Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The Lazy D Ranch is a working cattle ranch. The 30 acre Railroad pasture provides open space camping with spring wildflowers in a relaxed, peaceful setting. Unobstructed views provide for gorgeous sunsets and fantastic night sky views. Spring rains bring beautiful wildflowers and spring winds offer fresh breezes and opportunities for flying kites in the field. A seasonal watering hole is nearby for wading, cooling off or birdwatching. Tent Camping spots are available by the shade trees or throughout the pasture, as space is available. Primitive camping. No amenities available. Just beautiful open space. Access is off County Road 932, with a private code. Fires are available during ideal conditions (depending on wind, rain, and burn bans) at the group fire area at the Wild Wolf Wading Pond and in fire rings and the campsite.

Tent site 1 is conveniently located right inside our property. Site 1 has nice shade trees, usually a cool breeze, great views across the pasture and for watching the Sunset. Easy access from Farm to Market Road 932. Seasonal wading pond within easy walking distance. Easy access from the gates nearby, so it’s perfect if you want to get your tent set up quickly once you arrive.

Head straight to Tent site 3 once you drive in the gates. It is a little farther from the road, which is more peaceful and also has a shade tree and fire ring.

Tent site 4 has a little shade and is located next to the fence on County Road 409. You can utilize any of that area, but the shade is close to the fence. A rock fire ring is also available. It’s also a short walk to the WIld Wolf wading pond.

Primitive camping is available throughout the property. The fields are grassy, but we try to keep them shredded. Take a look around, pick your favorite spot, park, camp and enjoy your stay! You may want higher up on the front field for better views; or closer to the Wild Wolf Wading Area to listen to the frogs and night noises. You choose! Just be courteous of other campers. Please do not use designated camping sites 1-4 in this booking.
