This is a 10 acre camp of wooded hills. This campsite currently has an rv pad for rent and a featured camp site with a hobbit house. Soon to be more tent sites. There is a firewood stand on site and bundles are only $5! The hobbit house is built back into a hillside and is underground, round doors, and arched ceiling stays true to hobbit architecture. This is a glamping opportunity. Inside the hobbit house there is a full bed for two, with a quality mattress and an adjustable bed frame that has a motor to lift body to sit up or you can raise legs. There is power inside and a small microwave for cooking. 30 feet away is a sink for cleaning and good drinking water. There is a bathroom area a short way down the hill with a flushing toilet and heated shower. Outdoors includes a fire pit, a few small springs and ponds and lots of trails to explore. Your shelter and mattress will be top notch, however this is still a campground and you need to be prepared as a camper. Currently we do not have a refrigerator, bring your own cooler. No silverware, or plates are provided. You can heat things in the microwave or cook over the fire. Bring whatever utensils are needed. Within a couple miles of our location is Lewis River Golf Course, as well as popular water spotd of Merwin Lake Park, and floating the Lewis River. We have a scavenger hunt set up on the trails of our property if you want the challenge of finding our targets as you walk the trails.The Hobbit house sits on 10 acres of wooded hills. Rob’s land was perfect. You can see all the love that went into the Hobbit Hole. The land was cozy and peaceful. Our dogs loved it too!!! We will go back.

Such a beautiful space! It was real rainy and slippery so did not quite make it all the way up the hill in my subaru outback but that was no problem at all. Awesome bed came with bedding and pillows and an electric fireplace so it was cozy the whole night. Really appreciated staying here!

Camping with our dog

The Hobbit House was a perfect little getaway for my partner and I with our large dog. We had a fun time walking the trails and doing the scavenger hunt (we got all but 3 of them). Our 2 wheel drive Honda didn't make it all the way up to the house, but we didn't mind the short walk. We ran into Rob on the trails and he was a very friendly host.

Rob was very accommodating when we had to short notice add on a few days to our stay. The space also felt very private and quiet. It was only 15 minutes into the town of Woodland, and surrounded by trees if you like the woodsy vibe!

Hobbit House
The Hobbit House was such a beautiful stay, nestled in the side of a hill in a very quiet area. The surroundings were fun to see on the designed scavenger hunt. The neighbour dog is well-trained and left us alone for our stay (we have a reactive dog). The electric fireplace kept us very warm throughout the night. I felt the outhouse was really clean though we didn’t use the shower. The sink right near the Hobbit House was also very convenient!

Hobbit House
My friends and I had a WONDERFUL time Rob’s Hobbit hideout. My car (two-wheel drive) couldn’t make it halfway up the hill, but we made it work. There’s running water, a toilet and shower down the hill, and the hobbit hole stays warm with the heater. There’s electricity too! The ground is grassy (with some blackberry bramble but nothing where we were walking) and a beautiful view of the opposite hillside. We even had a good clear view of the sky at night! The firepit has a grill over it and I used my cast iron and we made some Chunk steaks and corn. There’s a table to stand around and some tree trunks to sit on. There are also more chairs inside the hobbit hole with another table (and microwave. Rob came up once in our stay to say hi and make sure we were doing okay, otherwise we had our privacy and it was so much fun. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet get away!!

Relaxing stay

Rob was a friendly host, and the hobbit house itself was very private and secluded. It was everything I was looking for in a relaxing weekend away. It’s listed in the description, but without 4WD you’ll have to park a short walk away from the cabin. The bathhouse is also just a short walk away and is very close to the RV sites at the bottom of the hill, which can lead to some dog/people run-ins (which was not an issue). Overall, the hobbit house was an amazing experience for myself, my partner, and our dog.

What a magical little hobbit house and property to explore in the beautiful Forrest. Thank you so much for the opportunity to experience something so unique! Also a close drive to the Ape caves where Gollum might be lurking to tell you a riddle!

Hobbit House
The perfect start to our anniversary weekend adventure! Rob is a great host and so creative. The sound of crickets while sitting by the fire pit was just the calm we needed. Our dog, Théoden, loved roaming the property and making friends with the neighbor dog. We hope to be back someday!

Absolutely adorable stay. If your a LOTR fan or not its a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The crickets chirping all night with a gorgeous view of the stars was a wonderful way to fall asleep in a nice comfy bed.

Hobbit House
Little hideaway close to multiple lakes and not too far from My St Helens. The hobbit house is quite something and once the crickets start you won’t even notice the traffic on the road nearby. Pro tip - there’s two trees that seem perfect for a hammock but the most common straps are about 3 feet too short. Bring an extender and you’ll get an awesome afternoon nap spot in the shade. Ps. My Subaru outback made it up the hill without problems

Hobbit House
This place is idyllic. Easy to find, gracious host, and just enough “off grid” to feel the separation from the daily grind you might need, while feeling the connection back to nature you definitely need more of. It’s a truly inspiring place, and we most certainly plan on a return visit.

