Park yourself at Longleaf and get ready to relish in the beauty of South Carolina forest. This dreamy campground is your ticket to a picnic under a mighty pine or a trek down one of the great trails in the area. The best part? None of this great stuff costs a dime. Free camping at Congaree means more money for marshmallows. We’ll bring the graham crackers.

I stayed here on a weekend night and unfortunately so did two sets of drunk couples who brought wagons of booze with them. They were loud and annoying late into the night, which ended with several of them vomiting inside their tents. Unfortunately the park rangers did not offer me a free night or any other compensation for the hassle. The campground is like a fishbowl, and any sound is amplified. Do not stay here if you want privacy!
