Oh my goodness!! Please don’t miss this amazing chance to dive into nature woods itchy on the coastal edge. I had an amazing week with my 3 dogs. And Larry was so kind and helpful. I cannot give enough praise for this camping experience.

Our stay was amazing! Larry was so kind and such a great host. He helped us figure out the best way to pull in and setup our camper on arrival, as well as provided great recommendations around the island! The property is amazing and so relaxing. We will most definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our time at Larry’s Island Paradise! The good vibes started from the moment we booked this site on Hipcamp. He was super communicative and gave us clear directions. He met us upon arrival and offered his help getting us settled. The property itself is stunning. The sounds of the water and the birds are the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing time.
Getting to know Mr. Bingo was truly half the experience!! He’s a special one :) thank you again!!

Island Paradise
Island Paradise is exactly as described - a piece of heaven on the shore of Lake Murray, right on the water with the most amazing sunset views. Larry "Mr. Bingo" is a fantastic host. Larry made sure we knew the best way to pull in and park our camper, and had extra cinder blocks available to help level it - he even offered to help!
There is water and 30 amp power, perfect for our needs. The fire pit was cleaned out, and firewood was already stocked for us when we arrived. Larry has a dock with a table/chairs/umbrella, and is set up for fishing - just bring your tackle and bait. We caught catfish, bluegill, and perch. He also offered the use of a kayak and floats.
Larry checked in with us before he would leave to see if we needed anything when he went into town - we didn't take him up on it, but it was appreciated that he took the time to do that.
If you have a camper that automatically levels, you won't be concerned about the spot not being level. If you don't, just be aware that your normal leveling system may not be enough, and you may have to either jack up the camper and put blocks underneath or get creative with the cinderblocks. We also used the cinderblocks to build an extra step for the camper.
We absolutely loved Island Paradise, and are already planning another trip back. Thank you, Larry, for sharing it with us. We loved hearing about the history, and enjoyed talking with you very much. Looking forward to seeing you again!

My suggestion: Go here in the hot summer time! It was cold and windy this time of year. Check the weather. Otherwise, it was beautiful!
The landowner Larry (Mr. Bingo) came to chat for a bit and show us around. He was friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of firewood. He was super nice!
* Bathroom available? In Larry's house.
* Camper parking was a bit tight. If you are good at parking a camper, you should be fine.

First of all, this is one of the most beautiful views on Lake Murray. Faces the west so you get the beautiful sunsets. Larry is an excellent host. He’s very welcoming and cares about his guests. He has a great power and water hookup, hammock, fire pit, has extra concrete blocks if you need a little extra help in leveling your camper. Larry even provides firewood if you need extra. He is very polite, great personality, very helpful, and once you get checked in he gives you your space and checks in by text from time to time to see if you need anything. Yes, your in a neighborhood but there is good distance between neighbors and i never saw any of them. It actually feels secluded. Also, I work remotely so good WiFi is paramount, especially since I stayed from Sunday to Friday. His WiFi was sufficient for my needs. I’ll definitely be going back.

Our experience was absolutely great. Larry was a kind and very attentive host and treated us with over the top hospitality. The location isn’t far from town, the views were fabulous and we caught a huge bass off of the dock. Watching ospreys fish was quite a treat as well.

What a beautiful spot! We were in SC for our daughter’s team to play at Newberry and chose this spot for the night. I’m so glad we did! The view can’t be beat and you are literally right on the water. We loved sitting by the fire listening to music into the night! Larry was so kind and we hope we can plan a longer trip as it gets warmer!

My name is Lucy, I am nine years old. I stayed with my mom, dad, and dog Mocha. Mr. Bingo was a great host and was very welcoming and friendly. He offered different things to do at the camp. The view was fantastically memorable. We saw a Bald Eagle and fed many fish! (Next time we will bring a fishing pole)!

What a beautiful relaxing sweet spot right on the water! Hang out in the hammock, dive off the dock, catch the sunset, life is good at Bingo's island paradise! Great host and amenities. Will definitely be back!

