Welcome to Olympic Wanderer! This fairy-tale nature retreat creekside cabin will wow you with its stellar location, lush grounds, hot-tub, and stylish interior. The cabin is nestled in a forested community next the hood canal, famous for its rich waters and shellfish harvesting. This is the perfect base for your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula, and is a great central location close to endless amazing hiking trails, including Olympic NP and multiple state parks less than 10 minutes away. The highlight of the cabin is the log bridge across the creek! You will feel like you are on an amazing hiking trail or in a fairytale on the rainforest-like grounds with a babbling brook or rushing creek running through it depending on how much rain we have had. Our property is directly across the street from access to the national forest service roads with miles of roads and trails. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.Our cabin is the perfect home base to explore the Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Park. Within 10 minutes are several beautiful state parks, hood canal access, waterfalls, and hiking trails and kayaking galore. Our property is located directly across the street from access to national forest service roads to explore with your off road vehicles. The property itself is a great place to relax, enjoy a fire creekside, relax in the hammock, or take a long soak in the hot tub. The cabin is rustic but comfortable and provides all the basics needed for cooking and spending IfYou are lucky you might get a glimpse of our local elk herd! We are allow a max of 2 dogs and there is an additional $50 pet fee to cover extra cleaning. Please message us at the time of booking to add dogs to reservation and make arrangements for the pet fee. Olympic Wanderer-Creekside Retreat
We used this cabin as a base for exploring the forests and parks on the Olympic peninsula, and we had a blast. We were able to explore everything we wanted to, and return to a nice cozy and quiet cabin to rest and recover for the next day's dventures. The cabin had everything we needed for relaxing, and the hosts were responsive and had help available if anything small came up. Great place, would rent again if in the area.

Our young kids really enjoyed staying here. The cabin and its amenities were just as described and shown in the photos. One thing that could be improved is the beds. The mattresses were not as comfortable as we would have hoped and were squeaky. Its location would be good if you plan to explore areas south towards Hoodsport and areas north towards Port Townsend.

It’s a cozy cabin but it’s definitely in the remodel phase so you’ll see some items that need repair or are being actively worked on. However, the outdoor space is amazing and it felt very private.

Perfect Summer Getaway with Pets

This place was fantastic. We came here with some friends and our dogs and it was the perfect getaway. It had a perfect cozy cabin, large outdoor space outback with a creek and fire pit, and an awesome hot tub that kept nice and warm. The deck up top was the perfect place to have brunch and the surrounding area is filled with nice hikes. The only downside is the lack of reliable internet for handheld devices but with the outdoors and perfect streaming we hardly even noticed. Ideal place to keep us and the pets entertained. Would definitely come back and planning to.

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed ar the Olympic Wanderer in early June 2025. Olympic National Forest has been on our bucket list for WA for the past 2 years of being stationed in WA. It was exactly as I expected! We had a wonderful weekend of tandem kayaking & baby crab exploration in the beautiful lake! After, my husband & I soaked in the hot tub and then we made more family memories with a camp fire and making s'mores! After that, we played a family card game before bed. We were up early enough before check out to have a quiet cup of coffee before we packed up and drove over 2 hours home. They have everything you need such as drinkable water, coffee pods, TV with movie apos, free wifi, bath toiletries, bedding, a good size fridge with freezer, peace & quiet, a/c for both upstairs and downstairs, some games & puzzles and dishware. Bring your own s'more items, skewers, logs, and fire fluid- and you're all set! I would absolutely stay here again! My twin 12 yr olds & 7 year wanted to stay longer! If I could suggest a few things to help the stay, it would be have the grass mowed- ad it was over grown and made it hard to not trip over roots and stones. And additional recycling- as all the recycling bins on the curb were full to the brim from previous occupants. Note: None of this would delay the amazing time we had- just suggestions

Wonderful wandering - Oly Nat Park

My wife, 2 sons (6 &5) and I had a lovely week staying at the Wanderlust Cabin. The pictures don’t do the property justice! The creek running through the property, the proper fire pit, all the games in the cabin, and of course, the proximity to Hood Canal and Olympic National Park made our stay a blast. Our kids have already asked if we can come back, and we will!

Olympic Wanderer-Creekside Retreat
My partner, friends, and I had a great time at the Olympic Wanderer cabin! There's plenty of sleeping room, a cozy kitchen, ping pong table, hot tub, beautiful little stream in the back yard, a big fire pit, and a TV with tons of dvds to finish the night with. Lots of fun outdoors activities! We brought our rescue dog on his first camping trip here and he had a great time.

Cute spot buried in a secluded, calm and pristine woods, just on the east side of Olympic National Forest near Brinnon. Was exactly what we were looking for: A quiet getaway from the daily hustle and bustle of big cities. Great hosts whom supplied all the amenities you’d expect and then some. Thank you!

Our family had a great time. The cabin was rustic, cozy, and clean. There were plenty of activities to do at the cabin. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute, cozy, not-too-fussy cabin. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and made a nice homemade steak dinner to eat on the table on the porch. We appreciated the binder with local recommendations, and the host was helpful/communicative. It was a big plus that we could bring our pup!

Olympic Wanderer-Creekside Retreat
The Olympic Wanderer was a lovely retreat for my family. The cabin is very cozy. The hot tub felt great. There were a lot of activities for us to do with our 11 year old. We played in the creek, basked in the sun on the beautiful bridge, had a campfire, played pool and darts, explored the area. Holland was super responsive and gave us a lot of recommendations. She recommended Rocky Bluff Falls and it did not disappoint! Easy to get to and the waterfall was massive. Beds were warm and comfortable. I did not want to leave. Hope to visit again!

We (my wife and my 5 year old son) had amazing stay here. Great location. Host provided amazing recommendation on what to do around and where to eat. We enjoyed the hike to the Murhut Falls which was really close by. Hot tun was amazing. Wi-fi was good enough to have some zoom meetings.

It's a lovely getaway in the Olympic peninsula a short drive from Hoodsport, Duckabush, and Dosewallips. The beds are comfy. The kitchen is well supplied with cookware and utensils. There's even a coffee maker, hot tub, and pool table! Really a wonderful getaway.

The photos do not do this cabin justice! My family and I stayed only a couple nights and I wish we had planned for another couple. I hesitated writing a good review, only because that means more people will learn about this wonderful little gem and then I'll never be able to find availability to book again. We will definitely be back in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Holland’s home. Beautiful property, and a cozy home to hang out at after exploring. The hot tub was such a nice treat for our sore muscles!

We had a great time at this lovely little home in Brinnon! The covered hot tub was relaxing during a downpour and the indoor fireplace was a pleasure to cuddle up in front of. We were close to so many trails! We are already excited to book another stay during the summer :)
