It's time to try to find out, how nice it is to camp on your own campsite amidst 6 wooded acres alongside Bear Creek, with Bear Stream running through the middle of it. Quiet and private, with paths and trails on the property. Dry firewood is provided there at the campsite. There is a charcoal grill ready to use, though you must bring your own charcoal. A small RV onsite provides a bathroom and shelter, but camping by the creek, listening to the water running is the way to do it. The site is also very private and naturist ready, and a perfect place for your dogs or your children to run free, so it's time to get back to nature. Since guests have the whole site, they can decide whether it's clothing optional or not. With the new boat launch site near Capon Bridge, on the Cacapon river nearby, and a few more upriver towards Wardensville, it's a great site for kayakers or canudists to plan river outings and stay nearby. There are multiple places to set up tents, or hammocks, either at the main campfire ring, or at several sites away from the main campsite. Throughout spring, rear wheel drive is recommended, and 4 wheel drive might be needed, and during the summer if heavy rain is expected. I would not recommend front wheel drive cars being used there in the spring, unless it is dry out. The RV is limited to two adults, and two to three children, for sleeping, due to it's size. Heading west, is the Canaan Valley and Davis and Thomas, WV. Both towns have many things worth visiting and are close together, and Winchester is 30 minutes away for supplies.Enjoy privacy and get back to nature at naturist friendly Bear Creek, where peace and quiet and the sounds of the stream are what camping is all about. Rest and relaxation were the goal for my stay and Jim's property delivered. There was plenty of seasoned firewood for the firepit and an RV, if needed. Jim is a great host and is nearby should you need him.

We had such an incredible weekend! The site was private and the amenities (RV with water and a toilet) were fabulous. Jim was friendly and welcoming.

Jim was a fantastic host, really enjoyed talking to him and having him show me all of the cool spots around the campsite. This is a great clothing optional spot, highly recommend!

I had a great peaceful retreat from civilization for a couple nights staying at Jim's site. From booking, to arrival, and past day check-in, Jim was such a great host and was an awesome communicator. He gave great directions and met me upon arrival for greeting. His dog, name already skips my mind unfortunately, was equally as cool. Just how you'd picture it. We had a nice tour of the RV and the property, chatted for a good while over some good conversation. Jim is a steward of the land, and you can tell he has great care and love for everything on it, from the tree tops to the ants, which he promised were harmless, and they were :). The rv itself was well equipped and was crucial for night 1 as a bad storm rolled through for about 20 mins. It stayed cool during the day with well ventilation and the bed above the cab was more comfortable than was expecting. The sound of the babbling brook and other sounds of nature while you lay in the camper was my Walden moment. Thank you, Jim and pup! See you guys again soon!

Jim's camp spot is a 10 out of 10! I'd deduct one point for coyotes all night, but nothing he can do about that! Plenty of firewood was available. Chairs and table were provided. Very dog friendly. A small creek is nearby for dish water. The RV was cool and definitely a luxury! The women appreciated a civilized restroom. Jim is super friendly and respectful. It's obvious he's worked hard to get the spot ready for campers.

So wonderful!! The space is amazingly beautiful and private- very peaceful. The host, Jim, provides great firewood, fire ring, table, chairs, dog-friendly, idyllic woodsy setting. We can’t wait to come back- the path to get there can be tricky but we’ll worth it- Jim helped us when our 21’ front-wheel-drive rig had trouble and we were good to go. Can’t say enough about how much we loved this spot. We also appreciated booking at the very last minute. Host was incredibly accommodating- we’d give 10+ stars if we could!

Great site, friendly host. The RV came in super handy as it rained a ton and gave us a warm and dry place to play games. The firewood was also super helpful.

This site has it all. Privacy, no other camp sites nearby. My dog could go off leash. Camper on site with private toilet. Four comfortable chairs and two side tables provided. Picnic table provided. Nice creek that sounds wonderful and my dog loved. Host is a great communicator. In late May, still no mosquitos.

Lovely spot. Grateful to Jim for renting it to just one group at a time. Our dog had the time of his life and we had wonderful, quiet respite. His RV provides water and a toilet, that worked well for us. The firewood pile was amazing. Jim is an attentive, responsive and friendly host. I highly recommend his campsite!

Mr. Jim’s hidden paradise was just that, and I’m here mid March! Arrived at a beautiful, clean camp, fire pit full and ready to go; ample cut, stacked and cover firewood 😁 The bright stars, and sound of the Brook in the evening… breathtaking. Mr. Jim was a fantastic host, I felt privileged to be his first ever Hip Camper. Jim’s the kindest, coolest, most down to earth gentleman I’ve met in a very long time! He went above and beyond for my pup and I, even provided a gorgeous camper for us to use the restroom, and sleep in as it rained and became windy. Worse part of this trip… having to leave! Will definitely be back soon!
