To muddy to camp during my visit.
Unfortunately, it was raining all day on my drive up from SLC. By the time I arrived close to sunset, it was extremely wet and muddy, making it impossible to camp. I'm sure if it was dry it would be an incredible place to spend the night. Nothing to improve. Thats nature.

I pulled a 30 ft travel trailer to the camp spot with no issues. I picked the area to take advantage of the dark sky and was not disappointed. I parked on the west side of property that straddles the road with the shed.

Could not find camp. I think this is a scam listing. No signage or anyone present at arrival. Plenty of space to camp at the Sun Tunnels, so it wasn’t the worst way to loose money.

Fantastic and wild camping spot really close to sun tunnels. Great if you want to see the sunrise / sunset there. You are in the heart of the open desert. Very atmospheric, great star viewing too!

This site is AMAZING. Really lovely and magical.
The 30 minutes on the rocky road was fine in my Subaru, and the site was easy to find with the coordinates and some pre-trip satellite-view research.
I’d recommend car/van/rooftop tent camping as the site seems to have a lot of dried cow droppings from what I assume are occasional BLM herds visiting.

The directions were literal garbage and there is no service for miles so trying to get into contact wasn't an option.

This is simply space to set up in the middle of nowhere. It's about a half hour-ish off of the highway - definitely out there. I don't recommend arriving after dark - you'll have a hard time finding the spot. It feels as close to the solitude of wilderness backpacking as you can get with car camping, IMO. I camped near some sculptures and a shipping container - I hope that was the right spot! Not too much else around, any way. Definitely make sure you have a lot of gas before you head out this way. There are no services anywhere nearby. Small gas station in Montello 40 mins away is only open 9 - 5 (or maybe 6). I stayed one night and it was cold, but easygoing. I came back again the next night to record some sound in the sun tunnels (didn't stay overnight) and there was a wild wind and dust storm. So - be prepared to potentially sleep in your car. Sun Tunnels are magical and worth it!

Gorgeous site, miles of open desert surrounded by mountains. Make sure you have at least 100 miles of fuel when you get off the highway.

If I were this host, I would make Nancy Holt’s Sun Tunnels a MAJOR feature of camping at this site. With the installation so close, we were able to pop over and experience both of a sunset and sunrise there. And the other feature is the magnificently dark sky and ultimate quiet. You might hear one little migratory songbird in the morning making its way to or from Lucin down the way. Highly recommend!

Very nice. Wide open space. Roads can be rough on the way in, but it’s expected. Sun tunnels are a 2 minute drive away.

Wonderfully Remote and Stunning!

Sun Tunnels West: Grouse Flyover
This spot was very remote and had incredible views right next to the Sun Tunnels. Highly suggest arriving before dark and entering from Highway 30 to avoid a very long dirt road that might be difficult for 2WD. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend this spot to friends!
