Really enjoyed camping here. Very forested and attractive camping spot. The campground gets very busy so there's not a lot of privacy, and it seems very family friendly. We did see bears in the area so make sure to use the provided bear boxes. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. There's a small creek that runs through the campground which is nice, and there are a lot of hiking trails and recreational opportunities right outside the campground. There's even a trail head to some lakes at the top of the campground. Overall I really enjoyed this campground and would come again.

Be prepared for bears! Make sure all food and toiletries are put away in the bear locker. Don't wait to clean up after you've eaten! I have definitely had a bear walk through my campsite before and was luckily ready to make some noise (and a dog in the next site over helped!). Beautiful campground close to many lakes, good rock climbing areas and places to rent a boat. Love it and continue to come back every summer in spite of the bears ;)

Another beautiful campground that is often pretty full. I would definitely make reservations ahead of time and if possible, I would reserve either site 49 or 51. If you're going with a small group I recommend getting both. You'll have a lot of space to yourselves and you're very close to the creek.

Coldwater is the first campsite we stayed at in Mammoth Lakes; it’s in a great location if you want easy access to trails and want to be further away from the Village. For how many campsites that are available this one can get very quiet at night and if your lucky enough to get a campsite by the creek you will find your evenings and mornings very soothing. If you are trying to get a campsite during a big holiday plan to book in advance (like six months) and if dry camping be prepared to not take a shower. This campsite does not have showers available.
