5 stars are not enough to rate this place. Besides the obvious fact that it's extremely inexpensive it's also set on very picturesque land. The Etienne family is very genuine and generous. They are a prime example of the American family.

Great place to stay for a while or a short time. Bathroom is a bit of a trek from where we were at but the hosts are amazingly kind and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

Private site, could just see the raspberry bushes ahead. Nice site for a fire, bring a good size grate if you don’t have a grill. They left wood, there was plenty of kindling nearby in the woods as well. The farm was beautiful, very nice folk. Would stay again!

This was our first Hipcamp experience and may I say it was a good one! We were greeted with smiles and shown where we could camp. We did not have a lot of interaction with the family as we arrived late and left early, but everyone was polite!

Marvel's super hero family

Joseph and Claire are the nicest people you will ever meet. Claire greeted me at check-in and escorted me down the road to my site. She shared that there was not too much to explore in the area and I may bet bored. I informed her that I enjoyed road cycling and she offered a variety of options of varying distances. I found the surrounding towns to have plenty of activities for me. There was a wonderful hiking trail in the town of Houlton, as well as a driving range and a beautiful 9 hole golf course just a few miles away from Joseph and Claire's. I was never bored. Even when I strained my knee hiking, I caught up on reading and the latest stages of the Tour de France. :-) The family owns and operates their farmland (over 100 acres), so they are busy and depending on the season, there may be equipment moving about. I grew up close to farms, so I enjoy the sound of tractors, ATVs and the like. Make sure to take advantage of their berry picking. As a bonus, I was having problems with my electrical system and Joseph came over and was able to troubleshoot it in minutes. You can feel the strong family values the moment you meet them. Stop in and see for yourself.

This is an absolutely beautiful, quiet spot. It's a working farm with contained animals and berry and melon fields. The host, Joseph, and his children were very kind and accommodating. We were given options and chose an impressively large site behind the raspberry fields. It was in a very private, level grassy field nestled in a nice wooded area. A fire ring with wood was provided as was a large picnic table. The entire farm including the site was very clean. The toilet and water were just a short walk. 10/10 Absolutely recommend.

Perfect hipcamp

All hipcamps should be like this one. Easy to find, very responsive host, and very reasonable price. Plus...it is in a beautiful location atop a hill on a working farm over looking fruit bushes and a field of daisies. There were a million stars and fireflies, and yes, mosquitos too. It is an act of generosity for the hosts to make this place available. Thank you.

Long lasting memories

What could be better than an RV site with a 50 amp service and water available with peaceful views of a pasture with Tuesday the horse frolicking happily awaiting visitors. Lovely places to walk and views of distance hills. The family will touch your heart with their unwavering love for children in need.

The family were friendly and flexible hosts through and through. We were greeted by some friendly pups when we drove into the farm. Water and a flushing toilet were accessible about a half mile from our site. The west facing field provides beautiful views, (even better on a clear night) while still having privacy and shade in the site. The site had good level ground for tenting, and there was plenty of room to park the car. The site was spacious enough for a couple of tables and chairs that we brought, as well as a provided picnic table and fire pit. Joseph also went above and beyond accommodating us when we had car issues on the journey to the farm.

We feel very fortunate to be able to camp on this farm. We stayed in site 5 with 50 amps and water as needed. If you are in the area for a month or longer, its ideal. Truly a lovely and serene location. The family is joyful and lots of laughter can be heard from time to time. Plenty of space to roam!

Such a nice spot. The host was great, showing us the different options for parking. Their farm is a quiet, safe place to overnight fairly close to the Canadian border. We would highly recommend, and would use again.

Great place to stay.

Quite, safe and secure place to stay. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Short ride to Canada. About 10 min to the nearest town. Beautiful grounds. We enjoyed staying here. We would recommend this sight to anyone wanting to stay in the area or going into Canada.

I stayed one night at Site #1 and was very pleased. It was extremely quiet with a beautiful view in the morning. I had no problems finding the farm and was directed to my site immediately after I arrived. The only thing you might need to be aware of is that the road in to the site was up and down and a bit rutted. I just went slowly and had no problems with clearance. I don't know what the other sites were like as I didn't hear or see any other campers. I would definitely come back to Sunnyside Farm again in the future.

Amazing quiet farm, great location.

We had a super friendly welcome to the farm. The communication was great. They even had electric hookup for the RV and a safe pasture for our horses. Perfectly located close to i95 and the Border. It is super quiet, there are lots of fields and trails to wander around. Going to come back when we travel south again.

Beautiful getaway!

Claire was an absolute joy and pleasure to meet along with her adorable crew of kids! The farm is incredibly beautiful and serene. I felt welcomed, safe and in total bliss at this location and would easily camp here again! We had a great time enjoying the trails on the property and getting to build a fire for the evening. This was a great location close to Houston and New Brunswick! Thank you so much for offering your home to Gizmo and I ! We look forward to returning :)

Kindness Shines at Sunnyside Farm

The Joseph-Etienne family is lovely. Hospitable, friendly, and kind. We visited during the time of the total solar eclipse and the unseasonably warm temperatures created unexpected challenges for accommodating vehicles on the muddy access roads. But everyone made it work. We all had such a great time meeting one another and enjoying the farm animals and the farm environment. As is made clear in the description, this is a working farm, so visitors should be prepared for the reality of animal barns, compost piles, farm machinery, etc. Bring our boots!

Camping on a Farm

My trip didn't go well - I never made it to Sunnyside Family Farm (my problem, not theirs). I wish we could have seen the place. I was impressed with Joseph-Etienne's communications and instructions before the stay. They told us about the farm and what to expect. Being from Maine, we understand mud season, and appreciated the heads up. Directions were clear, and information about the area was very helpful. I would definitely book this place again the next time I'm up that way.