My partner and I had an exceptional time at the Hobbit House. The site felt really private and we can't believe it's only 40 minutes out from Portland. Our two dogs enjoyed Dexter, the neighbor dog. He was so friendly. We will definitely be coming back.

Listen to the Crickets!
Hobbit House
Rob was very congenial, and the place was very private with 10 acres of woods to explore with my dog. There was some noise from the cars passing below on the highway, but for the most part, the sound of the crickets is what I focused on. The Hobbit house is really cool, and I'd definitely recommend it

Stargazing from Middle-Earth

Staying at the hobbit house was such a memorable experience. It really did feel like stepping into Middle-earth, but in a way that was cozy and inviting rather than over the top. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything lived up to the ad and reviews — maybe even better. Rob is a kind and talented host. He built the hobbit house himself, which is amazing to see in person. When he stopped by in the morning, he shared a bit about his background and some fun stories that made the stay feel even more personal without taking away from the short time we had there. This was a birthday gift for my husband. He really wanted to see the Perseid meteor shower, and we weren’t let down. We spent most of the night lying in the grass with our pup, watching countless shooting stars until the moon came up and lit the mountains and valley. It felt private, peaceful, and safe the whole time. Other highlights: the fire pit with wood for sale on-site, the interior staying cool even on a hot day, and the sounds of crickets and frogs at night. On our way out, we explored Mt. St. Helens and nearby lakes, which was spur of the moment because of how easy it is to do from here. This is a special and beautifully made place, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming getaway.

A wonderful Hobbit House experience

Hobbit House
We had so much fun at the Hobbit House! You can see the love and attention to detail that Rob has put into it. We parked our larger vehicle down the hill near the bathroom and had no problems walking up and down to/from the house. The views from the front yard are beautiful. We had fun relaxing in the comfy chairs outside during the day, and also had a cozy movie night watching The Hobbit, of course! The kids had fun exploring some of the trails, and we all fell in love with Sir Dexter the friendly neighbor dog. We are missing him already. The bathroom was clean and although we didn't use it, the shower looked really nice! We'd love to stay again sometime!

What a darling Hobbit house! We loved every second. The bed was dreamy and it stays nice and cool inside from the heat. So many thoughtful touches and so convenient. A gorgeous swimming area less than a mile up the road! 11/10! Can't wait to come back.

Hobbit House
The Hobbit House was fantastic! We loved playing games inside while it rained and we enjoyed exploring the trails. We took lots of pictures of both the cabin and the view- stunning sunrises and sunsets! On our sunny day, we drove 20 min. up the road to one of the lakes and went swimming and berry picking. It's a rustic experience with a few creature comforts like electricity, running water, and a remote-controlled adjustable bed. The hill was slippery in the rain, but there was enough grass and bark on the edges to get traction to walk to the toilet. Bring soap, toilet paper, towels, and outdoor cooking supplies like you would if you were on a camping trip. We had to do a resupply and it was just a quick 15 min drive to the ACE hardware store in Woodland for what we needed. We had so much fun and we're definitely recommending this place to our friends and family!

The Hobbit House was a special experience for our family. It feels tucked away from another camper that’s down the hill. The outdoor sink was really useful and it has a nice fire pit with chairs. The house itself is cozy with a nice bed. My kids were really enchanted. The house sits on 10 acres and it has cleared trails through the forest are very fun to explore. There’s even a scavenger hunt throughout the property. It’s a very thoughtful place with unexpected nice touches. We would definitely stay here again.

This was such a sweet getaway for our little hobbit fam - my partner and two dogs enjoyed a lovely chill evening enjoying the fire and watching the stars come out. The bed was very comfortable, complete with a remote control! It stayed really nice and cool in there, we ended up using the electric fire when we turned in for the night. Also met Rob and got to hear about the property, can’t wait to see what else you build there! Some things to note - my car couldn’t make it all the way up the hill (2-wheel drive) so we parked halfway up and walked up and down the short but steep/dusty distance to the hobbit house. The toilets were down the hill, so you do end up traversing that hill regardless. There was also quite a bit of road noise, but I brought a speaker out and played some soft tunes (download music in advance, there’s no service out there!) Thanks for the great stay!

Hobbit House
This is one of the coolest places you could possibly find to camp in. It was built by the owner himself and you can tell he put tons care and craftsmanship skills into this project. If you stay here, you are likely to be greeted by the dog from a neighboring property. Tell Sir Dexter I said hi when you see him. I miss him already

OMG… the bed in the Hobbit House was so comfortable. Wowza! What a great weekend away in the Hobbit House and space for our kids to tent camp and roam the property. So thankful for all the memories and laughter we shared here. The owner was so kind and checked in on us. Great communicator with any of my questions online before checking in. The neighbors dog loved to visit and was super sweet the whole time. Which our kids especially loved to have a visitor. The stars out at night were incredible. Lake Merwin right down the road was great for a swim and fun day in the sun. Would love to come back and float on the river. The kids are already asking when they can come back. This would be a great place for a couple or for families.

Spring Hill Rv spot
Rob was an awesome host! Very communicative and helpful. We especially loved the warm shower! It was the perfect place to park our van overnight as we were passing through the area. Would definitely stay here again :)
