Mountview is a very special place having been in the family for over 120 years. The working farm is 650 acres of grain cropping and also runs a productive Charolais beef cattle stud. A central stopover point an easy 15 minutes from Toowoomba city and only a few kilometres off the New England Highway. Explore the local area with so many attractions and places to discover including the Darling Downs Zoo, The Historical Bull & Barley Inn, quaint little country towns, sunflower fields and so much more. Enjoy wide open spaces with magnificent views. Watch stunning sunsets, toast marshmallows around the fire pit, watch the night sky for a dazzling display of stars, hike or say hello to the many Charolais cattle on the property. You will have access to the facilities at the Ironbark Barn which include a pool table, dart board, television, kitchen and bar area, and shower and toilets. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, BBQ, dishwashing station and rubbish/recycling facilities. No pets please.

Mountview Farmstay

Had a fantastic time. Great facilities, stunning views and lovely hosts. Ended up camping over a very hot weekend, but the elevated position had a nice breeze coming through. There were a few flies during the day which are to be expected, but they disappeared as the day went on. Thoroughly enjoyed and we will be back.

Adults and kids delight!!

This is the 2nd time we have been as its such a great place for kids and parents. Kids can run to the their hearts content and ride bikes around. They loved patting Toro (calf). The Barn is such a great spot for the parents to sit and enjoy once the kids have gone to sleep, but not until have enjoyed time around the fire cooking marshmallows.

Good for the soul!

Beautiful sunset

Very beautiful spot with magnificent sunset and view of The Valley. We camped for one night, we used campfire pit provided which was very good. Very nice setup with amenities provided: toilet, shower with toilet, fridge and drinkable water in the barn. The only one thing: too many flies constantly around you, in your face, in your food. I don’t know if this is common for this area. Other then that, beautiful spot and host is lovely and very helpful, fast replying to any messages.

Camping with friends

This was our first experience of Hip camp and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Katrina was a wonderful host, so accomodating and gave us lots of information. The campsite was very well organised and had clean toilets and showers. The barn was a great asset to the site. Thanks so much Katrina.

Panoramic views

We stayed for three nights and should have stayed more, but we had to get home for some other commitments. Katrina and Ian are great hosts and should be very proud of what they have on offer including full access to the ironbark barn, very clean facilities, panoramic views and a working farm. There are also some great day drives around the district, including a great meal at the Cambooya pub. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Mountview! The land is just stunning and you get all the benefits of a quiet spot to yourself but with amenities and a beautiful barn to utilise. The kids loved the big swing and riding their bikes around. You are surrounded by beautiful countryside, stunning sunsets and the sounds of farm life.

Small, tranquil campsite with cows.

Mountview Farmstay is an excellent place to camp for a few days. The facilities are excellent (shower, two toilets and a barn that contains tables, a fridge freezer, a sink and a pool table!!). Located 10/15 minutes drive from both Toowoomba and Darling Downs Zoo, it's a peaceful and relaxing place to see the stars (and the chickens and the cows) with a fire pit and beautiful views from the campsite. This is the perfect place to camp for a few days whether you have young kids, or just a few mates and a couple of beers. Word of warning, you're in a farm, so there are flies. But if you're ok with that, then Mountview Farmstay is 5/5 👍

Loved it

We loved camping at Mount View Homestead, will be going back again. There are great views, take the camera for the sunset views. It is very quiet with only 2 sites and huge amounts of space for both campers. The kids had a great time feeding the animals and playing on the swing. It was a great way for the family to relax and spend time in the country. The barn is perfect to relax and even has a tv if the kids (parents) need a break. The hosts are lovely welcoming people. First Camp Out

What a beautiful location! We booked both camp sights for two nights as we went with friends to explore our first camp with our families. It was beautiful. Katrina was lovely and welcoming, and the site was picturesque. A great place for children to run and explore with the Ironbark Barn. Facilities included shower and toilet and these were exceptionally clean. Would highly recommend for families.

We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying the night we were there however the property has ample space for everyone. Facilities were great, the working windmill, old work trucks and machinery on the land we’re beautiful. We had the best stay and will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay. The views are great. With only two sites, it is not noisy or busy at all. Toilet, shower and barn are great. It is very convenient that there is a fridge provided. Will recommend to friends and definitely come back again.

Mountview is a beautiful spot! Peaceful with gorgeous views of the surrounds and friendly neighbours (cows!). Was lovely having another family camped there at the same time as my 2 year old made new friends. Facilities were spotless and exceeded my expectations. Katrina was super prompt and friendly to communicate with in the lead up to our visit and also on arrival. Disappointed that I only booked one night, could’ve stayed longer and I will definitely be back.

Amazing spot to set up for a couple of days. You are able to use the facilities at the site the ironbark barn at night with all the fairy lights is simply stunning. Katrina was a lovely host very welcoming. We definitely will be rebooking. Highly recommend to book one of the two sites.

Magnificent wkd on the homestead

My husband and two kids had an absolutely wonderful time at Mountainview Homestead Such a stunning well kept property with pool table, bar, good water pressure in the shower, fire pits available and wood Flat ground so kids were able to ride their bikes around And the sunsets Magnificent 👌🏼 We were able to go to Darling Downs zoo which is just around the corner as well as visiting some of the local old heritage pubs for tasty meals / cold beer Thank you Katrina for being a great host We will come back again one day for sure.
