Whether you plan on sleeping under a trailer roof, or a tent or the stars, the campground at Raymond B. Winter State Park welcomes you with open arms. Personally, you can sign us up for under the stars. Being in a shallow basin, the night sky is framed by the surrounding rocky ridges. Speaking of which, there is great hiking to be had up to said ridges. And when you visit, don’t forget to check out Halfway Lake and its hand-laid sandstone dam. It’s dam impressive. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

A great place to enjoy the summer! Mountains to hike in, and the dam lake and creeks to swim and play in!

Pretty, classic state park In the middle of the mountains. Some of the structures date back to the CCC era. Great for families. The campground is smallish and we enjoyed one of the walk-in sites. The beach at the little lake is popular with day users as well as campers. Great hiking and mountain biking in the park and the surrounding Bald Eagle State forest. The valley to the north has a small Amish community with on-farm sale of various products.
