The land is so beautiful. The variety of wildflowers was beautiful and refreshing. My son had tons of fun hanging out with hank (the dog) and the goats. We found tons of cool stuff "exploring" the cedar groves and the small creek. He even got to give his mom a big bouquet of wildflowers when we got home.
Dave was very welcoming, and a very chill host, lol. Let us have a little fire and camp wherever we wanted.
Definitely got a repeat visitor in my son, lol.
Plus, it's a hop and a skip from Mother Neff.

Our host David was so welcoming! We were so grateful for his hospitality. My family enjoyed our time walking along the ranch. The kids had so much fun running and jumping on the nice cool treeline on the property and did I mention the goats! They were so sweet as was his anatolian shepherd dog! He gave us a tour of his ranch and even let the kids get a close up look at his many chicks in their brooder. We felt right at home. Looking forward to making another stop in a few months to see the great new additions he has in mind. Thank you David!

I loved tent camping at the Moody Goat! David was an awesome host, giving me a personal tour around his farm and introducing me to all of his farm animals. Between the serene landscape, wildflowers blowing in the wind, and the herding of goats in the distance, this was by far one of my favorite experiences I have had living in Texas. I mean, how many people can say they’ve not only milked a goat, but tasted the sweet nectar from Patty (the goat) herself! If you're looking for a weekend getaway under the stars, or have a group of friends wanting to reminisce on the good ‘ol days, The Moody Goat should be at the top of your list of places to experience!

This is an amazing place to stay! We were here (3 nights) to view the solar eclipse. David the host couldn’t have been more welcoming. We learned so much about raising goats and chickens. Want to learn about herding goats? Check. Want to milk a goat? Check. Want to experience and enjoy a true organic family run farm? Check want a family friendly place to stay? Check. And farm fresh eggs are available to purchase! David was so helpful in giving us the history of the area and suggesting things to do. He made us and everyone staying there feel like family. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful The Moody Goat Ranch is!!

We were there for the solar eclipse and had an awesome time. David and his family were very welcoming and flexible. My son loved getting to explore the farm with David's kids and he didn't want to leave. Would highly recommend!

The Moody Goat Ranch offered so much more than we expected based on pictures and description alone. I think it's just such a special place that cannot be described easily without experiencing it yourself. It's more than just a place to set up a tent, it's a special peak into a family trying to build something really special.
David and his family were such a joy to be around and were SO helpful and knowledgeable. We learned so much and got to pet so many animals, including a 2 week old goat.
We loved being here and definitely plan on coming back!

We knew the chances for clouds and rain were high. We risked it anyways. We lucked out with beautiful weather and clouds breaking in perfect time to see the solar eclipse in totality - including the ring of fire. Add to that an afternoon thunderstorm followed by a rainbow, a plethora of adorable farm animals, and the most passionate & gracious family of hosts at Moody Goat Ranch. They sent us home with swag, farm-raised meat, fresh eggs, and unforgettable memories. To say this trip was epic is an understatement. David & his family were the most perfect hosts. Gave us our pick of where we could set up camp for our two night stay. Checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. We got to milk a goat, collect fresh eggs, and pet all the farm animals that would allow us! The description of this little slice of heaven doesn’t do this place justice. Give them a visit! You won’t regret it!!

We had an amazing time tent camping here to enjoy the eclipse! Lots of great places to set up and the wildflowers were beautiful! The owners were super friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. Our preschooler loved the ducks and chickens!

We really enjoyed staying at this site! The host was very welcoming and informative. The animals totally added to the experience, especially the pigs! You can see the stars well on a clear night. My partner and I have interest of raising animals one day and the host gave us a tour of the land and even gave us farm fresh eggs. Great experience overall
