I hesitate to write a negative review, but this place could really use some help. The first thing I'd suggest is getting a Port-a-John down there. The directions to poop in a bucket didn't bother me at first, as I'm familiar with primitive camping, but all the trees, bushes, and weeds closely surrounding the little tent space made me worry about the folks who can't be counted on to do the right thing. I didn't take my shoes off, which I love to do, and actually came home a day early. It just felt...dirty. And the fact that the place to get in the river was right underneath the site made me wonder whether I should swim in it, which I really wanted to do. That was kind of the whole point for me. The site itself was littered with broken glass and odd clumps of asphalt, with lots of small branches on the ground and decaying stumps around the firepit sprouting mushrooms. I was also disappointed that there was no view at all because the site is under large trees in dense hardwood forest. I'd recommend the owners clean up or repurpose the shed that says in black spray paint, "Helene please stay away 2024." Wilderness seekers should know that the spot is right under the airport flight path and that random gunfire up the bad road and loud talking happen at the nearby park all day and night. I think that's all, except I was taken aback by the hosts not coming down to meet me. That was a Hipcamp first in all my years of Hipcamping. Greenville was nice. I wish the owners good luck.
