It’s in the perfect pit stop if you’re traveling east or westbound through Arizona. We came in late December on a full moon night, it was freezing cold, and the campground was empty and had an eerie beauty to it. I imagine that when it’s warmer it’s hard to find enough shade, but waking up to a frosty morning alone in the desert here was quite special. The facilities were great with the warmest bathroom we’ve come across, but you had to track to the campground entrance to find drinking water.

Winter desert morning all to ourselves A full moon so bright it cast shadows on everything around. Each site has a little tent patchThe view of an inner site
