Welcome to our little retreat in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We've got 24 acres of mostly Aspen Forest with oaks and maples. There's around 3km trails and a seasonal stream. We're located just 15 minutes from Lake Superior and Lake Nebagamon for fishing, swimming, and boating and 20 minutes from the twin ports of Superior and Duluth. Enjoy the touristy sites of the twin ports and then retreat to a quiet rural rustic campsite for a fire and conversation at the end of the day. We have 15amp electric on our solar microgrid and we're working to add more everyday! Gichi-apiitenimaanaanig Meskwaabikikejig, Wenamanikejig, gaa-wenjibaawaad omaa miinawaa Anishinaabeg daawaad geyaabi ge-ganawendamowaad o’o aki. Ginisidawaabandaamin Gichigabegikendaasowigamig Miskwaa-Gete-Oodenang ateg Ojibwewakiing. Bizaan minjimendamog gaye jiikendamog ezhi-gizhi-inendaagwag gakina akiin. In honor of the Anishinaabe people, the original peoples and caretakers of this land, we would like to recognize that we inhabit the land of the Ojibwe people. We would like to take this space to honor and celebrate ancestral Ojibwe land and the sacred lands of all Indigenous peoples.***Please read the discription fully.*** Our site offers a unique and wild retreat for the outdoorsy. Located in a large clearing right next to the road (dead end road with our property and one other house) the campsite is large enough to fit campers 25ft and under (any larger and it might be difficult to back in from the narrow road but not impossible). There is 15amp electric service from our solar microgrid (please no microwaves/electric heaters/AC) which should run most electronics. Plenty of room for additional tents. Comes with a fire pit, fire grate, and a selection of firewood. Please make sure all fires occur in the stone fire circle or in a contained grill. It's super easy to come and go, a short drive from the Twin Ports and Lake Nebagamon, and really close to the Lake Superior Circle Tour. Enjoy the fire pit outside under the bright stars while roasting marshmallows. The Roadside Rest campsite is a packed gravel base. Other Things to Note: ***Please read the discription fully.*** This is a cleared area with camper pad and fire ring only. We're working on getting an outhouse built but as of now there's no toilet, we are located a 5 minute drive from Amnicon Falls State Park which has toilet facilities, or a 10 minute drive to the nearest Gas Station. The site has no running water so guests will need to bring their own water and food for drinking and cooking. Please keep in mind that this is a rustic camping experience. If you are looking for the full Oakbrook Experience, we are happy to meet our guests upon check-in to provide a tour of the land and our Tiny House, located on site, as well as provide a trail map. Message us to get the tour!
