24 ft travel trailer · With pets · Left a message letting the host know, well before their closing time, that I would be arriving about 15 minutes after the office closed and asked if there was anything I needed to do other than let them know I’d arrived. No response via the app, phone call or text. When I’d arrived, my site that I had reserved, was taken and I couldn’t get ahold of the host still. Ended up taking a smaller spot and parking, hoping I wasn’t taking someone else’s reserved spot. I had 2 dogs and 2 children who all had been driving for over 4 hours and all needed out. Didn’t receive a call until almost 9pm, and was told I was good where I was. Told the owner I would be in the office in the morning to figure out the situation. No one was in the shop all weekend anytime I stopped by, overpaid for a smaller spot, and just bad communication. The place is very nice and very well taken care of, so assuming something was going on that I wasn’t aware of. Things happen, but need to be better at communication.
