Large, very private spot. Lots of well kept trails to explore around the camp. My dog really enjoyed our walkabouts. The site was clean and well maintained. Grass covered the entire camp area which would make it totally fine even if the weather turned rainy. You can hear the highway and train but they were not bothersome at all. I would/will stay here again.

this spot is spotless and perfectly tucked away, you’ll feel like you’ve got the whole place to yourself. A few peaceful trails wind through the area, ideal for quiet walks or morning coffee strolls. If you don’t mind the occasional train rolling by, it actually adds to the charm — great spot to kick back by the fire and enjoy the view.

Great campsite, easy to communicate with, beautiful location. Near train track (far enough way so not a worry with kids), so you hear it every now and then, but didn't bother. Good little exploration trails for kids. Overall 10/10, would come back.

I had an enjoyable 1-night stay here on my way further south. The campsite is private and tucked away from the property owners’ home. My low to the ground, 2WD minivan handled the mostly flat gravel road just fine and the field was easily drivable.
There is regular noise from a nearby road and a pretty consistently passing train, but neither were loud enough to wake me from my sleep and were tolerable for an overnight, passing stay. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a private location to park/camp overnight that’s still close to stores and the highway.
I arrived at dusk, following the straightforward instructions provided, navigated easily to the site, and had no need to contact the host during my stay.

We had a lovely time! Campsite was in a quiet meadow that was very well-kept. Some muscadine (?) grape vines grew there, so be mindful if your dog is a grazer like ours are. We found a few seed ticks after walking in the woods, but very par for the course. Even though their house is relatively nearby, we felt totally private.

Pros: Nice open level area that felt secluded and private. Plenty of room for our camper! Had a fun time playing Bucket Golf!
Con: Lots of ticks! Went for a short excursion to check out the trails and came back covered in them. Still picking them off our dogs. Plan and dress accordingly.

I had a very nice night tent camping at Bonny Biggin. The site is large and directions were easy to follow. I could hear the highway and some train noise but neither were disruptively loud. Overall, this was a great site for me.

I loved this quiet and secluded campsite. It was easy to get to, but there's a gravel road, so plan to go slow or bring your 4x4. I had plenty of space to pitch my 10x10 tent, and the ground was fairly level. It was raining, so I didn't get to explore, but I will be back for that soon.

I’ve camped here more than anywhere! Site is very private and although you’re only a few minutes from anything you need(groceries, food) it feels like you’re in the wild! Stream is great on warm days and there’s plenty of shade and open ground! The passing trains are soothing ( no train whistles) and are far enough away to not be bothersome. Simple, clean, local at a reasonable price! Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be back myself!

Large plot of land for camping. You can put a tent on any spot you choose. Already a fire pit on site if needed. Multiple trails for hiking and to view the train coming by. Accessible by car.

Very private spot, and super convenient to downtown Ashland. Will definitely be coming back. Know that you will definitely hear the trains nearby around the clock, wasn’t too bad though.

Great spot! Nice open field in a secluded area. We were even able to find level ground and didn’t require any leveling blocks. Should be no issues for any camper van as long as there hasn’t been any heavy rainfall before hand. Our Promaster (2WD) had no problems. Would definitely stop again!

This was my first experience with Hipcamp. This location was really close to home and was used as a shakedown for new equipment. The design of this property is ideal for a mini forest/park like setting. There were a number of hiking trails and a very open and well groomed camping site. Compliments to this host for a well thought out location and a great first experience.

This is an excellent spot for family car camping. A clearing surrounded by woods gives one the feeling of seclusion despite being close to I-95. If you’re like me and enjoy the sound of trains, you will appreciate being close to the tracks. There is a fire ring with a cooking grate and firewood was stacked close by. I would definitely recommend this spot as a pleasant get away for some easy weekend camping.

I went solo camping at the site. Not a soul bothered me the entire time. It was very chill. I was just by myself but this site could definitely accommodate a large group. Also you could put your tent virtually anywhere on area. Traversable by car. No truck needed. It is possible to drive, park, and turn around anywhere on the site, granted there is no prolonged period of heavy rain over days. No picnic table but it did feature a nice enclosed fire pit that has usable grates for cooking. I felt totally at peace my entire time there. I would give this site an 9 out of 10 only because the train and a road further through the woods was a little loud at night, but it certainly did not ruin the experience at all. Really loved it, would definitely recommend, and plan to be back in the future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I love tent camping on Katherine’s land! The area was nice and secluded with pathways leading around the property for a nice morning stroll. Very close to Richmond! Highly recommend

Very buggy. Got there after dark and set up on what I guess must've been a nest of... Something. Also, literally just a field. It looks like the tree line was filled with debris from clearing the field, so nowhere to setup a hammock.
