Laureleye Farms is a 70-acre horse farm in SE PA with access to great hiking trails and the Brandywine River for floating, dipping, or just sitting. Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Children's Museum and other Chester County attractions are all within 20-30 minutes. We welcome well-behaved pets on leashes. We have a paddock for rent if you would like to bring your horse, and they can camp out too.

Tent camping in the meadow right next to the Buck Run River is lovely. There is a fire ring and room for several tents. You can choose to park in the field where you are camping or go further up the driveway to a parking site on your left. Hiking around the farm, swimming and fishing in the creek, and enjoying the tranquility of the farm will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We have kayaks and canoes for rent if you are inclined for a floating adventure. Fire Ring provided, for safety please only have a fire inside the ring. You may use the toilet and hot water in barn on the other side of the river. We have room for your horse, too, for wonderful trail riding in the Laurels Preserve.

Please plan to arrive during daylight hours. It's a short .2 mile hike from the parking area to the secluded tent camping spot in the woods next to the Buck Run River and horse pastures. Hear the gurgling sounds of the creek and munching and neighing of the horses as you fall asleep. There is room for one tent in this private spot. You will walk about .2 miles around the horse pasture from the parking area to get to the site. Fire Ring Provided. Hiking around the farm, swimming and fishing in the creek, and enjoying the tranquility of the farm will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We have kayaks and canoes for rent if you are inclined for a floating adventure. You may use the toilet and hot water in the barn for your comfort and convenience. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

Sitting above the Buck Run Creek, this historic building was used as a school, chapel, and library in the late 1800s. It has a wood stove, but no electricity or running water. Bring candles and lanterns for light. Beautiful high vaulted ceilings. There is a table and chairs, and plenty of room for camp pads or mattresses on the floor. Very quiet and peaceful. Great option for those who want to camp, but would like a roof overhead. We do not allow fires outside of the chapel, but you are welcome to open the woodstove for ambiance.

The campsite was very wide open and flat with trees and a brook nearby. The fire ring and picnic table were also nice to have. A very nice campsite.

Beautiful farm w/ access to trails on Laurel Preserve. The private tent camp area by East Brandywine Creek is lovely off-the-beaten path, so nice to wake up next to a pasture of horses.

I LOVED this place. For history buffs and people who need a little whimsy in their life. I’m surprised no one has mentioned bugs / the need for a tent. There were too many bugs to sleep with a sleeping bag/ sleeping pad on the floor. There is also a wasp nest at the front door that was a little worrisome because I’m allergic to them. Lastly, there is zero airflow so bring a battery powered fan if you are able to. It was about 85 degrees and humid, and inside was stifling. I want to visit again and come better prepared.

It was awesome that the site was right on the creek and there was interesting wildlife! We saw praying mantis, hawks, deer, brown trout, small mouth bass and the animals on Susannah’s farm were really cool. The only downsides I would say would be where the fire ring sits, the ground is pretty sloped. We had a couple instances of people falling over in their camping chairs because of the grade. And also the site is between two driveways and right next to a main road. Because her farm is a working active farm there were cars going in and out from sun up to sun down and the site is in plain view of all the cars passing by. Other than that, the site was really nice and clean.

We had a fantastic time as a family in this cabin. Would absolutely love to come again. Truly a unique and memorable experience. The kids loved swimming in the creek too!

The host’s communication was very responsive and helpful. The tent site was a bit overgrown, especially in the flatter areas (which were limited), and situated in between driveways and the road, making the space feel less than private at times. The hiking/equestrian trails, farm lands and creek provide lovely scenery.

Stinging nettle and overgrown trail

The campsite was a bit overgrown with lots of stinging nettle. It wasn’t exactly flat either which made for slanted camping. The host was responsive when I called to ask how to get to the bathroom in the barn, though it was on the other side of the river.

What a beautiful camping spot so close to Philadelphia! I had a wonderful visit in my camper van- it was my first Hipcamp too. Susannah is very nice and accommodating! I will be back soon. Im very intrigued by the school house- I got a look from the outside. That might be next. Thank you! Charlie

The Chapel is a beautiful little getaway located next to Buck Run, a refreshing creek nestled in a serene landscape of horse farms and wooded areas. You can walk right into the Laurels, a stunning 500-acre preserve of land with lovely trails to run and walk. We can highly recommend staying here!

The farm is gorgeous. I booked last minute and there wasn’t time to camp where the tent camping usually is, so I’m not sure if this review will be useful. But everyone there was kind and helpful. I camped on the farm side of the river and it was breathtaking. I pitched my tent on the Sandy bed of the creek and listened to the water all night. It was a bit of a walk with my gear to get to the spot, but I wanted somewhere on the creek, not overlooking. It was lovely.
