Learn more about this land: Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country. We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat. We live right up the hill. Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home. Usually you cannot but want you to be aware. When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest. During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land. Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak. There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.
