Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
This tiny house was built from a renovated railroad camp car. It has traveled all over America and has been featured on the YouTube channel Tiny House Giant Journey. The builder of the home has also written, illustrated, and published three children's books about Journey and her travels. This unique stay offers a memorable, cozy retreat nestled in nature. Watch butterflies chase each other during the summer, and enjoy 360° views of the surrounding mountains in the winter. A 4WD or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended to reliably access the property. 2WD vehicles may be able to make it up the driveway if recent rain has not caused the gravel to become loose. Distances to nearby attractions: • 29 miles to Gatlinburg • 24 miles to Pigeon Forge • 14 miles to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Cosby Entrance and waterfalls) • 13 miles to whitewater rafting • 17 miles to ziplining • 22 miles to horseback riding • 55 miles to downtown Knoxville for art events and festivals • 6 miles to Newport (Walmart, Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, and fast-food restaurants)You must have AWD/4WD to reliably access the property. If you drive something otherwise, you may have to walk up the steep driveway if your car can’t make it. 2WD cars can sometimes make it up the driveway, depending on what the recent rainfall has done to the gravel road. No refunds will be given if you have to walk to the Tiny House. If the Owner is home, she would be happy to give you a ride up the driveway if it’s before 9pm. “Journey” is nestled in the woods on top of a small summit at the base of a bigger mountain. You will have a nice sized front porch facing your own private view of trees and the Smoky Mountains in the distance. You will have a gas firepit and cornhole to enjoy as well. The Owner lives behind the Tiny House, so feel free to reach out if you need anything. The entire grounds is almost 5 acres and other neighbors live quite a distance away and are barely seen when all the leaves are off the trees. This is a shady oasis for butterflies in the summer and lightening bugs at night, and has 360 degree views of mountains in the winter.
