Newly installed this summer we have our "Tree Web" as seen in our photo section.
We are a 60 acre homestead that is 55 acres of wooded land and 5 acres of groomed land. There is about 3 miles of trails on the land (if you follow each trail from end to end) and some interesting topography with 100 foot of elevation change, 2 springs, 3 sink holes, a dry creek system and a treehouse that I live in. We have quite a few caves in the area, Patoka lake is about 30 minutes West and Louisville is about 45 minutes East.
We are all solar powered and off the grid and we even have a stage.
Camping can be in the Black Walnut Grove, in an open field or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods.

AMAZING. Kerry's the best. He gave us a great tour of the property (some good stuff: springs, tree house, rope swing, chickens, garden, etc). Had a great time hanging out with him and the property's beautiful. <3
My dog and I had such a great stay here! It is truly dog friendly, and I loved all the other pets up on this property. I loved seeing how Kerry made this place off grid, and his treehouse is awesome.
It was a wonderful stay, we got our privacy but also got to chat with the host and other campers. It was a beautiful piece of land. Outhouse is one of the best I've ever seen/been in. Would go back again if ever passing through !
WOW! We had a blast! What a wonderful property with so much to do and see! Rope swing, trails, tire swing, cool tree house, cabin, bee hives, water springs, and more! Also the dog, Charlie, was so amazing! Kerry the host is very cool and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Kerry was a very helpful host, accommodating us in the dead of winter with an abundance of firewood to burn and helpful tips about where to camp on his property (you get to choose your own!) His land is diverse and great for all-season camping - including a well-decorated outhouse, potable water, tire swing, and outdoor stage for lipsync battles.
Kerry's land is very beautiful and filled with trees, and the whole area is lovely to drive through. Kerry is a great host and will make sure you are comfortable. It's a nice place, and very peaceful and quiet.
Black Walnut Grove was a great overnight getaway from Louisville. Kerry’s property is perfect for popping up a tent and unplugging. We opted for a shady spot near the best out house I will probably ever visit. There were gorgeous groves more secluded that I may try next time. The well-maintained forest had a nice trail featuring a flowing natural spring and a bee hive. There’s an open field optimal for stargazing. Kerry was a gracious host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice trip. Sampson the lovable dog was a welcomed visitor to our campsite and got along great with my dog. We also enjoyed learning about off-grid living, the garden and the chickens. We’ll definitely be back. It’s such a great weekend retreat close to Louisville.
Kerry wasn't able to be at the property that weekend, but he let us camp there anyway and gave detailed instructions. It was a beautiful place to camp for the night. We would come back!
Kerry's land is really beautiful and the drive in is pleasant. We camped one night and left in the morning because it started to rain. Overall, it was a good experience. If you're accustomed to camping, you'll find the normal country sounds including dogs barking and chickens. We never met Kerry, but we did talk with one of the other residents and she was very nice. I thought we might run into a lot of mosquitoes, but that wasn't the case which was nice.
