The view and location was everything we were looking for when visiting luray caverns. We actually did a cold plunge in the river. It was awesome. We booked another night just because we wanted to enjoy the scenery and tranquility. The hosts were responsive. The only thing I will say is me and my girlfriend were unable to take a decent shower in the shower rooms because after a minute or so of the water running. It began to smell like sewage. So after the first night we didn’t shower or brush our teeth or anything inside the bathrooms/showers. It was a really horrible putrid smell anytime we tried to shower.

Everything was really great! The beautiful location was so amazing for a relaxing weekend. We appreciated how well-supplied the site was. Anything we forgot was readily available. It does say to bring linens. That was not needed for us but having an extra blanket is great for those colder nights. We highly recommend waking up early to see the sunrise over the mountains. The mist on the water was so magical and we even saw a mink walking right up to us!

What a wonderful retreat! We will definitely be back. Such a nice escape from daily life. Next time we will definitely take advantage of the kayak and tube rentals!

Well maintained property with very cozy yurts, clean facilities, and a beautiful view. Annette gave great suggestions for nearby activities and restaurants and was quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Excellent location right on the river. The yurt was simple but had everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean and we saw them being cleaned regularly. Excellent spot, we will absolutely be back!

It was so nice to have all the amenities in the yurt and in the bathhouse to make a camping experience easier. Having firewood, ice on site is amazing. The river is lovely and peaceful, and the drive up to Skyline is easy. I can see how the camp could get quite filled up with other campers and be a bit crowded…

The yurt was great! The views were incredible. The sound of the river and the crackle of a fire is so peaceful! The sulphur smell isn’t as bad as some mentioned. Verizon does not get service but that was not a problem!

A great spot right on the river. An excellent place to make your base camp or to just hang out at for the weekend. Annette’s recommendations were great and she had all of the basics available so you don’t have to pack a ton!

We had a great time staying in the Cherokee Rose yurt. We were a family of three (including a 10 year old) and a dog. The property is beautiful and the yurt has been furnished thoughtfully with lights, small appliances, and space for everything. The view of the river front the deck and picnic table was lovely, and the yurt was comfortable cooled and stayed dry in the pouring rain.
The bathhouse had hot water and was kept clean and well lit. The property was well kept and easy to find, and close to many things to keep us busy.

Space was exactly as described. Linens were provided and bathhouse was very close by. Loved that the fire pit was right along the water, and just a few steps from our Yurt. Wood was very reasonably priced, and the convenience of having a lockbox entry for the key was helpful as we arrived later at night. Space was clean.
Close by to the Luray Caverns, and a cute downtown area with some good local spots.
Definitely suggest checking out the Blue Sheppard Distillery and West Main Market (especially if their outdoor space is open!) WOULD NOT suggest Anthony’s pizza, although they delivered & it was convenient, it took double the expected time and the food arrived overcooked and cold.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Had some weather that wasn't ideal so we didn't get to enjoy the sunset/sunrise/night sky as much as others, but it was still a beautiful, serene place and falling asleep to the pitter patter of rain on the yurt was so peaceful, as was sitting by the water with our coffee. Even if it ruined our sunrise-watching plans, the way the fog misted over the morning was so soothing.
Yurt itself was clean and inviting. The bath house was also clean.
Regarding smells, the smell in the bath house is a bit strong as noted in other reviews, but people who are used to water with strong smells should be fine. It smells like very mineral-rich water. It really depends on the person.
Helpful info for future campers: Mini fridge does have mini freezer big enough for a few items. Picnic table for Hummingbird is close enough for 1-2 people to use it to sit near the fire. Purple bedding in listing images is there at the yurt, so you only need bedding if you're using the futon or want extra pillows. There is an electric kettle I don't recall being on the listing. You don't need to byotoilet paper, soap, or paper towels for the bathroom, but you will need your own paper towels (or rags) for the yurt. There's also a soda machine on site if you want to bring change.
Overall wonderful. Fully imagine I'll visit again.

While warned about the smell of the water, I couldn't have imagined how potent it really was, especially in the bathhouse -better ventilation is a must. Aside from that, the yurt was fun and quirky, although, cleaning under the dog blanket on the futon would have been nice. The view of the river was amazing and definitely the highlight of the stay!!

Me and My Friends have had a dream of starting up our clothing brand, traveling, and making music. We decided to stay here for our first team trip, and we had one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling. Annette is very kind, and has an amazing spot. Me and my friends recorded some of our new ep and designed some clothes and had an amazing time away from our phones. We will for sure be back soon! Thank you Annette! ☮️🤘

Loved the yurt experience. It had everything we needed, was right off a main road so we could easily find it, and offered a great view of the south fork Shenandoah River! Would definitely rebook in the future!

We loved the Yurt life on Annette’s property. The sunsets and moon views on the river will be a memory we will not forget!!! Annette is an excellent host as well. Very responsive! Highly recommend for a relaxing trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hummingbird yurt. The location was perfect and we enjoy the peaceful sunset by the river. The showers in the bathhouse left a bit to be desired but the rest of the bathhouse was clean. The kids had fun on the little swing set. Annette’s welcome message was very detailed and gave us all the info we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Great river access, all the comfort of home. The host is lovely and the camp is super fun. We loved tubing, but it’s worth it just for swimming in front of the camp.

This spot was great! Right in the south fork of the Shanondah River! Restrooms and facilities were clean and Annette was super easy to work with.
2 pointers. The water has heavy sulfer content so bring your own water in, also the sites are very close together so if your looking for solitude this probably isn’t the place. Other than that super close to luray and trout fishing!
