Dan is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles
West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and
cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! They hope you enjoy their place as much as they do! Feel free to ask them to show you around or even get your hands dirty with them as they plant or harvest.

Dan's Secluded Yurt Tent campsite on his farm offers a unique, off-the-grid camping experience that many visitors cherish. Guests consistently praise the serene and beautiful location, noting the spacious and clean yurts, private settings, and the warm hospitality provided by Dan. While the campsite's remote nature adds to its charm, some visitors found it challenging to locate, suggesting a need for clearer directions. Despite a few navigational hiccups, most campers leave with fond memories and a desire to return.
We had a great time at Dan's Stone Creek farm, the campsite was amazing and the host was very accommodating even with a busy weekend. Will be back for sure!
We stayed in the Secluded Yurt site, which is the furthest away. Loved it! The yurt tent is large. There’s a grill for charcoal cooking, a fire pit, picnic table under a tree providing shade, and a clean outhouse nearby. The walk from parking to the site is about a half mile and Adam has a cart available for use. There is water available near the parking area. Dan is easy to communicate with and responsive. Each of the 4sites are all very private. We saw and heard lots of different birds. Dan has great recommendations for things to do in the area, hikes, dining, etc. we will stay again!
Lovely camp site once we found it. GPS directions were incorrect. Would be helpful if host provided general directions (e.g., if coming East on Hwy 8, then...) and provide a sign or something to show you have arrived. My sister went the day before me and spent 2 hour driving the area trying to find it. Even with her giving me directions I would never have found it if she hadn't stood at the end of the driveway.
My family and I loved staying at Dan's farm in the Secluded Yurt Tent campsite! The yurt was spacious enough for our family of five, and the site included a grill and a picnic table. There are also so many nearby activities, including Interstate State Park and the Franconia sculpture park.
It was a perfect off-the-grid stay for a weekend with the kids and we would definitely go back!
Dan has a special place here. His care for the land speaks to you. I will always hold this place dearly for the remainder of my life, and I look forward to returning!
My fiancé and I had so much fun on Dan’s property. Our puppy probably loved it more than we did. The beach was only 4 minute drive it was amazing, not too busy and just gorgeous views. We will definitely be staying again!
Dan is a great host. My kids and I had so much fun. Such a neat experience to be camping and away from busy camp sites. My kids enjoyed doing some night hiking, loved the spacious tent, and being close to downtown Taylor’s falls. They were on the fence about camping- especially my teens, but by the end wanted to come back.
My friends and I had a wonderful time on Dan’s farm! He is extremely kind, welcoming, and accommodating - offering us peaches, apricots, and even homemade jam! He also gave us a personal tour of his property and the high tunnels for his fruit trees. We felt instantly relaxed and comfortable on the farm. The campsite was spacious, private, and clean. A great place to spend quality time and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors together! Hope to come back sometime in the future, I would recommend his farm to anyone. 😊
Staying on Dan's farm was a dream! The campsite was beautiful, private, and very well-maintained. The yurt was perfect for us - clean, spacious, and on a level platform. We especially loved meeting the chickens on the farm and taking an impromptu farm tour with Dan.
And Dan is unparalleled in his hospitality! When he saw the overnight temperatures were lower than we had expected, he offered us extra sweaters and hats to be comfortable. He is one of the most warm and kindhearted people you'll meet. We highly recommend!
Dan greeted us with a warm welcome, guidance on local attraction such as the bike trails, a clean lake to swim in, and where to cool down when the temperatures got hot. We were at the “plum perfect site” and it was very clean and spacious. We will admit we felt a bit spoiled not having to set up a tent or take one down, being able to stand up in the tent was another perk! The composting toilet was clean and conveniently located right at the site. We enjoyed seeing the chickens and liked the remote-ness of having to walk into the site. He provided us with a cart to transport our items - which added to the adventure! Would return to camp again!
We had a really good time with our two sons exploring the orchard playing games by our tent site listening to the birds and animals and roasting snores under the stars definitely would recommend and will be planning to go again soon!
Dan is very responsive. If you want to have a VERY private spot, Stone Creek Farms is great. Bugs can be bad, so put some pray on before you make the long walk to your site!
We loved the yurt, it was big enough to stash all our gear while we waited out the rain. Dan was very welcoming and the amenities - camp chairs, cooking grate, firewood for sale - were thoughtful.
Dan’s land is beautiful and serene. It is very close to Taylor’s Falls and convenient to anything you would need or want to do in the area. The tent was clean and in great shape as was the outhouse. So nice not to have to worry about tent set up! The fireflies were stunning and the summer sounds of the woods relaxing. It was the perfect place for our toddler’s first camping experience as the sites are spread out enough she could not disturb others if she were to struggle to sleep. Thankfully she did great and we can’t wait to return. Dan was even kind enough to hold a chicken close for our little girl to see up close and sent us off with beautiful fresh eggs for the week!
Dan was an exceptional host. Campsites were beautifully maintained and amenities were plentiful. My young 3 yr old son had a great time thanks to Dan. Highly recommended!
We had a great stay! The property is so relaxing and the perfect short getaway in nature. Dan is a welcoming and personable host who was a joy to meet and connect with.
The site was tidy with its own compostable outhouse. There was even four chairs set around the fire pit. The site was private and the sounds of nature was very refreshing. Dan has a very nice place with well cared for land. There are friendly chickens and a happy-go-lucky dog, who escorted me to my site the second night.. I would definitely recommend the site. Dan was very kind and accommodating as well. He also provides wagons to tote your things.
Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses.
We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!
I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people.
It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt.
Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!
Dan's farm is a refuge. I'd recommend his camp sites to anyone looking to slow down and tap into the ease that's accessible on this land. Dan was a generous and kind host. We're looking forward to returning.
Dan was an excellent host, he provided a nice outhouse that was well kept. The tent was the perfect size. And it was gorgeous on his land. I'd go back in a heartbeat. There are plenty of things to do in the area and stores are relatively close if anything is needed.
We head back to Stone Creek Farm every year. It's so beautiful there, and easy with tents already set up for you. With Franconia, Taylors Falls, and lots to do nearby, it's the perfect weekend getaway for us and our kids.
Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.
We loved the tent, we forgot to get our jackets, but Dan is so generous, he noticed and gave 4 us jackets and beanies, it is nice and cozy, Our family had a blast with trails and in Dan’s farm, My younger daughter who is 8 not a camping girl but this time she said “can we stay longer here”. This is a wonderful experience. We are really looking forward to comeback again soon. Thanks Dan for being such a wonderful host.
Beautiful, quiet campsite was a great place to relax for the weekend! We heard and saw lots of wildlife, migrating sandhill cranes and trumpeter swans, and tons of coyotes. Close to lots of fun activities like the state park and sculpture garden. Dan was super kind and welcoming. He’s an amazing steward of the land.
This is our second summer having a camping adventure at Stone Creek. Dan’s hospitality is incredible and the site is perfect. It made a fun and relaxing long weekend!
