We are on a solar powered, off the grid 60 acre homestead that has 54 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. Come explore our land and relax in the "Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our (mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end).
Camping can be in the Black Walnut Grove, in an open field or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods.
We love groups - Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people.

River, stream, or creek
We have a series of dry creeks on the land. They flow during big rain storms
Our waterfall is seasonal. It flows all year, but during the dryer season it is more of steady drip of water.
We are more of a "homestead" than a farm or ranch but we have chickens, bee keep, orchards and a garden.
We have gravel roads to get you to several different pars of the land. The main driveway is about a 1/4 mile to the barn.

AMAZING. Kerry's the best. He gave us a great tour of the property (some good stuff: springs, tree house, rope swing, chickens, garden, etc). Had a great time hanging out with him and the property's beautiful. <3
It was a wonderful stay, we got our privacy but also got to chat with the host and other campers. It was a beautiful piece of land. Outhouse is one of the best I've ever seen/been in. Would go back again if ever passing through !
WOW! We had a blast! What a wonderful property with so much to do and see! Rope swing, trails, tire swing, cool tree house, cabin, bee hives, water springs, and more! Also the dog, Charlie, was so amazing! Kerry the host is very cool and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Black Walnut Grove was a great overnight getaway from Louisville. Kerry’s property is perfect for popping up a tent and unplugging. We opted for a shady spot near the best out house I will probably ever visit. There were gorgeous groves more secluded that I may try next time. The well-maintained forest had a nice trail featuring a flowing natural spring and a bee hive. There’s an open field optimal for stargazing. Kerry was a gracious host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice trip. Sampson the lovable dog was a welcomed visitor to our campsite and got along great with my dog. We also enjoyed learning about off-grid living, the garden and the chickens. We’ll definitely be back. It’s such a great weekend retreat close to Louisville.
My dog and I had such a great stay here! It is truly dog friendly, and I loved all the other pets up on this property. I loved seeing how Kerry made this place off grid, and his treehouse is awesome.
Beautiful. fun. interesting.
Kerry is an amazing host! He greeted us as we arrived and helped us pick the best spot! He took us on the land tour and showed us all about the improvements he had made. We saw sink holes, chickens and waterfalls. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with essentials. The festival was so much fun and the music just added to our experience! I imagine during times when there is not a music festival, the campsite is probably very quiet and peaceful. My kids loved the tree web and tire swing. The trees on this 60 acre property were so tall and created a beautiful canopy. There is plenty of open field to stargaze as well. Sites do not have water or electric but there is a water source nearby. If you are looking for a fun, interesting, nestled-in-the-woods campsite, this is for you!
Awesome place to camp
This campsite was awesome. Lots to explore on the property itself. There was a small spring waterfall and Kerry dug out underneath it for a nice spot to hang out and take a dip. Very refreshing. The bathrooms were great, one with running water and a shower and one closer to where we camped without it that kept bugs out. Kerry’s treehouse was really cool to check out. And the bungee net was a lot of fun.
The property itself is secluded, but a short seven minute drive into town which made beer and ice runs that much easier. We also kayaked and took a cave tour.
Jersey is the camp dog and we were blessed enough to chill with her. She curled up in a chair and hung out by the fire with us.
The best part of the site is the host Kerry. Seriously the nicest guy ever, so friendly and intelligent and willing to chat with us. Very personable.
If you are considering camping here, I 100% recommend it. If you don’t, you are missing out on a very cool place. I can’t wait to come back.
Kerry's land is very beautiful and filled with trees, and the whole area is lovely to drive through. Kerry is a great host and will make sure you are comfortable. It's a nice place, and very peaceful and quiet.
