Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos and wallabies often emerge at dawn and dusk from beneath the 150-foot tall eucalypts of the Great Otway National Park along our farm's eastern boundary. Occasionally koalas nestle in trees around the camping area. You can swim in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10. We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200. If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills. You can say hello to our cattle as well as our four goats in adjacent paddocks. Our livestock is the reason why we cannot allow pets on the farm, except for guide dogs and legally accredited assistance dogs. Even small dogs who haven't previously seen a cow can cause stampedes. Please also be aware that from early December to early April, the CFA enforces district-wide bans on campfires. Fortunately, gas stoves and gas barbecues are allowable, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days due to extreme heat. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard across summer, so are not permitted. The owner is a member of the local CFA, so there are no exceptions to these fire restrictions. Also, no parties please. Caravans and motorhomes are welcome but usually require chocks for level set-up. Access to the campsites for these heavy vehicles might be limited during rainy periods, which can occur in any season, not just winter. Maximum of one caravan or motorhome per site. There is nowhere to empty caravan/motorhome toilets on or near our campsites (the nearest free toilet waste disposal facility is at Winchelsea), which is why a portable plastic flushable toilet is included with the campsite.

I would be highly recommending Euan's campsite. The view at our site is very relaxing and Euan's is very accommodating, checking us if we need help on anything.

Otways Farm Hideaway - Campsite 1
A beautiful place to camp. The host, Euan, was very helpful with informationand tips and made us feel very welcome. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from mainstream camping and spend some time away from it all but still close enough to Forrest (20 mins on the back road through Otway forests) for cafes and the brewery. Our only visitors for the weekend were a few Roos and water birds. The only noise was the cracking of the fire and the occasional moo from the next paddock over.

Euan made our stay extremely pleasant and was very informative about things to do locally. The site is very tranquil and an awesome get-away. We saw a koala too about 5 minutes walk away from the site!

Otways Farm Hideaway - Campsite 1
Beautiful and relaxing location. Euan was more than helpful. We had site 2 which was a little sloped and our group had two vans, so finding enough levelish ground was tricky, be prepared to do a bit of leveling. We had plenty of space but there was only one section of level ground, so one van would be fine. A little more pricey than other Hipcamps but a nice, quiet spot.
