Ken was an incredibly kind and welcoming host, we loved our stay!
The location is wonderful, it’s close to so many things to do, but far enough that it is peaceful. Really appreciated the lists at the campsite for local places to eat/walk/sight see, etc., especially not being from the area. The lists also had small descriptions that helped you know what you might be getting yourself into (things like- can get busy, parking is tricky, etc.)
The two sites are huge, and have a ton of space to spread out and relax. We absolutely loved the whole ‘vibe’ of the place - rustic, but so well taken care of.
Our family loved the lawn games that were available to play in our site, as well as the tree swing. It was very convenient to have the outdoor sink, shower, and toilet all right there in the communal space.
We loved our stay here, and would absolutely go back!

Ken and Judi are amazing hosts, and we're incredibly grateful that they share their beautiful property with hipcampers. Location is super convenient, amenities are thoughtful, the space feels private, and there are ample sitting areas (on both sites) from which you could enjoy the 360 views. We're self contained, but the outdoor sink was so convenient, and the shower and toilet looked well maintained and clean if you need it. We felt so at home, especially coming back from a day out and about. Can't wait to return!

It was amazing! So clean and the view of the hills was amazing. Loved the clean up sink area and the porta potty was a nice plus! Will definitely come back!

Great stay at SLO Country Camp!

We had the pleasure of camping at Ken and Jud's over the 4th of July weekend. They were incredibly kind and even took the time to show us around the campsite. We will absolutely be coming back up to SLO and staying at SLO Country Camp in the very near future! Perfect place to take in the scenery and unwind after a long day of travel. Our pup enjoyed it too!

We had a great time at Ken and Judis campsite they were both super helpful and Ken made us feel at home and everything was just as described the views were great clean campsite and was super peaceful and quiet at night I would recommend staying here instead of a small noisy hotel if you like camping and just had a better experience overall 😀

Ken and Judi's property is picturesque with stunning views of the surrounding coastal mountains and nearby valley farmland and vineyards. The shaded food-prep area with wash sink was a convenient feature, as was the shower. The field adjacent to campsite 1 was great for a game of whiffle ball for our group of dads and kids. We also enjoyed evening campfires, having plenty of room for all of our camp chairs.
We would like to return if our adventures bring us back to the San Luis area of the central coast. Next time we’ll bring earplugs to help sleep as the airport traffic was loud for tent camping.

Very lovely property with pretty views and nice touches like hanging plants and solar lights. The amenities were convenient (ex. Sink, shower, picnic tables, etc.). I heard more airplanes than expected (a few during sleeping hours), but wasn’t a huge deal. Reviews said site #2 is the better one, but I preferred having site #1 bc of the more open expansive views. I also felt like we had more privacy than the other people in site #2, since we had to walk past their camp to reach the sink, shower, ports-potty, etc. (You’re also less likely to hear the porta-potty door close from site #1). I would stay here again. Although we did not see the hosts, they were friendly in their messaging. We also caught a glimpse of the neighborhood dog, and a great view of the full moon rising over the horizon.

Had a lovely time at Ken and Judi’s land. They were very welcoming, and the site was very pleasant and comfortable. Really great location. Just remote enough to get some tranquility, but the town and the beach are easily within reach. Highly recommend.

Ken and Judi were fantastic hosts! They were very communicative and provided clear instructions to access the site. Once we arrived, it was easy to get settled in. The site is incredibly clean, well set up, and in a very peaceful area - we will definitely be back on our next trip down the central coast!!

Everything was great, thank you so much for hosting us. The other campsite had great people too. Our kids had a great time playing together. One tip for light sleepers, and this is totally out of the hosts’ control, there was a neighboring dog that barked quite a bit throughout the night, earplugs would be great.

We had such a wonderful stay! The hosts were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. The property was beautiful and so incredibly cute. We brought our kids, and they had the best time exploring around the property and taking it all in.
The bathrooms were very clean, and having a sink was such a nice and appreciated necessity. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely come back to visit!

We had such a great time celebrating my daughter’s birthday here! The setting is beautiful, and the sites are clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed.
Ken and Judi were so welcoming. Ken greeted us on arrival and showed us the highlights, which was a nice touch.
Close enough to town for convenience, but still feels like a getaway. We will definitely come back.

The site was adorable and well kept! The host came out to greet us and was so hospitable. Firewood, sink, lighter fluid, shower, porta potty and chairs were all available for our stay. The calming hills and peaceful orchards make for a perfect site. Would totally recommend!!
