Private lot on the Gulf of Mexico in Sargent, Texas.  Just walk across the foot path to the Gulf of Mexico.   Full RV Hookups - water, electrical (50A/30A/20A), and sewage.  70+ feet of concrete pad and driveway inside the fenced yard with plenty of space for all RVs.   The property is fully fenced. The entrance gate is 16' wide.  The yard is all St. Augustine grass.  Very clean and maintained.  Pets are welcome.  This property is tailored for RVs, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes that have black and grey tanks and can hold their waste water (shower, toilet, and washing) for dumping into the on-site water treatment unit.  You must have your own shower, sinks, and toilet on your rig with holding tanks for black and grey water and the ability to dump into the dump location on the property.  The property is not designed for tent campers. The electrical and sewage hookups are on the left side of the property.  Motorhomes (Class A, Pushers, and Class C RVs can pull directly into the space with hookups in the usual location.  5th wheels, travel trailers, and campers that are pulled by a vehicle will need to back into the space as there is no room in the front of the property to drive in, unhook your vehicle, and drive the vehicle off the slab.  When you back in, the hookups will be on the the opposite side of your connections.  Depending upon your travel trailer and where you place your travel trailer on the slab, you may need electrical or sewage extensions to reach the connections. The vast majority of the renters who use the property used a 5th wheel, travel trailer or camper that is pulled by a vehicle. Place is very well maintained. Clean and with good hookups. The fence was great for our dogs so they could run and play. A good kind of isolated. James provided us with good info and things to take into account. He made us aware of the mosquitos, which is something to plan for and know when and where be outside. The weather while we were at the camp was chilly so we were able to enjoy mornings and late evenings without worrying too much about them. If you are visiting plan ahead - shelter, permethrin, wondercide, citronella and protection for your dogs and yourself. We will certainly be coming back.

It is our second time here and our only regret is not coming back sooner. We absolutely love it here. We love it so much we would want to live here! James’s spot is amazing especially if you have dogs. If we lived closer we would be here more often. Please do not ever stop renting it!!! Thank you for your kind hospitality!

This place is a hidden gem. Living in Texas, my wife and I have been to a lot of beaches along the coast, but had never heard of Sargeant Beach. The fact that there are no restaurants, bars, and stores keeps a lot of people away and maintains a quiet atmosphere. The site is well prepared and maintained. We did have to move all of our stuff the day after we arrived so they could come cut the grass, but I guess that was a minor inconvenience. The beach that we did ended going to enjoy the sand and water was just up the road and easily accessible. There was an incredible amount of organic and non-organic debris on the beach due to all of the heavy rains and the runoff coming from the Brazos river into the Gulf of Mexico. Caveat: the pictures on hipcamp app need to be updated. There is no good access to the beach from the campsite; that wood walkway does not exist.

Great area, just as described. Mother nature didn't give us any brakes whatsoever pretty much rained the entire time we were there. We weren't able to do any fishing or any outdoor activities as we were hoping, but that's beyond anyone's control. Lots of privacy and nice quiet, relaxing area. The owners kept us updated about the weather and potential mosquito problems, which was very much appreciated.

Great setup for RVs with convenient fenced yard for our dog. Easy walking access to the seawall and only a quick drive to the beach area up island. Host was very communicative and everything worked as advertised at the site. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved it!! We will be back! Although the winds were high and the seas rough, the positive was no mosquitos and sitting with coffee or drinks listening to the waves. Loved the quietness of the area and the peacefulness which we need after a work week. The chain link fence is a complete game changer for our dogs. We walked the road, walked the sea wall and the area is clean and neighbors friendly. We arrived after 10pm and entry and hookups a breeze. Lesson we learned when headed to the RV spot is don’t wait until the last gas station a couple miles down, the card readers at the pumps don’t work so if they are closed no gas. Thank you to the hosts!!

This is a great location for a quiet getaway. It’s a beautiful area with clean beaches and hardly anyone nearby. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return as soon as we can. Hosts were very responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions.

This is a great little spot for an RV or tent camping. You are pretty much right on the water and can walk straight to the shore via a little path from the back gate. If facing the water, there are a empty lots to your right and to your left is a house that appears to be rarely, if ever, used. We had lots of space and privacy. Backing into the spot wasn't too difficult with our 22ft Rpod. If you have a really big rig, it might be a little trickier. I suggest bringing everything you need, including drinking water, because local water doesn't taste great. Sargent has a few bait shops and a liquor store as well as a dollar general down the road about 15 minutes, but that's about it. Freeport, about 30-45 minutes away, is probably closest if you need fresh food or a pharmacy. The shore nearest the campsite is mostly seawall with a thin strip of sand. It's perfect for fishing. If you want a bigger, sandier beach, you can drive down the road a couple of minutes and you'll see a turn off to your right that leads to more beach access. This beach has a lot of shells btw. A minor thing...no firepit within the fenced camping area. That would've made it perfect. And we had a visit from a curious rattlesnake, so just be vigilant. They're present all around the coastal areas. As are mosquitoes, although they weren't too bad while we were there. The hosts were very friendly and easy to reach via the app. All the hookups worked great. I would definitely come back.

Perfect quiet spot for travelers with dogs who don't prefer the traditional RV parks. It's beachfront with a walking path to the water. We have stayed several times at the location a couple of lots down and we finally got lucky enough to snag this fenced in spot. No noisy neighbors and no beach crowd. Very peaceful weekends here.

My vacation spent on the beach on Jim's property was all I could dream of - the area is very beautiful, super quiet and perfect when you need to spend time away from people. My dogs also had a great time! The nearest major city is 40 min away and it has all you need, so in the end it is not too far away if you need more food or anything. Would definitely want to come back some day!

Pretty views, loved the full fenced yard even our little chiweenie couldn’t squeeze out. The walk to be beach is a slightly treacherous with little ones but we were able to easily access a kid friendly area a few minutes down the road.

Very nice hipcamp right along the beach. The fenced in pad was perfect for our dogs. They also enjoyed running along the beach. Mosquitoes suprisingly weren’t too bad. We sprayed some fogger and weren’t really bother by them our whole stay. Would stay again for sure.

Great beach view and the fence was great with the dogs. Mosquitoes were horrible. We thought January and February would be light on Mosquitoes. Nope! LOL!

Such a great spot! Loved the fenced in area for my dogs and kids. I could sit back and relax knowing they were running around in a safe place. The walk to the beach was short and very easy. The beach was very clean and private. We loved our stay here and will most definitely be coming back.

We had an incredibly restful time during this vacation. The spot is exactly as described and the host was always immediately responsive. I would recommend bringing a screened-in room to help bake the mosquitoes in early mornings and at dusk. They are just a reality and nothing that can't be managed. We also sprayed the yard daily. Our Frenchies loved the freedom of the fenced-in yard. We were the only people within site of our hipcamp. It was like our own private gulf retreat. Thank you James.
