Camping at this site offers a peaceful and secluded escape, with many visitors praising the natural beauty and privacy of the surroundings. The host, Tommy, consistently receives high marks for being welcoming and responsive, enhancing the overall experience. While the location is generally well-maintained, some guests noted issues such as a sloping campsite and high grass during summer. Despite occasional cell reception challenges, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many campers planning to return.

This was a great camping spot. Very highly recommend. I have already told a couple of friends what a great spot this is.
I started texting Tommy a few days prior to our arrival and he was always very responsive. He met us when we arrived and told us he was around if we needed anything.
Our spot was very private and quiet along the woods. There were some other people in the other campsite, but we couldn’t really hear them and couldn’t see them.
The site had a little slope, but there were some blocks of wood there to use to get leveled. Most of our camping is dispersed in the national forests, so we are accustomed to doing this.

I stayed for 3 nights, just myself and my senior pug Lexi. Tommy greeted me when I arrived to make sure everything was good and to text him if I needed anything. Super nice guy!! This place is so beautiful and peaceful! I found the place with no problems, I definitely recommend staying here. If I end up staying longer in West Virginia then I might go back for a few more days, lol… Cell phone reception isn’t great but you do have some service. Thank you Tommy for being so helpful and kind, you have a very sweet granddaughter too!!

Perfect stay on a long road trip. Tommy is an awesome host and the spot was beauriful, clean and quiet. Exvept for falling asleep to the sound of the frogs ❤️✌️. 5 stars. Thanks Tommy
Tommy is a welcoming host. Quick response to text. Freshly mowed site. The view of the blue moon as it was rising in the night sky was epic!
Very peaceful at night.

We had a great family camping trip here! The campsite was a good size and felt very private, which made it easy to relax and enjoy nature. It’s also just a short drive to Coopers Rock, making it a great location for exploring the area. We would definitely stay again!

Great spot! Super private, primitive, tons of fire wood, running stream, trails for my kiddos. would stay again!!!
Beautiful land with a great view of the stars. It felt very private which was ideal for us. We explored some of the trails and saw an abundance of frogs and even deer. The host was kind enough to let our dogs roam off leash and they had a blast!
Tom is very accommodating and hospitable.
His camp sites are very well maintained.
The views are incredible!!
The site was quiet and secluded. There were other campers in the other site, but I couldn’t see them through the trees. The sites are separated by a small pond, trees, and a ravine. Tommy is super nice and checked in on his bicycle a few times to make sure I didn’t need anything. I’ll definitely be going back.
Absolutely loved camping here even in the snow. The property was gorgeous and T1 was very private. Location was great for hiking with Snake Hill wildlife management area right down the road. Tommy was an excellent host, replied very quickly and was very generous. Would recommend, definitely going to return in the summer for the swimming hole.
Lovely spot. Had a great time stargazing and listening to the wildlife. Was really nice to see coopers rock during the day and stay in a quiet spot at night. Host was really nice and made sure we were comfortable but left us to it for the weekend.
Tommy's place is gorgeous land! There are nice fields and woods. It felt entirely safe for women to camp alone. It was easy to find using the instructions and we didn't need 4wd. Would definitely go back!
Tommy is delightful and didn't make fun of me when I said I saw a big bear. It was really a cow in the neighbor's pasture, way off in the distance.

Just what we needed; quiet, relaxing, easy. Thank you.
This was perfect for what I was needing. Nothing fancy, a field on the edge of the woods with a firepit. It felt very private, but wasn't far at all from the road. I parked near my site so I didn't have to haul anything to my site. Great experience!
Great peaceful stay on Tommy’s farmland, and he was so accommodating! He came out to meet me at the road going into his usual camping area, and when I expressed concerns about my van’s low clearance, he let me camp up on a gravel driveway that was level-ish that led to his horse barn. It was much closer to the road, but there isn’t a lot of traffic - so this was a great idea and big favor on his part to help me out. The road from Snake Hill Road to his farm was narrow, but the neighbors were very nice in getting over to help with passing one another. All in all, a great place at a great price - and I’d stay again if in the area.

What a nice guy Thomas was very hospitable.
Very close to cheat lake yet far enough away from chaos of the lake.
Saw so many stars in the night sky!
Very nice camping spot would recommend checking it out!!
TOMMY IS SO NICE! He gave good advice about swimming in the area and caution about bears and coyotes (basically that we were fine). There was a fire pit with two chairs and logs to sit on. And lots of choices of where to set up the tent. Getting there was super easy too we drive a corrolla and we’re fine. He only cautioned about the grass road being slippery in the rain but we were fine. A great time and very welcoming!

Great place to enjoy the outdoors, peace, and quiet. The host, Tommy, is friendly and a great host for things to do in the area. There is a huge fire pit and a grill top for it, which I used to cook some chicken and sausages. I recommend staying and plan to go back for more rest and relaxation. Thank you for the amazing time at your campground.

Beautiful, well maintained rustic site in an Appalachian Forest near the rim of the Cheat Canyon. Great base camp for nearby activities like hiking or climbing at Snake Hill Wildlife Management Area or visiting the area’s historical sites. There’s also a zoo (no kidding!) a short drive away. Even with fun things to do nearby, the site itself is worth the visit if you’re looking to relax in peace and quiet. There are no facilities so plan to be be self sufficient for all your needs and you'll have a wonderful time.
A bit out of the way and we found the last roads there a bit difficult with our A class RV. Didn't trust the slight slope with potentially wet grass down to the actual campsite, despite assurances by the host. But host was nonetheless friendly and said it's ok for us to stay just outside, as long as we're clear of the road. For those who do venture into the campsite though it's very spacious and secluded, even has a fire place. Great for the price.

Very quiet and peaceful (except for the bullfrogs, which I thought sounded very cool). Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful area, very private site if no one else is camping there.
3 sites to chose from, hike around a little before choosing your spot. T1 site looks really cool but we showed up at night.
There’s a cabin by the swimming pond that looks like it’s possibly under renovation.
Sites in woods could use some maintenance but still a place I’d like to return.
Very quiet.
Close to Snake Hill Nature Reserve - great hiking views and some rock climbing close by too.
Coopers rock is about 30min away, also with great views, hiking, and rock climbing.
We like trying new sites, this is one we’d probably come back to.
