Within a 30-minute drive from the Rockfish(South).
We are a community oriented farming and art space situated on the western slopes of the blue ridge mountains. Gardens and eclectic communal spaces are set within dense young woods, 100 year oaks and near sandy ground springs. The land is neighbor to the big levels conservation area which features 30,000 acres of forest, hiking trails, streams and swimming holes.Site one is to the left when you enter the clearing under the grandmother oak. The site is quite flat with ample space for several tents. Guests will have access to a fire pit, outdoor kitchen and outhouse within close proximity to the site. For an additional fee farm fresh eggs and vegetables can be purchased while onsite. Please message ahead if this is a feature you are excited about and we will be sure to make time to harvest for you ❤️

Guests will have access to a fire pit, outdoor kitchen and outhouse within close proximity to the site. For an additional fee farm fresh eggs and vegetables can be purchased while onsite. Grandmother oak campsites
Wild Altar was such a peaceful retreat just outside the 151 corridor. Easy access to Shenandoah and the Blue Ridge Parkway area as well. The land itself comes with a quaint and well-equipped outside kitchen area as well as a nicely maintained outhouse. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed meeting the farm kitties and seeing the ducks every morning. The Grandmother oak camping area was very spacious with a metal fire pit. Jordan was very accommodating and clearly communicated. We would definitely come back here!

Great location with a lot of personality, close enough to town but also has great wilderness access. The hosts were helpful and accommodating and helped us with extra shelter from a big storm. It's very convenient to have the shared outdoor kitchen and composting toilets, and the veggies and eggs were delicious.

We loved tent camping at Wild Altar Farmstead! lovely flat and private area for camping with a nearby kitchen space and composting toilets. A small spring tucked in the woods was great for dipping our toes. The ducks on the property were very very cute. Thanks y’all!
