LC1 - unexpected surprises

My husband and I stayed at Glacier Peak for four nights with our two dogs, and the entire stay was very relaxing. The campground is large - it has cabin rentals (small homes that are rented out too?), spaces for tents, and RVs (the playground is pretty run down if you have kids). Although our spot was in the middle of the campground and hard to find with the signage (LC1), it was large and felt private, with cars respecting the campers around them. The bathrooms were very clean (the warm water in the showers were inconsistent but they worked!), we had access to full RV hookups, I surprisingly had great cell service (Verizon), and we ended up making friends with the campers next to us. The check-in office has some merchandise and little essentials, as well as wine from their winery. There is access to the river and lots of spaces for tent campers across the street (that's totally where I would stay if I was tent camping)! The beach is well kept, and spacious enough. There is a niche chapel and goody stand as you walk toward the river, which was unexpected and cute. Overall, the experience was great! You aren't staying at a 5-star resort, but it was quiet, clean, and had some unexpected surprises! 10/10 recommend!

Very large campsite with plenty of room for small-large families! Some sites are right on the water as well and if it’s hot enough you could go swimming. Bathrooms are pretty nice, sometimes you have to double check if they r restocked but I think they are checked daily! Staff was polite and nice!

While we had no issues, the place was in need of updating. Our site was adequate but not enticing enough for us to spend anytime outside. It was great access to the cascades which was the intent of our stay.

Great location for N Cascades exploration, and nearby Marblemount has everything we needed - gas, a few restaurants, coffee stand, post office. Our back-in site was nice and private, but took a little maneuvering since the road leading into the sites isn’t super wide. Overall loved the privacy between sites (even though it was a lot of greenery we didn’t find it to be buggy which was awesome!). Note the bathrooms/showers are a bit of a walk from some of the RV sites, didn’t bother us since we had full hookup. This is a quirky little campus that we found charming and fun. Overall would stay here again and really enjoyed our time here.

River Tent Site A

Beautiful campgrounds. However the site we booked was listed as having a firepit and allowing campfires. But once we arrived, we found out that the campgrounds had banned fires and didn’t even have a firepit at the site we booked. We had done our due diligence to check the fire ban updates for Skagit County, and the posting on the county’s official website explictly allowed small fires for recreation or cooking. When we tried bringing this up with management of the property, they were rude and condescending in response. They also said that Hipcamp was a “third-party” that they don’t control the listings for, so be warned that they don’t take any responsibility for the accuracy of the information on Hipcamp about their site.

Beautiful area, easy to find and get to, our camp site was pretty isolated (just the way we prefer it!). We had the whole area to ourselves along the river. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful cabins to stay in with complete kitchen amenities including microwave and stove, as well as fridge. Ample space and a nice spot for lounging in the den area with a great yard surrounding. Perfect spot to stay when exploring North Cascades National Park!

Beautiful grounds close to NCNP

Private RV sites with full hookups—each site surrounded with a hedge of berry bushes and trees. The bathrooms and showers are private, recently redone so much nicer than many communal RV camps. There are washers/dryers, a small camp store full of liquor. The tent sites are very exposed on a large lawn—private sites are across the hwy by the river. Lots of birds and mosquitoes. Funky but friendly owners.

This place is awesome! The entire resort is very whimsical. Tent site ‘D’ specifically is great because it’s very private. Tons of great walking trails for the dogs. Bathrooms are clean. Great time!

Pretty great tbh! Prolly wouldn’t go for river site b or c just because they are pretty close and it felt like I shared a campsite but otherwise very pretty and loved the river. Had to it myself pretty much all weekend! Will be back asap :)

We were visitin from fl late nov, didnt realize apparently its off season and most things are closed lol. Beautiful place tho located in the north cascades. Close proximity to a couple resturants and gas stations. When we pulled in saw a bunch of deer. Friendly staff , have bathrooms and laundry on site. Would definitely recommend

While the river sites were mostly peaceful, there was more road noise than expected, especially given that they are set back from the road. A map of the campground would be helpful when booking as sites B and C are much closer together than the other sites. Additionally, while the bathroom/shower facilities are nearby, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that they were across a somewhat busy road. We did enjoy our stay here and the proximity to North Cascades was nice. However, the price was steep for what this property is able to offer campers.

Nice tent camping along the river

We stayed in along the river in tent space D. The spot was nice and secluded, there is a boat ramp next to the site, but it wasn’t used more than a few times while we were there, it didn’t bother us. The space was large and had plenty of room for a big multiple person tent. The restroom/shower is about a 7 minute walk. My only complaint and it wasn’t even the fault of the campground is on the opposite side of the river is a house with a couple dogs that barked throughout the night, which did wake me up a couple times, they were very loud. The whole glacier peak area was very nice though, we loved it.

Almost decent, avoid at all costs

Glacier Peak is a bare bones woodsy campsite with a gorgeous spot to relax by the river. Unfortunately the hosts advertise that campfires are allowed, but neglect to mention when there is a burn ban in effect. During our stay there were dogs barking ALL NIGHT LONG across the river. We got zero sleep and decided to pack up and leave in the morning before dealing with that two nights in a row. While packing up we heard gunshots in close proximity (within ~200 feet) and we hurried up and got out of there. I looked up some reviews after leaving and noticed the site owners take the time to leave petty responses on almost every negative review across multiple platforms. I am convinced that the site owners know about the problems and the strict cancelation/refund policy is a "gotcha" because once you arrive and find out for yourself, it's too late to get your money back. It's a shame because this site is SO CLOSE to being a great spot to relax.

This really is a gem. Every spot is private. Electric and water. Easy-going host. 25 maybe 30 minutes west of glacier national Park welcome center. All good to go.
