Welcome to our family's Private Campground - The Desert Rose. A boondocking site for you and your family to enjoy! We have a Yurt, a cabin, 3 RV/Travel trailer pads and 2 tent sites created here and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space yet be all together. You can book the entire campground, or just one of the units. Whether it's just you, or you're bringing a crew, we know you'll love it here! Our favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area is Smith Rocks and Chimney Rock. The Prineville reservoir is roughly a 12 minute drive and the starry nights here are something to behold. Up the road is the most unique petting zoo that we recently found! Find it and you might just be able to hold a baby kangaroo! Boondocking site means there is no hook-ups or running water so you'll want to bring in your own water and heat if you're here in the colder months. Your four legged furry family members are welcomed! They must be accompanied at all times and not left on the property alone. The dog run is for you to keep closer tabs on them while relaxing, not for leaving them while going into town or enjoying the area. The dirt is very soft and it wouldn't take very long for them to dig under to get out and go looking for you. The cabin or yurt is also not a pet storage area - with no power or AC, pets are not allowed to be left alone in the dwellings.

Desert Rose Cabin - Wooden Goddess

100%
(6)
Cabin · Sleeps 6
If you do not have your own tent but want to take the whole family out to enjoy a camp trip, this is the site for you! The Wooden Goddess was named by our 5 year old and how could we argue? It is larger then The Yurt and has a futon provided and enough room to throw in a blow-up air mattress and store your belongings. This listing is for the cabin only. If you would like to book the entire campground for your group to enjoy privately, please find our other listing 'Desert Rose Private Campground'. The entire campground is this cabin, a yurt, 3 pads for RV's/trailers and two designated tent sites. It would be hard to find a better location to view the stars! This area is considered a Starry Night Sanctuary, and with next too no neighboring lights, the heavens open up. Our campground is a 'Boondocking' site, meaning there is no utilities or running water. You will want to bring your own water and heating. Our favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area is Smith Rocks and Chimney Rock. The Prineville reservoir is roughly a 12 minute drive also, up the road is the most unique petting zoo that we recently found! Find it and you might just be able to hold a baby kangaroo.

Yurt · Sleeps 19
This is our family campground that we would love to share it with fellow campers! Enjoy the clear dome Yurt to view to the stars while you begin to drift to sleep. An insulated cozy cabin with a porch to enjoy your morning cup of coffee. For the kids and those that want the tent experience, there are two designated areas to pitch them up. There is also 3 leveled and rocked pads for your RV/Travel Trailer. This is a Boondocking site, meaning there is no hook-ups or utilities here. You will want to bring your own water and heat. BLM land is less then a mile away that doesn't take long to find some amazing views up over the Crooked River. If you can, catch a sunrise there. What our family has loved most with this land is the peaceful quiet serenity. At night, the heavens show themselves so beautifully on clear nights that always makes us feel like we are in a sanctuary. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have! Pets are welcomed and must be accompanied at all times. The dog run here is not for leaving your pets when you are off property, the ground is very soft and would not take long for them to get out if they tried to go find you. It is for you to help keep an eye on them while you enjoy some relaxation and not worry about them getting off property where you cannot see. Since the cabin and yurt do not have power or AC, pets are not to be ever left in the dwelling while you are off property. This listing is for private access to the entire property.
