Convenient to West Yellowstone. We parked our trailer in the mowed field and felt glad to have a place to stay on short notice.

This campground was perfect! We needed up not getting there until after sunset due to traffic leaving the park. We originally planned on tent camping, but had JUST seen a grizzly as we were leaving the park and decided to sleep in the car. There’s quite a bit of road noise as it’s right off the highway, but it didn’t bother me. The campground was nicely organized too, very easy directions. Will definitely consider this for my next visit to Yellowstone and would highly recommend to others :)

We were fortunate to find a place to camp during our stay at Yellowstone. The camp area is in an open area as described. However I did not realize how close to the road it was. Traffic can be loud at night. Also, Diamond P is a ranch with beautiful horses. However there is horse feces where you set up your tent. We tried looking for a clean grassy area but couldn’t find any. I was disappointed to find out that the campgrounds in the park charge ~$20/night (with bathrooms and water sources) compared to here which is double the rate without any of those amenities. Unfortunately the park campgrounds were booked by the time we planned our trip. All in all our hosts were great, and allowed us a late checkout to accommodate our itinerary.

Communication from owner was great, directions were accurate, and instructions were clear! There were horses nearby too!!
My boyfriend and I traveled through Yellowstone and needed a place to camp for the night. It was close to west Yellowstone so location to everything was great. However, you are camping right by the highway and in a grass field. We came prepared for the cold weather, but I would recommend staying in an RV if you stay at this place. A tent was a little rough.

Here are some pros and cons.
Pros: the campsite was stunning! Beautiful field, and we got great views of the horses! We saw them get off work one night and they ran into a field and a bunch were playing and rolling around in the dirt. Our second morning, we woke up to wolves howling! One seemed really close and others that responded were pretty far away. We were the only ones at the campsite, so the size didn’t bother us. The portapotties were surprisingly clean. Lastly, it was only a few minutes from the park.
Cons: We froze! The temperature dropped to 26 and there was frost on everything. It would have been nice to be able to have a fire. (I don’t recommend waiting until fall to cam in Montana). It was really close to the highway so the car sounds often woke me up.

Convenient if you are going on the morning horseback ride across the street. It would be helpful if the actual mileage from a known landmark would be included. This was extremely difficult to find, sign for Hipcamp didn't appear until you were well off the road.

Easy check in and directions, clean portapotties and very close to Yellowstone National Park. We stayed here in our van with our dog and it was exactly as described. Very convenient location near town to get supplies and be right next to the park.

A great stop just outside of the West Yellowstone park entrance. Plenty of space and sweeping views of the nearby mountains. We tent camped and were quite comfortable. My sons loved seeing the horses go by. My GPS took me to the north part of their property but it was a quick jump over to the south side of the highway where we camped.

We very much enjoyed our time on the ranch! Watching the horse rides go back and forth was fun. We watched coyotes play in the field everyday. My kids were happy to ride their bikes around. It’s very close to West Yellowstone town and the main entrance to the park. The only bad thing is your parked right on the highway and hear the road traffic all night as we had to have our windows open to keep it cool inside, there are no hookups and can’t run the generator all night. Overall it’s a nice place!

It’s a premier location, but there is a lot of street noise until fairly late and starts up pretty early. We have a roof mounted tent, which doesn’t create a noise buffer, but an RV or motor home would be ideal.
The hosts are kind and helpful! The horses across the street are gorgeous. It was a tiny taste of ranch life.

Fun little place. A little pricey for what you get though. Super super close to other campers so if you want a more private stay this isn’t the place for you.. Overall not bad, had a good time in West Yellowstone and not a far drive from everything which is a big plus.

We were thrilled to get a spot so close to Yellowstone when all the campgrounds inside the park had booked up long before we got around to planning our trip. The Diamond P was magical in many ways (my kids loved saying hello to all the horses, and seeing foxes pouncing on mice in the field), but also limited. You can't get away from the road noise (and it goes late into the night - we were in a pop-up, so heard it loud and clear with big trucks rolling by), and the lovely grassy field you park in, turns into quite the mud ball when thunderstorms roll through. That said, we knew these possible challenges when we booked and made the best of it. The porta-potties were never smelly and always presentable (even in the muddy conditions), and the surrounding views are fantastic. So, overall this is a good option when you can't get inside the park, but know the limitations of the site if you book and enjoy the good parts!

Megan was awesome! Couldn't find the camp; Megan helped us out. We had a mechanical issue with our vehicle. Megan assured us that we had a place to stay if we couldn't get on the road by our checkout date. Their land was beautiful, clean and spacious. We will definitely come back! Plus you are less than 10 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance. Diamond P also offers horseback riding. Additionally, they are generator friendly.

Very nice place, simple in the middle of a field with horses around. We loved this place better than the RV parks and other camp grounds. You had allot of space between you and the next rig and it was very clean… for a field. Plus I had full signal of Verizon LTE and AT&T. We really liked everything.

The campground was great. We prefer more seclusion from other campers, but knew how the campsites were arranged ahead of time. Beautiful setting. The evening horseback ride was great as a family.
The portable bathrooms were clean and had hand sanitizer. The communication ahead of the trip was thorough.
Absolutely will return if we come back to Yellowstone.

Staff was polite. Sites are uncomfortably close to the 65 mph highway that is quite loud all the time. Grass was well over a foot high on my end site, and when I asked about this they said they had trouble with the land owner allowing them to cut the grass. Opportunities for improvement would be keeping the grass trimmed, especially during fire season, also moving the row of campers against the tree line instead of against the highway would be a vast improvement. I guess without some big changes I would not stay here again, but it beats driving another 45 min out of town. I would expect more from a $40+ a night site, but hey if people are paying it….

This is a fine place to stay if you are looking for a place near by Yellowstone to throw down your tent at the end of the day just to wake up early to get your ass back into the Park.
