felt great to me. Though surprisingly the adobe keeps it cool at night and in the mornings.
I would definitely recommend this place! Michelle and Caitriona are very welcoming and kind hosts! Thank you I hope to return sometime in the future :)
