The Mooseshroom is an adult only (21+) camping community that is only 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Guests are offered four designated TENT camp spots that will accommodate 1 tent and 2 people per site. PLEASE, NO TRAILERS, TENT CAMPERS OR RV’s OF ANY KIND. Also, tent spots are level; parking is NOT, so if you’re car camping, don’t expect a level spot

Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables to enjoy as well.
***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the entrance to West Glacier. The noise does tend to subside a bit at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.
Important note: Not suitable for young children. Persons 21 and older are welcome.

All aspects of our stay here were awesome! Terri was great with communication before we arrived, super friendly, and very willing to accommodate our late arrival time after a 10 hour drive. She met us in the driveway as soon as we pulled in, and gave us some options of places we could put up our tent. The bathroom/shower building is brand new and was clean and warm in the chilly evening. Didn't get a chance to use the kitchen, but definitely would have appreciated the fridge and coffee maker if we were staying another night. Definitely recommend staying here!!
Terri’s campsites & commons are cute and very welcoming. Everything you could ever want/need is located in the commons (including an adorable camp cat). The only thing I would say is make sure you bring an extra sleeping pad! The campsites are just small clearings on the Forrest floor, and haven’t been cleared like traditional campsites so they can be a little hole-y. We would definitely visit again and had a great time! It’s very well located to the park :)
The commons area is a bit farther from the campsites than we were lead to believe. As such, there were cold nights walking back and forth (close to a quarter mile) from the fire/showers, etc. I would recommend allowing fire pits at each campsite to make it more comfortable.

I appreciate this feedback, however, I’m certain my sites are closer than a quarter mile from the bath house. Montana is cold in September and tent campers should plan accordingly. Next year I shall situate a port a potty closer to the tent spots but fire pits at sites will never be an offering at the Mooseshroom.
Terri is an amazingly host! The site is completely raw for tent camping though. No official spots that were cleared for that but the common area was amazing, bathrooms were exceptionally clean and all around a very peaceful place.

Thank you for this feedback, Sarah. Should I host tent campers in future years, I’ll be sure to designate specific spots. I was sure that indicating that my spots are ‘dispersed’ suggests that my campers have to find their own spot, but you aren’t the only person to be put off by it and to mention it in a review. Thanks again for staying at my place and for the feedback.
The Mooseshroom was an amazing part of our Glacier adventure! Great basecamp to cook a meal, use a great bathroom with showers & sit around the fire. Took off for some GlacierNP Backpacking the next day - thanks Terri for the great stop!

Beautiful site. I never take showers when we camp but the set up here was just great. It was so nice to clean up a bit during our Glacier Natl Park adventure. The site was easy to find. Terri was extremely responsive and friendly.
Terri is a great host! The site has a lot of amenities, such as showers, bathrooms, and a kitchen, if needed. Close to Glacier NP.
Terri was friendly and has great shared resources (shower, breakfast area, grilling station) for guests. Would recommend if you're exploring the West side of the park!
Terri made myself and my two girlfriends feel so welcome. The common area was awesome for cooking and the bathrooms were very clean. Everything we needed for a great tent camp site. The tent sites are primitive, but we had full access to the fire pit near the common area. We had an amazing weekend. Thank you Terri. Looking forward to another visit soon!

It was a pleasure hosting Kelli. I hope to have her back some day..... didn’t get to visit with her nearly as much as I’d like.
