The farm was super quiet and chill. We camped at the forest perch on the hill and setup our hammocks facing west so we could watch the full moon rising, sunrises from bed and stargaze. There were good breezes through the oak grove and lots of nice shade in the early fall heat. Hosts were super accommodating and one of the gentleman who lives there in a tiny was super gracious to help us out with a morning issue.

We loved our experience on Amy and Aaron’s land! Amy was so welcoming, communicative, and helpful for tips of things to do and see in the area. We camped in a beautiful little oak/Pine Grove. The crickets came out in the evening, which was lovely and they were no bugs. The weather was perfect. Our toddler enjoyed all of the animals and swings on their beautiful property. Bought eggs and picked pears. This was our first hip Camp experience and it was lovely.

Camping here was great! It was a lovely spot, with trees, well maintained porta-potty and faucet/spigot for water. Our kids loved running around, exploring, and playing with the kids who live there. The hosts are so kind to let campers play on their playground! The farm animals are all so gentle and friendly - the dogs were my personal favorite, and we felt adopted by them the whole time. Overall a great time - relaxing and fun. Highly recommend!

We booked a couple nights but left after one. The farm animals were fun for the two kids in our party (aged 7 and 10), but the ugly sprawl of empty beer cans, busted toys and other detritus spread along the road to our campsite appalled the adults. If you camp to commune with nature, this is not the place for you.

Very convenient location close to windsurfing sites. Nice large campsite with a picnic table and fire ring. Beautiful trees provide some shade. A flock of wild turkeys strolled through my site!

Loved our stay at their farm! The family was super kind, welcoming, and helpful. They had a peaceful property with amazing views. All of their animals were really friendly and it really felt like a safe and happy place to stay, will definitely be open to staying there again if I’m in the area!

Another great weekend at Roots Rise. We love the quiet, woodsy spot down in the valley. Many views of the local nature including a wild turkey parade every morning. The fresh eggs from the farm provided us a tasty breakfast.
Restrooms are kept very clean and Amy is quick with communication.

A wonderful place to stay. Great camp hosts. Very welcoming and easy going. Great place for kids and dogs alike. Loved the animals on the farm. I loved that my kids were safe and could roam freely. Also, the extra offerings for soap, eggs and photography made it that much more special.

We loved camping here! Amy and Aaron and their family were nothing but extremely welcoming and accomodating. Our 6 year old got to play with their kids, running around with the goats, chickens and ducks, and use the play structures around the house. As parents we loved that the kids were safely on the property and there was no real risk of them leaving the property/not close to a dangerous road or something. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area, but just hanging out at our campsite was lovely too! It was ideal to borrow a little radioflyer cart to bring some things to our campsite (water jugs for example) and borrow an extra camping chair. Camping with kids here is wonderful, and I can't recommend it enough. Also, there was a pleasant breeze almost every night which really helped with mosquitos. Thank you Amy and Aaron - we will be back!

Such a lovely weekend camping! Many spaces to choose from on the property. We had ample room in a shaded valley. Perfect for relaxing and sitting next to the fire. Amy was a fantastic host. Very welcoming and kind. The farm fresh eggs were the highlight of our breakfast. The porta potties were clean and well stocked.

Roots Rise Family Farm
This was our second visit to Roots Family Farm and this time we brought friends! We were able to find a site in the Pines that accommodated a large Airstream and our smaller teardrop trailer. Potable water on site and the port a potties were clean headed into the three day weekend. It’s a short drive to many activities. Amy was so welcoming and we’re looking forward to coming back again.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts with a beautiful chunk of land to share! There were porta potties on the farm that were super clean when we arrived. Beautiful view of Mt Adams & a wonderful location tucked up in the mountains, but close enough to get to so many nature hikes & swimming holes. Thanks for having us!

So special! Thank you for the stay! The site had dabbled shade, near the porta potty and had great bird watching opportunities. I saw two acorn woodpeckers above my tent one morning and heard turkeys nearby. Peaceful place to write, read and relax. All of the farm animals are so friendly. Great location near a bunch of local hikes. This place is an absolute dream.

We had a great experience overall. The host was very accommodating and responsive. The porta potty was very clean and the grounds were well cared for. We definitely recommend the farm fresh eggs! At night, there was loud barking from a neighbor’s dog and loud turkey gobbling right across the street. Both at no fault of the host! Keep in mind, you are on someone’s property and are not isolated. It is close to state land, which made for great hiking!

Roots Rise Family Farm
I arrived after dark and Apple Maps took me most of the way successfully. The property is adjacent to the Centerline Highway so keep right on Rowland Road and do not head up the hill away from the highway. Our site was nice at the edge of the woods with a good view of the sky. We were treated to a visit from wild turkeys in the morning. Our dogs had a great time too and did not have any interaction with the resident dogs.

Hosts were great communicators, directions were clear, we found a spot with plenty of privacy, and pups were sweethearts! Great location in terms of access to hikes, etc. There was a little more road noise than we expected, along with some nearby generators in the evening, but things quieted down in the night. Overall- nice spot!

Easy to find. We arrived around 4:30 pm and were still able to find a great spot. Not crowded. The port-o-potty was pretty clean. Quiet location. Beautiful view of Mt. Adams at the top of the hill.

Great spot, we camped down below in the woods. Could barely hear the roosters! Eggs were awesome. Pretty dry so no fire for us. Quiet, eclectic, and close to lots of activities. If you are kite boarding in Lyle, its just 5 minutes up the hill.

Our family loved our one night stay. We rolled in when it was blazing hot and found shade and breeze under the oak(?) trees towards the bottom of the hill. We had the hammocks up to beat the heat and then spent the evening on the zipline. Beautiful and peaceful spot.
