We were supposed to stay 3 nights but only stayed one. We enjoyed our one night stay though. The fish house was definitely the best part! We loved cooking on the property. Also enjoyed how dog friendly it was since we were traveling with a pup.
Only thing I would say is be prepared to be camping in someone’s front yard. It seemed like there was other places on the property to set up but we stayed near the fish house since we liked it. We could see and hear the family at the house so it wasn’t very “secluded” but other than that it was nice!

The area had a nice pond and common area. We stayed for a couple of hours and then decided to leave instead of camping there for 2 days as originally planned. We did not feel welcome at the camp. The person who we spoke with prior to arriving gave us different instructions about where to camp then the gentleman who greeted us when we arrived so we had to move around a few times. The gentleman who was showing us around made sure to tell us that my son is not welcome there and it's too dangerous for children. We travel and camp all over the United States with my son. The 2 unleashed dogs on the property stole some of our food and barked at our dogs frequently. We just didn't feel welcome there so we left. There was a place to camp in the field but lots of ant hills and goose or duck poo. There are probably better spots available as it looked like the property was pretty large. This property may be ok if you don't have dogs or children.

Great setting, wonderful wild life. We saw bunnies, geese, ducks, Joe the goose, watched a beaver swim in the pond and heard many birds in the trees. Hosts were very welcoming.

This was a really cool camp site, it was my first time using HipCamp, and would absolutely recommend this spot to a friend. The fishing house is a cool feature, the firepit is nicely located, and the host was incredibly welcoming. I hope to visit this site again in the future!

My trailer and I were over the moon happy at Kim's campground! The directions were clear, check in was a breeze and everything about the location was lovely. The shared spaces were an added bonus and I'll be back!

We loved camping at Cedar Dam! It was a great space with lots of beauty and fun decor! We utilized the tin roof—-camping under that with our tent was nice. Loved the scenic view off the dock and the awesome Fish House—-so cool to hang out in there with the nautical theme. Neat to see the resident swan and also geese/ducks. Pretty area provided to have a campfire, picnic, lay in the hammock, and listen to the frogs at night. Appreciated access to kitchen/grill/fridge/electricity, and also the lovely outdoor shower and well-maintained porta potties. Friendly dogs were sweet to our pup. We enjoyed our bit of privacy in the beautiful woods while still being close to all the amenities. Would def recommend!

Kim immediately filled us in on the land and it's uses which was very helpful. We utilized the Fish House for cooking and it was fully stocked with all kitchenware. That made our stay much easier for cooking. The Fish House itself is very nicely decorated with a view of the gorgeous pond and property. I would recommend this to anyone and we for sure would come back!

Beautiful landscape with multiple camping views to start the day! They had everything from lake view, wetlands view, deep in the woods, etc. The fishing house is definitely a hangout spot for the evening. The shower is also very well done and the water is so warm which on a cold weekend was much appreciate. Can't wait to come back!

This was my first Hipcamp stay, and I must say - Kim’s place set the bar really high! A stocked pond with a fish house, multiple camp sites through trails, even a cabin is available!
The other guests that were there were nice, and we found out we’re both from the same part of Florida!
This place is a definite stay again the next time I’m in the area!

Quiet location, several places to pitch your tents depending on your needs. Scenic and full of wildlife. Hosts were polite and very hospitable.

Beautiful property peaceful and quiet. Outdoor shower was perfect and the porta potties where clean and smelled fresh. Loved the fishing cabin perfect for cooking and just for relaxing. Campfire available if you want and several good camping spots. Plenty of shopping near by and the Pamplin Historical park in just down the road. If you are interested in civil war history there is plenty to tour in this area. Would recommend this camp to anyone that lovers peace and quiet.

I wished I could have stayed another night it was so peaceful! My spot was awesome and I watched the beavers 🦫 in the marshy area. Kim was super friendly felt welcomed!

Highly recommended! Kim’s place is fabulous! The property is beautiful and includes a lovely pond complete with swan. Several options for where to pitch our tent. A fantastic screen house on the dock, with a small frig, coffee maker, a sink, and some supplies. A fire ring with firewood, and all the fire tending tools you could want, surrounded by seating. A hammock. A beautiful outdoor, enclosed, hot shower. The setting is idyllic and the amenities could not be better. Kim was very friendly, helpful, and great to deal with. We would definitely go there again if in the area.

Really enjoyed our stay. We camped one night and stayed in the cabin our second night. Both were great and it was nice to chat with Bruce who made our time there very enjoyable. Lots to do and a great place to unwind. Highly recommend!

My husband ad I, and our two pups, has a great stay! We brought out 19 foot camper and had a beautiful view of the marshlands with 3 beavers working on their dam. It was private and peaceful! We had a great tour of the property and Bruce pointed out all of the local wildlife, types of fish, and birds they have on the property! We will definitely be going back!

I had one hangup after another and ended up arriving after dark. Bruce was out there waiting for me and was extremely kind helping me work through the predicament of trying to put together a tent in the dark. He and Kim help me work things out with a great solution.
I feel very very smart picking this place to camp! It’s absolutely beautiful everywhere you look! There’s a hammock just waiting for you, a whimsical boat house, A cozy fire pit area (Check out the mailbox on the tree… It’s full of supplies to help you get the fire going).
The paddleboat and the paddle-board rent for only $10 each for the whole day. Plenty of well water comes out of a pump quickly.
Thank you so much Kim and Bruce for such a wonderful stay! I hope we can come back sooner than later :-)

I stayed in a tent with my dog under the tin roof and it was awesome! It rained all night, but the sound of the rain on the tin roof put me right to sleep. The hosts were great, caught 3 pike in about an hour of fishing before it got dark, fish house was cozy and nice community spot. Only stayed one night on a whim but will definitely be coming back!

It was a last minute decision and fortunately Kim had space for us at Cedar Dam. We so enjoyed our time there that we extended our stay another day. Kim was welcoming and helpful, the camping space offered just enough privacy but the amenities (the well equipped Fish House with a mini frig, coffee maker, sink to wash dishes and toilets) made our stay easy and comfortable. The views were beautiful, the place so peaceful. Thank you Kim!
