Hi! We're Kaylee and Josh. Big Tex Campgrounds is a 30 acre campground located 10 minutes from Canton and 20 minutes from Tyler in the quirky and eclectic town of Ben Wheeler- We built our campground *with* the trees, not *through* the trees and love giving RV families a space to feel like they are truly camping in nature, but with the all the added comforts (plus a laundry facility) We are constantly building and adding on and growing our campground. In the near future, we will have primitive tent sites, Teepees and a 5 acre swimming pond with a beach. We'd love to have you witness our growth and be apart of the Journey! These 30/50/20 amp full-hookup sites are designed for comfort, convenience, and a touch of magic. Each site includes water, sewer, and electric service, and most comfortably accommodate RVs up to 45’. Nestled among native trees, our ""Classic Sites"" offer similar to your standard RV park sites with a standard smaller yard than the Signature sites, but with the same added touch of shade from native trees giving you more of a natural vibe. Every site features a spacious sitting area, a wooden patio table, and private firepit—perfect for unwinding under the stars. As a certified “Dark Sky Friendly” campground, we intentionally limit artificial lighting so guests can experience the brilliance of the night sky. It’s a chance to reconnect with nature, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the woods—without ever sacrificing comfort. Your site number will be assigned and sent to you in your pre-arrival email two days before your stay. If you have a preference for back in or pull through, please state it at check out in the ""preferences"" section and we will do our best to accommodate based on availability. Most of our Classic Sites are located on the main pull-through row, near the front of the campground. In the slideshow, you will see images of some of our Big Tex Classic Sites.

Big Tex Signature Sites - 105ft

I loved the amenities at Big Tex! The laundry room and bathroom were clean and trendy. The dog park was well kept. The neighbors were respectful and quiet. They even deliver fire wood right to your site. 10/10 would stay again.

Big Tex Classic Sites - 40ft

This is a beautiful location with lots of trees and large rv spaces that were easy to get in and out of. The highway noise was bad until around 11:00 pm. But quiet after that, I would definitely stay again. The office help was really nice too.
