Selfishly, we’d like to keep this place available for us! It was pretty great. Lots to do on property. Close drives to play in rivers and lakes. Lots of hiking. The hosts provide a reference book for hikes, water spots, food, and adventures. This spot is the best I’ve ever been to. Truly kind hosts, very well stocked site, clean cabin, kitchen, fire area, and cutest outhouse I’ve ever seen! We will book again next year! And maybe day-trip to Crater Lake.

This was our 3rd time coming to visit Ruby’s cabin and we always have a blast. This year we saw ravens, deer, and wild turkeys coming through the property!! The land is expansive and there are many cool areas to explore, including some trails they have constructed themselves.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hosts had thought of every detail to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and fully stocked with all the amenities our family needed for a relaxing getaway.
What really stood out was the exceptional hospitality. We brought our entire family, including our little ones, and were so touched to find a small teddy bear waiting for them. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made them feel special and added a personal touch to our stay.
The property was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly set up for making family memories. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable, family-friendly retreat. We can't wait to come back!

Omg! I love Ruby’s Camp so much!!! I’m telling all my friends and family about it. You are in the forest but Jay and Tamara have provided you with more things than you can even think of bringing. The land, cabin, pavilion, kitchen area, and yes, even the outhouse (I almost forgot the solar shower) were put together with such skill and care. It was easy for me to see why the reviews were all so great.
You’re on your own land in the forest but down the road is Jay and Tamara’s home, so you’re not completely alone and it’s a much much safer feeling. The wildlife was my absolute favorite! Elk, deer, foxes, frogs, lizards, and all of the different birds (oh my!).
There is a fire pit and a propane fire pit. Tons of hiking and exploring some real dense forest. Madrona trees! Trails of daisies (at least in spring).
Now the hosts, Jay and Tamara are so utterly accommodating and attentive - if you need anything they have their phone #s available for you in multiple places. They are just so kind and personable. It’s easy to treat the place so great because it treats you so great. I’m sure I will tho k of a hundred more things I should’ve included after I hit submit.

Such an exceptional Hipcamp. It's clear the host paid attention to details. The cabin was warm and comfortable. For Dogs, this is what dog dreams are made of. My GSD had a blast and was tired at the end of our visit. I have already recommended this place to my dog friends.

Ruby's cabin is nestled amongst beautiful cedars and pines with a view of a large green meadow out front. The cabin is cozy with 2 comfy twin beds, a nice table and chairs for games and eating and our absolute favorite was the wood stove. It has plenty of windows and a great loft for extra sleeping space. The outdoor kitchen is conveniently located and very well stocked. We went on several long walks exploring some of the 200 acres the cabin is on. We saw deer during our walks which was extra special. Ruby's cabin is a little slice of heaven!

We loved Jay's well thought out cabin. Everything was stocked well, clean and cute. Next time we are only bringing food and clothes, and our dogs.
Our dogs played ball in the front yard off leash and had a blast. We played board games and got the peace and quiet we much needed. Many trails on the property to walk. Many forest service roads and places to explore. There is a binder in the cabin with really good local information including swimming holes. We definitely want to return.

Ruby’s Cabin felt like such a treasure to me. My family loved the open spaces and scenery, plus the cabin and the outdoor cooking space. We got to explore the surrounding area on foot through the trails and my girls rode their bikes around the cabin. Jay came to greet us and let us know if we needed anything, to just ask. He was so friendly. I really can’t wait to go back.

Our family had an amazing time! They had an incredible cabin, camp kitchen had everything you could think of. The bathroom was so cute and wonderful to have. So much space for all our kids and dogs to run around. The showers were so fun and we enjoyed every night sitting around the fire pit that was available.
Jay has really thought of everything, he was so kind and hospitable. The site was so clean and beautiful, such attention to detail. Our whole family kept saying how amazing this place was with every new amenity we found!

Jay’s Place at Ruby’s Cabin was just what we needed. Quiet, private, peaceful and totally off the grid. Everything you might possibly need was available and Jay was able to suggest some nice fishing spots as well as which flies the fish were hitting. We really enjoyed our stay.

More amazing than the amazing review. We loved the quiet environment. Perfect cabin. Extreme attention to details. Just bring pillow cases, towels, and some beddings + food. We did not miss anything. Confortable, clean, well appointed. Plenty of portable lights, and despite the lack of connectivity we had loaded our devices with movies and recharged them via portable power banks or car. Cute loo. My only mistake was to not download maps / AllTrails. Gps does not work and only ATT works in town. Owner was welcoming and shared his recommendations for hikes - we went to the lakes 45 mn drive away. Hard to imagine what could make this little paradise better. We will be back.,

Fantastic! We brought our usual camping gear just in case and didn't need any of it. All you need is a cooler for food and drinks and they have everything else you need. We'll definitely be back. Thank you Jay and Tamara for the hospitality and amazing set up.

Always a wonderful experience at Ruby's cabin. We enjoyed seeing deer, skunks, lizards and chasing grasshoppers. We even got a rare owl sighting. Lots of family fun for everyone. Stargazing was amazing. Lots of shooting stars!!🌠

Jay and Tamara have created a really lovely outdoor escape and are excellent hosts. We stayed with a group of ten or so campers and everyone was so delighted by the place and the hospitality. It honestly felt like staying with friends. There are many generous and truly thoughtful details on the property, from beautiful cabin, to the well-stocked outdoor kitchen, to the solar shower setup and stall - even the outhouse is cute. Having running water felt like such a luxury. Tamara and Jay were really welcoming and responsive, not that we needed much since they had already provided just about everything we could ask for. Jay even helped fill the kiddie pool since it was so hot during our stay. And Tamara recommended a terrific nearby swimming hole perfect for cooling off during the heat of the day. Our only wish is that it was closer to Portland! We can’t wait to stay again!

A beautiful and quiet cabin. No electricity, cell phones or TV, just sharing stories and playing games with my friend. Cooked an excellent steak on the gas BBQ first night. Went down and started a fire in the fire pit below. Made smores and got marshmallow all over my face. Looking forward to another longer stay in the future.

The perfect cabin for a few days of pure solitude and relaxation. Ruby’s Cabin was perfect for two of us and our dog - plenty of space for families as well and tons of outdoor space to camp for larger groups. Jay met us on site to make sure we had everything we needed. We brought some of our normal camping gear, but the cabin was completely stocked with everything and more. We will definitely be back!

Jay is a wonderful man for allowing us to enjoy his little piece of paradise. His property is special. Once you pass his home, you drive into an escape from society. You meander through a wooded driveway and end in a tucked away spot where cell reception does not exist. The space is private and lovely. Our dogs were able to roam and explore without us having to worry. Well, except the evening we drove up and found about 100 elk hanging out in our pasture. We did not want the dogs to scare away these astonishing visitors! There is no power on site, which we were fine with. There are plenty of lanterns around to find your way. The one thing I was not ready for was the outdoor shower, which consisted of solar-heated water bags. Nope... not for me... not in the rainy woods of Oregon with around 50 degree weather. Thankfully, McCreedie Hot Springs are just 15 minutes away!
