Private Paradise on Rivers Bend

Gorgeous location with a private sand beach and awesome fire pit! We absolutely loved this spot! Access was easy and the picnic table was so nice to have. Super private with sounds of the river... what else could you need? Can't wait to come back in warm weather!

Windy River Rocks

Graham's land was beautiful! The site was well maintained, flat and an even space for our truck camping. There was a nice picnic table at each site with a fire box and grate to cook on, all stocked with firewood and even kindling to get started. The river wraps around the sites with giant rocks and a steap forest incline opposite of the site. The hosts were incredibly kind and went far out of their way to help us out. The river was very refreshing (it froze last night) but we still enjoyed the semi polar plunge. It'll be a perfect summer spot with a sandy beach and great rocks to jump off into the water.

Friendly Hosts, Great River Spot

One of the best spots I've been to. Easily accessible with any vehicle and the site offered a great view (and sounds) of the river and large field on the other side of the river where I saw buck and deer running across several times. The host, Graham, and his son made an initial visit to make sure I had everything that was needed: very friendly and welcoming! There are a few other spots on the land that others were camping on but they were not visible from my spot. This did mean an occasional drive by from other campers, but I didn't mind that at all. Loved the custom made fire box and the option to leave cash for firewood provisions. The picnic table was a nice touch as well. I will definitely keep this one top of the list for future camping!

Perfect camping spot for a weekend getaway. Couldn’t beat the wood bundle for $5.00 more than enough to get you through the night and was already waiting for us at campsite. Graham awesome and came to see if we needed anything during our stay. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

Site 2 was perfect. Peaceful and secluded. Having 6 cane corsos who just loved the open field and playing in the water along the river. Will definitely return to Paradise on the rivers bend.

Tent camping was great at this private paradise. Graham had a tarp already setup for the tent and plenty of firewood for the weekend. Located right on the river with a nice beach area for the dog to play in the water. Also a great fire pit with easy cooking capabilities.

This was my 4th visit to Private Paradise Site 1 and it was a pleasure, as always. At roughly 90 minutes from home, this has become one of my favorite go-to places for an easy getaway from city life. I'll be back, for sure!

It was beautiful! So quiet..the sound of the river while you slept was so relaxing. The bugs were actually not that bad either. There is a little trail you can walk down to the river or you can walk down to the beach (if no one is at site #1-we got lucky and had the place to ourselves). It ended up raining a little bit on Sunday so we ended up driving to Luray Caverns (about 1 hour drive) and stopped at Bald Top brewery (Caramel Apple Sour was awesome). Thanks for having us Graham!

Camp site 4 was everything we could have asked for! It was right on the river and had the best view for star gazing. We were checked in on, on if we needed more firewood which was very kind. The location is also close to White Oak Falls and we were able to go hiking there when we left the site for the day. I would highly recommend and would like to return in the future!

A Great Campsite

As always, we loved our time at Private Paradise! We've camped at Private Paradise a few times and Site #1 is a lovely, large, quiet riverfront spot. The site is flat (great for tents and vehicles) with, among other things, a large picnic table, a solid square fire pit, the option for firewood, and a trash receptacle to store your trash before you take it with you. I'd go on and on but I suspect the many, many reviews will sing the same praises!

My boyfriend and I recently had the most magical camping experience right on the river, and it felt like stepping into natures paradise. The sound of the water flowing just a few feet away created a peaceful background that made it easy to relax and forget about daily stress. Love it! Was definitely private, no one was camping at any of the other locations while I was there. But even if they were this spot is indeed secluded from near by sites. The fire pit was very nice and big and even had grills you could put over it! Access to the river was easy and the river itself was beautiful. You can follow it up a ways on the rock/sand too. All the views were wonderful honestly! Even driving to the camp site.

Amazing place to unwind and relax

I love my camping experience at River's bend. Its safe, clean, quiet, & scenic (the river area is really amazing). The place is wide enough for multiple tents. Its underneath a tree so its cool even in afternoon. No mosquitoes and very few bugs. Logs are already accessible and cheap. Mr. Graham (host) is really nice. Access to the river area can be tricky if you are morbidly obese guy like me. Overall, I'm definitely coming back.

Beautiful land with river front access and views. Nicely marked sites, clean with new large picnic table and sturdy metal fire pit. The fact that three of the four sites are on the Robinson River bank is pretty sweet. Host delivered seasoned wood to our site for a few bucks and was very respectful and responsive. Highly recommend.

Had another nice visit to Private Paradise Site 1, which has become one of my go-to spots for a weekend getaway that's under 2 hrs. from DC. The weather was also great, which made for a very relaxing weekend in nature. The site is equipped with a picnic table and well-built fire pit with swinging grill plate. Firewood is also available on-site via an honor system cash box. The camping area is spacious, and much of the ground is flat and tent-friendly. As mentioned in the listing and other reviews, there are no bathroom facilities so be sure to bring a camp toilet such as the "Luggable Loo" or something similar. A trash can is provided for convenience, but you must take all of your trash with you when you leave. My friends and I had a great weekend overall, and will likely be back again.

Camping with a baby!

This was such a beautiful place to camp for the night! The instructions to get to the location were very clear. Our spot was marked and there was a bundle of wood awaiting us! We have a rooftop tent and there was an area with the tarp that was clear for camping, and it was perfect perfectly level. We even had an extra spot for a second tent, which we let my 13-mo-old daughter play in while we set up the rest of camp. There was someone in the spot closest to ours, but we could barely hear them and we’re only slightly aware that they were even there. We took a quick dip in the stream, which was so much fun. I’m not sure if it’s the time of year or if the river flow is usually only about ankle deep, but it was perfect for my small daughter to play in. The weather was definitely on our side and it was hot while the sun was up but cooled off beautifully once the sun set behind the trees. I’m not sure if it’s the location or this time of year but there were no mosquitoes!!! Even before we packed up and left, we were already trying to figure out another weekend that we could come back. My only criticism is that the campsite was pretty dusty. I know you’re going to get dirty while camping, but I was thinking that if there was any bit of precipitation, it would make for an extremely muddy campsite. Lucky for us that wasn’t anything to worry about and we had so much fun. I am seriously already looking for another weekend We can come back!

Tent camping at Site 2 was splendid! It was so secluded we didn’t see another camper the whole time - just what we were looking for. Access to the river was a little steep but very manageable, and the water was so clean and beautiful. Had an amazing time!
