ABOUT US Inspired by family, community gatherings, old barns, shared stories, Dutch oven-cooked campfire food, summer days in the sunshine, and winter nights by the fire. Oak Meadow Ranch was created as a place where you can walk into the past, surrounded by nostalgia of yesteryear, and create cherished new memories and beginnings. Nestled among acres of tranquil woods, located just 15 minutes from Denton Texas, Oak Meadow Ranch is the idyllic rustic wedding destination, and event venue, featuring The Whitehorse Steakhouse. OUR HISTORY The story of Oak Meadow Ranch is one that came together slowly over time. Spurred by lofty dreams, and an unbridled passion for the old west. Allan and Renay Watt were always enamored with the cowboy lifestyle. Allan was even fondly named “Wall Street Cowboy” by his friends. Their love of competing in cowboy mounted shooting and preparing flame-cooked meals on their vintage chuckwagon for church gatherings sparked their vision of operating an event venue. They purchased 50 acres of land in 2013 and with help from their family began work on creating a western style town, restaurant, and event venue full of old-fashioned charm of the old west, mingled with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and graceful luxury. In January of 2016, the family suddenly, and tragically lost their mother Renay. She truly loved caring for her animals and the beauty of being in the tranquil woods. Oak Meadow Ranch was Renay’s dream, and it was her persistent joy and perseverance that brought it to life. Renay was endlessly loved by her family, and it was their greatest hope to fully realize her vision. Together, the family completed work on the ranch and opened for business in January of 2017. Rustic, yet refined, not too big and not too small, surrounded by the peace and serenity of the quiet country, with no detail overlooked – just as Renay envisioned it. OUR BRAND The origins of Oak Meadow Ranch are honored by our brand which reflects the spirituality of the location, and the family’s faith in Christ. A cross stands atop a covering that is a symbol for the Lords protection. The Whitehorse Steakhouse name captures the apostle John’s vision from the book of Revelation. Fitting images for the ranch, and reminders that no matter what hardship you face, God is your provider and protector. Throughout Oak Meadow Ranch you will find reminders of the Lords faithfulness. The donkey’s we raise here have crosses on their backs. Legend tells us that the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem loved him so much that he wished with all his heart that he could carry the cross for Jesus. Grief stricken, the donkey turned away but could not leave, it was then that the shadow of the cross fell upon his shoulders and back. The mark is forever there on the backs of all his descendants as a permanent tribute to the donkeys love and loyalty. THE WHITEHORSE STEAKHOUSE When Allan and Renay were raising their four children, the family always ate meals together, and Allan always blessed the food. These treasured memories of faith and sharing stories around a table full of family continue at The Whitehorse Steakhouse where guests are greeted like family and welcomed with prayer. Committed to honoring the beauty and nature of Oak Meadow Ranch, chef Navarro strives to use sustainable, organically grown produce, eggs, and ethically sourced grass-fed meat from nearby farms. Our revolving menu is as exceptional as our venue, and changes to reflect the very best the region has to offer each season. We believe in not only feeding the stomach, but also your heart and soul. We welcome you to our gathering room to enjoy a truly remarkable dining experience in front of our grand, stone fireplace, creating lasting memories with food, family, and friends.

Ouch!
Accepted our reservation but never gave us the code to get in. We wasted a couple of hours driving there and waiting for a reply.

Cool little place
I brought a cargo trailer with my son’s ATV and my very quiet trail 90 motorcycle. It’s a cool little place, but the owner didn’t even know they used hipcamp and was very confused when I showed up. My son was riding his ATV and he came up to us very confused. He was really nice about it and later found out from his wife that they do use hip camp, so you ma want to call them first. Their old manager, Nicole, was the one managing hipcamp and she no longer works there. Other than that, it’s a cool place to go relax. The roads are all sand so wear boots, but there are two cabins on site and several exotic animals you can pet. Really cool place with lots of trees and a small amount of walking trails. Be prepared for a lot of flies because there are animals surrounding the property, but no big deal. They have another property across the street you can also camp at, but it’s just basically an open field with RV hookups. It is very quiet there. I will be going back.
