Beautiful views! The sites are pretty close together but fortunately we were the only campers so we had the whole place to ourselves! Would definitely come back

Octorillo Flats is a great way to experience Big Bend and the surrounding area. It’s close enough for easy day drives in and secluded enough that you typically don’t have to see other people if you don’t want to! And the stars are incredible all night long.

We enjoyed the camping at Ocotillo flats. The sky view was excellent. We could see all sort of constellations and starts. There was even a covey of quail in the property. Close drive to big bend.
There is a generous pad to easily put two tent, picnic table and a fire ring.
You can get good enough cellphone service in the area.
I will recommend this place and will use it again.

Camping on Ocotillo Flats was an incredible experience. The primitive sites have ample room for tents and gathering with friends. The directions were precise and it was easy to find even though it is in the middle of nowhere! The vast expanse of interstellar space is within your reach in the dark night sky. The silence and darkness of the desert in the night and the sun filled blue skies surrounded by and buttes and mesas makes this property a perfect place to get away from it all and get back to basics!

A primitive camp site with great desert views. Easy to access with flat camping sites for tents. It was a great site for car camping with close access to Big Bend NP.

It’s a simple place with great views. Be warned though, if you’re out here camping alone it can leave you on edge since it’s secluded. About 15 min drive to Terlingua ghost town center and about an hour+ to the chisos basin area.
