First camping family trip
Camp Site 12 at Black River was exactly the kind of camping trip I love. Super quiet, private, and felt like you were way out in the middle of nowhere in the best way possible. We heard owls at night, coyotes off in the distance, and even saw a snake swimming through the river which the kids thought was awesome. Mom and the kid saw a beaver swimming from their canoe.
The fishing was good too — lots of catfish fishing at night. One of the best parts was taking the canoe up and down the river, pulling off on different shores, and exploring around. The whole river has this wild prehistoric untouched feeling with the huge cypress trees and black water.
Sitting around the fire at night listening to the woods was hard to beat. If you like real camping, fishing, exploring, and getting away from everything for a few days, Site 12 is a great spot.
Lisa the host is extremely nice and friendly.
I’ve already booked our second trip! This time for three three nights!
