Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table.
The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing.
Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups.
My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire.
The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath.
The Hippie Bus is new for the 2025 season and offers a trip back in time.

Weekend Trip to The Specialty Crop
The cabin at Specialty Crop is excellent. Clean, air-conditioned, quiet and stocked with water, towels and a coffee maker. Spacious enough for us 3 adults. Thank you Katie and Chris for a comfortable stay, the enjoyable outdoor shower, and good hospitality.

Group trip
This was our second stay at Specialty Crop but this time we carved out two nights to enjoy. The four of us arrived super late our first night and immediately fell into our comfy beds waiting for us. Our 17 and 20 year old girls LOVE sharing the bed in the tiny loft 😉.
Sunday morning we were greeted by the adorable roosters, chickens and kitty cats while we sipped coffee on the front porch. It was a busy day moving our Augie girl into her dorm. We were blessed to have such a comfy place to return to. We enjoyed a lovely campfire and more snuggles from kitty cat, Chai and dog Runa before retiring a bit earlier for another glorious night of sleep.
If I had to tell you what my FAVORITE part about this place was, it would most definately be the outdoor shower. It really is amazing!! Chris, Katie and their children are such amazing hosts and we love staying with them in their little cabin.

Easily one of our best camping experiences! The little log cabin at Katie & Chris’s place was the perfect home base for our recent family trip to the Sioux River Folk Festival. We were welcomed with warmth and next-level hospitality, even while they were in the midst of tree cleanup after a major storm. The cabin was charming and well-appointed, and the queen bed was super comfortable! Our kids loved having their own space up in the loft and we all decided that we want to build our own outdoor bathhouse at home because the shower was so great! Chris and Katie have poured their hearts into their property and into providing an outstanding experience for guests. There are so many incredible reasons, both big & small, why we loved our stay at the Specialty Crop and we can’t wait to return! Thank you for making us feel like family!

1 night at The Specialty Crop
We very much enjoyed staying in the cabin for a night while traveling across the country! The bed was the comfiest we had slept in during a month on the road! We were not only welcomed by the family, but by their feline friends as we relaxed on the porch in the evening. The outdoor facilities were easy to use, and I loved showering while listening to all the birds making their morning music. The hosts also have a few rv and tent sites, so the facilities are shared if there are other campers on the property. The cabin was welcoming, spacious, and comfortable. The only difficulty we had was knowing where and how to wash our dishes after having a meal. However, Katie was always responsive to our questions and was a wonderful hostess.

I couldn’t possibly speak more highly of this secluded little getaway.
The hosts were very accommodating, welcoming, friendly, and brought a sense of peace, safety, and serenity. The communication was outstanding as soon as I reserved the cabin. The accommodations were beyond expectations and the location was beautiful. All of the critters were lovely to be around, especially their sweet little pup. The extras that they offer are outstanding and I wish I could have tried them all. I would suggest a few days stay - one day simply isn’t enough. You get well over your moneys worth and are guaranteed a great trip when booking with this absolutely incredible family. If I could go to this cabin weekly, you best bet that I certainly would!

I stayed in the barn loft at Brian’s place and I thought it was charming…comfy bed, warm shower and fresh eggs for breakfast! Just what I needed. The only thing I would have changed was not being able to open the windows to let the breeze blow through. Brian was a wonderful, kind host and was very accommodating.

Chris and Katie are amazing host. They make you feel right at home. Thank you for sharing your amazing farm. I stayed in the cabin and it did not disappoint. The dog and the cats were very welcoming and friendly. The views were amazing. I am so glad I decided to stay and I will share this place with my family and friends that may be passing through. 2 nights at Uncle B's Produce Farm
We loved staying in the Hippie Bus for a night - a really "cool" and unique accomodation in the middle of a farm! The queen size bed was very comfortable and the decor was all out hippie. Brian has done a great job fixing up the inside of the bus with lighting, music and a fun landscape mural across the windshield.
The next two nights we "camped" out in the Barn Loft, out of the rain and wind. The loft is complete with queen size bed, TV, shower, fridge, stove, coffee maker and microwave. It truly is the barn loft, with a well used barn below. The chickens, turkeys and peacocks are entertaining to watch from the loft window. It was a very quiet and peaceful place to read and relax. And Brian left a dozen of farm fresh eggs for our breakfast!
Brian is a great host. He checks up daily to see if anything is needed and very responsive. The sites are all mowed, the bathrooms, bus, and loft were clean, firewood and water is available. Each site has a fire pit. Uncle B's was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our summer travels! We plan to visit again soon!