The location is amazing. What a beautiful view of the lake.
We only stayed one night but the time we spent was so relaxing. We spent a few hours hanging out on the dock and swimming in the lake. My kids had a fun time.
Bingo let us use his grill so we grilled and had food out on the dock.
I will definitely be visiting again.

This was a fantastic camp site! Views over the lake were stunning and swimming off the dock so relaxing. Our host was so friendly and welcoming and made our stay really special. We have a rooftop tent so our host allowed us to set up near the water. We were lulled asleep to the sound of gentle waves. Lots of wildlife to see also, turtles and osprey abound. Our host even went out of his way to fix our fan so we would not be hot. I highly recommend this spot. We will definitely be going back!

Traveling from the NC mountains for the first phase of our vacation to the Carolina beaches, Larry's site was a perfect place for us to stop for the night. Upon arrival, he greeted us and briefly showed me the ropes. We quickly set up and then ran to jump in the lake off his dock for a swim to cool off. Our two boys had a blast! We grilled with one of Larry's two gas grills and had dinner on the dock and then enjoyed the incredible sunset across the lake. His site is super unique, and we would like to come back and stay longer once we finish our boat renovation.

This is truly one magical camping site! While you are in a neighborhood setting, you are front and center to a spectacular lakeside view with incredible sunsets and sunrises. It felt very private and Larry was the consummate host. Don’t miss this one!

Staying here was such a pleasure. From the beautiful views to the friendly people around the lake! My son had trouble with his boat and Bingo and his friends went out of their way to help. The people next door came over to help without being asked and not only helped him get the boat to shore they helped him get his boat to their private boat ramp and allowed us to use it!
The campsite was clean and well kept, stocked with firewood and right on the water. I very much recommend camping here.

Larry was welcoming and very attentive. His little piece of paradise made for a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. The site was right on the waters edge and the sounds of the waves made you feel like you were at the beach. The dock was a great place to fish as well as sit and watch the beau sunset each night. My grands enjoyed playing in the water along the swimming area a few feet away and swinging under the gazebo. We would definitely book again it’s truly a piece of paradise.

Stayed for Fathers Day with my sister and our 2 kids .Larry is probably one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of staying with. If I didn't know something with my camper being a single mom he helped me. If I needed extra Floats or blankets, towels he offers them. He even offered to do my laundry because we were there during the storm and all of our stuff got wet. The views are phenomenal. The kids had a blast .He is nice & too funny Mr. BINGO's is the place to be.. He will give you your space or he will hang out with you your choice. The land is beautiful ...Also we brought two dogs that he welcomed easily . My niece and son went on floats with him in the water. Lol Property is excellent. I didn't want to leave .i was lucky to book this, he is always booked . The dock is so beautiful at night 🌙 The storm came and even checked on us & helped us close our things outside. I would give this place Seven Stars if I could...Cant wait to come back .LOVE YOU MR. BINGO ( Larry) Thank you for having us and being so helpful and kind.

We had a great time! Mr. Bingo is very friendly and readily available to help with anything you need. The fishing was fantastic. My husband had a blast. The view was amazing. Loved sitting in the hammock listening to the water crashing on the banks. It didn’t bother us too much, but FYI that this site is located in a backyard in a neighborhood. It is closer to the private residence than I would’ve anticipated based on the main photo on the listing. However, privacy wasn’t an issue. You definitely need a jack for leveling. It does state this on the listing, but he does have one if you are unprepared. You do need your own toilet and shower. We would stay again!

The good news: host refunded our money and Hipcamp customer service very responsive. The reason why we would not return or recommend: this is a backyard in a neighborhood (with stunning views). The area was too steep for us to level our camper (we ended up leaving after an hour of hard work) and with very little privacy from the neighbors the only folks who could stay there would be ones with a toilet (there is nothing on site as this is a private residence.) Not a true camping experience. Definitely not what we were led to believe from the description, the pictures or the cost. At least we were refunded our money.
