We love staying at stagecoach, beautiful spot, gorgeous sunsets horses all around along with deer and other critters centrally located, but we still felt off the beaten track. The host were really awesome and so helpful. It’s a beautiful place.

We simply loved the cozy cabin at Stagecoach Stays! The scenery was beautiful, so close to Wind Cave, Custer State Park and more! Shelly & Clark were wonderful hosts and the cabin had everything we needed.

We loved this campsite. It was very clean and thought out. There is plenty of room to relax out side and enjoy the views. We also had a deer stroll through while we was relaxing outside.

We loved our stay at Stagecoach! The hosts seemed always available but never in your way. The location was perfect for us to explore all things the black Hills have to offer. We enjoyed the location so much we extended our stay. Close enough to Hot Springs if you need anything but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet.Site was super clean and level, power,water and dump all at your site. What more could you ask for,

Great place to stay with amazing atmosphere and views! Plenty of wildlife around and beautiful horses on the property. Convenient location to Hot Springs. Had a great time, family of 4, will definitely be back.

Beautiful place to stay for a night, a week, a month.. or however long the host allows. The host were super accommodating and very nice. They even let me use their air compressor for one of my tires. 5 ⭐️

We had such a great stay at Stagecoach Stays! The sites are large, level, full hook-up, and easy to access — perfect for big rigs like ours. The location is ideal, close to everything in the area but still peaceful and quiet. Clark and Shelley are incredible hosts — so welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their property is beautiful with plenty of room to roam, and we loved meeting their friendly horses! It’s the perfect home base for exploring the area. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

This is a truly magnificent place. Immaculately clean, updated, extremely comfortable, and safe. These are just a few words that describe Stagecoach Stays. Clark and Shelley are two of the kindest people you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Upon our arrival, they greeted us with hospitality and generosity. They introduced us to our horse neighbors, Crow, Apollo, and Rio, and allowed us to explore their expansive property. They’re very well-informed on the area, local eateries (309 General🤘) and places to hike and discover along the way. Don’t forget to check out the stars at night and sunrises on the back porch. Upon being there only a day, we knew this was a place we’d continue to visit for the rest of our lives. 10 mins from downtown Hot Springs, 30 mins from Custer, and an hour from Keystone, this gem of a place will leave you breathless and never wanting to leave. It is a remarkable find, easily one of the finest on Hipcamp. Should you ever find yourself in South Dakota, we highly recommend Stagecoach Stays, assuming you want some of the most memorable days of your life 🙂

We loved staying here with our trailer! The hosts were so friendly and kind. They helped our children say hello to the horses safely and spent quite a bit of time helping us with a malfunctioning water heater. The land is beautiful, pristine, and calm, and the star viewing experience at night is phenomenal. Thanks for having us!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Stagecoach Stays! Shelley and Clark were warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive hosts. They were truly top-tier customer service from start to finish. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. We felt completely safe and right at home. Their horses were lovely to watch, and we saw wild turkeys and deer throughout our stay. It was such a refreshing connection to wildlife!
The location is also perfect for exploring the region: just minutes from downtown Hot Springs, a short drive to Wind Cave National Park, and only 40 minutes to both the Black Hills National Forest and Crazy Horse Memorial. Mount Rushmore is just about an hour away, making this spot a fantastic hub for day trips.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We were so excited to find full hookups that were not in a crowded camping ground. It was quiet and peaceful, we were directed to some trails on the property for an afternoon hike, and it was close to town. The hosts were fantastic. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Loved staying at this site. We were on a trip with my family to see the National Parks. It was perfect for us. We used the 2 RV sites and 1 apartment - 1 family tent camped, 1 was in a trailer, and 1 stayed in an apartment. The covered patio of the apartment was the right size for our group of 10 to have shade and eat together. Plenty of space to throw a football and have the kids run around.

Beautiful level spot. 10 minute drive to Wind Cave. Great place for a basecamp for Wind Cave, Badlands, and Mt. Rushmore. Had everything we needed. Would stay again if ever in the area.
Hosts were very helpful. They even helped with our Jeep that needed grease in the bearings.

The hosts for Stagecoach Stays were very nice, very helpful, and responded very quickly to any question. The west site that we were in, was long enough for our 34-ft motorhome and tow car. It was a full hookup site. There was Wi-Fi, but it was a little weak. When it worked, it was very fast. We could also get two bars on our Verizon cell phones. While there, we saw several flocks of wild turkeys, and some deer. We very much enjoyed staying there for a week, and would definitely stay there again. We camped at Stagecoach Stays in a Motorhome.

we spent a week at the RV East site as the base camp for exploring the sites we wanted to visit in the Black Hills: Custer SP, Needles Hwy, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon, Wind Cave, Badlands NP.
Our host, Clark was great. he greeted us, offered information on the area, and was available if needed, otherwise left us alone. the site is beautiful, looking over the hills. great sunrises and sunsets. he has a sprayer that puts out corn kernels for the deer and water troughs for the wildlife who visited for a drink throughout the day. having full hook-ups for a week stay was great, and the wifi worked great.
thank you for having us, and we look forward to seeing you the next time we travel west.

As city kids out on walkabout, I really appreciated the very clear directions about how best to enjoy and avoid the wildlife! The apartment was a perfect way for us to enjoy such beautiful property and see the Milky Way and stars without the added costs of an RV or tent that we don’t have. Our boys had the best time! It was our home base for four days with easy access to Custer National Park and Mt Rushmore and not too much farther to the Badlands National Park. But Hot Springs was so adorable itself that we could have spent all our time there! This is a great location! We loved it!

Peaceful Place with full hookups

I live fulltime in my RV and have stayed at many different types of places. My favorite campsites are places where I have a lot of space, a beautiful view, I am not crowded with other campers, and I have full hookups. This HipCamp was my favorite one to date. The view over the hills was gorgeous, the site was huge, and the owners invited us to explore their 95 acres of land.
If there was any downside it was that we had a huge thunderstorm one night. The nearest weather station counted over 1,500 lightning strikes overnight. There is a large barndominium nearby which I figured would actually take any direct lightning strikes so I wasn't too worried.
The town of Hot Springs is currently undergoing massive construction work. I would recommend only approaching and departing this site from the North on Hwy 385.
We enjoyed visiting The Mammoth Site and grabbing ice cream at 2 Cows Creamery. This site is located about an hour south of Mt. Rushmore and I'd recommend going to the sunset ranger talk and lighting of the monument.
The main nearby attraction is Wind Cave National Park but it is currently closed for elevator maintenance and will be for a few more months.

Shelley & Clark are amazing host and fantastic people. Pictures do not do their place justice. Sunrise and sunsets were spectacular. Deer and turkey walk right by your campsite. Definitely recommend! We will be back for sure!
