Guests can enjoy outdoor amenities including a fire pit, a stocked fishing pond, and fresh eggs upon request. You’re welcome to stroll the property, but please avoid the main residence’s deck, pool, and front yard. Fishing poles and tackle near the grill area are free to use—just return them after. Children must always be supervised around water.
Please park on the gravel driveway only. Chickens roam freely during the day, and while they’re friendly, the rooster can be protective. OUR NEW CABIN IS OPEN MAY 24, 2026!!!! Located on one acre of our 10 acre hobby farm, which includes 2 peacocks, chickens(only 1 rooster now, so it's much quieter!) AKC registered Show Collies, cats and a goat named Pickles. While we are still working on the outside, the interior is ready to give our guests very unique getaway. Our tent was fun, but a cabin was always the dream, and we are very excited to have our first cabin guests! A spacious 16 x 18 cabin built on the rocks for a very unique, relaxing, peaceful and comfortable off the grid experience. Situated on one acre of our property, you will be provided with queen size bed, comfortable daybed, reading space, game area and a coffee station. Plenty of battery candles and lighting, with a large Yeti battery for charging or electric needs. We also provide water for drinking and washing up. We have a cedar outhouse with composting toilet, no showers, as the cabin is completely off the grid. Firepit with plenty of seating to hang around in the evenings, pretty wooded views from the cabin to wake up to in the mornings. The cabin will accommodate 4 adults, and we do allow you to bring your own tent if you choose to do so, as we allow up to 6 campers per night.
REI BRAND tents for rent for an additional fee. We provide plates, utensils, cups, and some pans for cooking, and there is a gas grill provided. You will find a coffee maker with supplies for coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Lots of solar powered lights and string lights around the trees for a wonderful ambience in the evenings.
Our extras include firewood at $10/night, as well as homemade cookies, breads, fresh eggs, muffins, and even cupcakes or cakes can be ordered if you are celebrating a special day. Just get in touch a week before trip to let me know exactly what to bake for you. We can also provide some simple meals upon request. Check our extra list to see prices.

Nestled on a sprawling 40 acre farm just 15 miles from downtown Nashville, this cozy cabin is a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's beauty.
At the front of the property you will find horses in the paddocks as well as chickens, mini donkeys, a sheep, a pig, mini Highland cows, and dwarf Nigerian goats, all within the barnyard. A spring fed creek runs along the front of the property by the road and there is a stocked one acre pond near the main home. Also near the main home is treehouse "cabin" complete with a swinging bridge. Feel free to bring fishing poles, feed and pet the animals, and gather eggs early in the morning.
Tucked in the hollow of the surrounding ridges, the rustic cabin sits on the hillside with a small pond at the foot. A wide front deck with rocking chairs and a double glider overlooks the pond, offering a perfect spot to have coffee at sunrise or unwind beneath the stars.
The cabin is furnished with antiques, a fluffy queen bed, and an oversized bunk above. Although the cabin is meant to be a retreat from modern electronics, it does have a cieling fan, light, TV, and outlets powered by solar panels. There is an outdoor sink and small tankless hot water shower head, gravity fed by a water tank on the hillside. You will also find an RV toilet behind the cabin under the awning.

Though the hike up was EXTREME in terms of steepness, it was well worth it. The hideout was cozy, comfortable and we loved seeing all the notes and things people have left over the years. What a hidden gem! We stopped here on our way home and were pleasantly surprised by how pristine everything was. Darren was a thoughtful host who had fresh eggs waiting for us in the cabin. Between the gorgeous grounds, morning fishing, and evening trip to the river, it was the perfect place to unwind. There is nothing quite like the view from the front porch rocking chairs. We loved every second and 10/10 highly recommend staying here.

This place is exactly what I needed to recharge in nature. I stayed there to take a break from the high-stress period of life I am going through. It was the best decision I made. The land is so beautiful. Staying at and around the hut for 24 hours was like being hugged the whole time. There is a beautiful trail around the land that was stunning, the view of the hills was great, and seeing signs of spring was so joyful.
I had beautiful conversations with William. He showed me around his art gallery and all the beautiful pieces he has made. It was truly inspirational to see how living a simple life is so rewarding and motivated me to continue pursing living a simple life that’s in tune with nature.
No matter how much I will describe my stay, one needs to experience this land and camp for themselves to see the beauty, magic, and whimsy it has to offer.

This place was magical. You sleep in what was the original kitchen on the homestead, complete with a big rock fireplace, which you are welcome to use.
There is also a corn crib and a one room schoolhouse on the property along with the original log cabin.
Keith was the perfect host.

1 night at Beech Hollow Hideout
William was an incredibly kind and thoughtful host. The cabin itself is everything we hoped it would be, complete with wood stove, comfortable loft, and fresh spring water to drink. Furthermore, there’s a wonderful 1.5 mile circuit around the property which was perfect for hiking. Lovely creek flowing throughout. Will very likely be returning to this spot! Thank you, William

I had a great time with my 4 year old son! Upon arriving we hiked up to see what gear was available, before bringing up any of our own , and I left about 80% of what I brought along in my vehicle (I tend to overpack). All I needed was our bag with a change of clothes and our small cooler with milk and eggs to make pancakes. With water, blankets, and all cooking essentials provided, you could almost walk up with nothing but yourself and whatever food you’d like to cook (there is ramen, pancake mix, syrup, tea, and a few other things up there left behind by previous guests. (Bring paper plates to use for food but also kindling for the fire)
I loved using the wood stove, it makes you feel like you’re living in another time; and it’s just one more aspect of getting away from any semblance of city life. The temp outside at night was about 40 degrees. I had filled up the wood stove one last time around 8pm and it was almost too hot in the loft, but by 4am I was cold. I had to make another fire so we could get another couple hours of sleep.
If you have dog allergies, this isn’t the place for you as rocket and Beue (two amazing hound like dogs) will be your guide, but they will also expect payment via sausages.
Finally, a great host named William! He was friendly and made sure we had all we needed. On the morning of our last day he even took my boy on a four wheeler ride around the property and I think it unlocked a core memory.

Weekend Trip to Beech Hollow Hideout
William has it going on ! He makes amazing art, has cool goats, and dogs. The stay in the little cabin was awesome. The views from the cabin are amazing aswell. Theirs also a 1.5 mile hiking trail on the property. The out house was super nice. Everything on the property is hand built.
Ask him if he has anything cool for sale, he has more than art!
I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

It was such a relaxing night! We slept well. Learning the history of the land was very cool. Our dogs loved the cabin and running around the property. Keith has taken great care of the property and done it justice. We will definitely come back.

It was very peaceful at Helga's cabin. It's just a sweet, simple space to be quiet and enjoy some alone time with my dog. It was such a treat to be able to talk with Helga in the yard. I wish it had been warmer to sit on the porch and enjoy my coffee. Bad timing in weather (it was 20 degrees!), I would have loved to sit on the porch to drink my coffee. I also would have loved to have more time to chat with Helga. Hopefully there will be a next time!
