This is the secluded and private spot that I look for in Hipcamp. Three or so miles down dirt road and no view of others. Be cautious on directions. Apple Maps took me to a 5 mile dead end. Mark will set you on course. Enjoy the privacy.

We loved this campsite! We backed our truck with the pop up tent toward the trees and woke up to beautiful pine trees and complete silence. We’ll definitely be back if we find ourselves driving through again.

View of the forest was very pretty. The sound of elk in the evening and morning was very peaceful. Lower site was closer to the cabins than what I was hoping for but still felt somewhat private. Never used the pit toilet but looked at it and it was one of the nicest ive ever seen. Cell phone coverage was disappointing but only because I was hoping there was none (wife enjoyed the service), Tmobile 5G 3-4 bars.

Decent campsite, although be aware that it's a little sloping and there isn't a great place to park since the host specifically asks that you don't park in the driveway. It's quiet and peaceful, which was great. I have no idea what there is to do in the area. It felt a little weird to be camping in someone's back yard, but for a one night stopover, I can't complain. No water, so be aware that you'll need to bring your own. Not sure what could be done to improve it, it's a basic place to camp that's safe and out of the way.

I’ve loved to camp in High Roads Cabin. The camping spot was very comfortable, clean bathroom and I loved the fact that it was literally surrounded by the forest.

Really nice spot for van camping for the night while passing through. Very clear directions and responsive hosts. Only wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you!!

Private and quiet this is a wonderful place to enjoy the pine forest and the night sky. Off leash pups had a great time checking things out. The directions were accurate. The turn into the property is marked with a wood frame as stated. The road into the property is posted with no trespassing signs until you reach the gate. A nice variety of leveling supports are available if you need them and the pit toilet is “one to write home about”: clean, comfortable, and inside a well constructed building. Solar lights are strategically placed to help you find your way at night. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Remote Bare Bones Campsite

This site feels very remote. Only heard a few cars on the forest service road. We were in the lower tent site. There was a nice view of a small drainage and the forest beyond, beautiful isolated sunset.
Composting toilet! No running water for drinking or dishes, but you can wash your hands by the bathroom.
There is no picnic table at the lower campsite, and the level area for the tent fits a 4-person tent easily. A larger tent will be slightly sloped.
Overall the campsite is very bare bones, and located in a relatively remote forest setting.

Beautiful and remote, loved the eclectic materials used for the cabins! Our host sent excellent instructions, and was very responsive. There were several thoughtful accommodations around the site. Would absolutely visit again!

Great spot! Mark was a very responsive host. Great views and I woke up to a small group of cow elk and calves. I was a female traveling alone and felt very safe even with no other campers reviews regarding leveling were accurate. There is a circle driveway so you can back into the site from either direction leaving you options on how to set up your site. Some shade and fire pit were provided.

Great location.
Close to rivers and hiking spots. Relatively quiet although it was Memorial Day weekend so I'm not sure if that contributed to sirens every niight, other than that, it was peaceful.

Access road was dirt, but no problem for our minivan. Site 1 had leveling blocks for our minivan, a shade net and great views. We had the place to ourselves. In hindsight, though, I would pick site 2 as it is more nestled in the trees. Mark gave excellent directions and responded quickly. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. 5 ⭐.

I was staying tent camping with just my dog and I. Mark was really communicative, was accessible when I had questions and the site itself was fantastic! It feels weird to recommend a place based on an outhouse alone, but it was also a huge perk.
The view was fantastic, it was easy to get to and when we left the next morning we were greeted with a herd of sheep.

Exactly as advertised! A remote location but easy to find. Mark was responsive and helpful. There were guests using the upper site and cabin our first night but we barely noticed. We were tent camping with another couple. Appreciated the enclosed pit toilet (nicest we've ever seen!) and the hand wash station. There is one small, level prepared tent spot on the lower site. It could benefit from another one.

Didn’t know till I got there that no one else was staying on property. Being a woman alone in bear country just didn’t feel comfortable. Mark’s directions are great and he was very gracious- it was a decent site in pretty country, just not for me at that point in my travels.

I need to state that I am notoriously navigationally challenged, thus despite very clear instructions from Mark *and* Google Maps announcing that I had arrived, I could not locate this site.
This was my first attempt at using the Hipcamp app, and I realized after the fact that I didn't properly cancel the reservation in the app once I determined that I couldn't find the site. (Thanks all for your patience with a Hipcamp newbie!)
The mountainous area that I drove through in search of the site was lovely and peaceful though, and it's a fair assumption that the site is also.

This was a beautiful and secluded camp spot in the forest. Just three miles from the highway, but felt like the deep wilderness. Peaceful and lovely.

This spot was beautiful and serene. The weather was perfect and we were the only ones staying on the property. Clean outhouse available. Plenty of room for our dogs to run around as well. The host was very helpful- we thought that our pull out kitchen broke which was the only way to access our water and he offered to let us access some water he had in the cabin. Luckily we didn’t need to though. 10/10 would recommend!
